  1. Point taken. I thought it was a fun action flick. Some do not agree. Even if they laughed and had fun watching it, they will still say it sucked.
  2. In the 70's it was cool. It has not stood up well. I cringe watching the original now. RDM's BSG for the win.
  3. Yes, it will play the PS store games even without the BC. PS One games can be played on any PS3 still. It's PS2 games that can't be played on PS3's w/o BC. There are only PS3 and PS one games on the store too. And the Slim will run much cooler than the full size models.
  4. Finally saw it. It was ok. Not that big a Trek fan, but it was definitely more enjoyable than what I was expecting.
  5. Just saw ep. 13 on the Blu-ray set. Damn that was great!
  6. Don't worry Mike, I didn't mean you I just don't understand why hating and grumbling fills certain people with such joy. Those are traits of unsuccessful people, people with depression, people who are unhappy with their lives on some level but lack the drive to change it. And it's not only here that I sense the hate (though I'm sure many of you will harbor hatred it for some reason, like most things discussed here). It's more what I've been hearing from supposed "fans". There are people who didn't give a rats butt about GI Joe since they were 6 years old all of a sudden acting like they got punched in the face and they've been "loyal" to the brand all these years. I don't think this film was any instant classic or anything, but we had fun watching it. Sometimes you need a Big Mac.
  7. It's sorta a mix of the comic and cartoon. Like you, I was a fan of the comic book (the only comic I read), and not so much the cartoon. The plot reminds me of the cartoon min series plots. Extremely over the top. In many ways, it's like a live action cartoon. I liked it anyways though. It's just a roller coaster ride of action. There are certainly some points where I wasn't expecting to see, with some certain shots of violence. Check your belief at the door, and just enjoy Joes and Cobra (well, sorta) kick the snot out of each other for a couple hours. There are liberties taken that I am not fond of, but overall, it was enjoyable and fun. That's what gets me the most about some people who have seen it...they say it was a lot of fun but they "hate it" still. They now hate fun if it wasn't the fun they remembered? I liked it for what it was...over the top, unbelievable action sequences, and a lot of fun. Some people don't like a certain plot point of the Snake/Tommy origin, but I don't think they were really paying attention to what Storm Shadow had alluded to when he spoke. What he says when he fights SE is important in that context. I think the sequel will take that and run with it, satisfying comic fans.
  8. I could care less about no screenings for critics. I rarely agree with critics. If I watch it and I think it sucks, then to me it sucks. If I like it, then I like it. But seems like most people will bitch about it sucking before seeing it, then pay to see it, whine about it, buy the DVD when it comes out, and bitch about it raping their childhood. They'll probably buy all the toys supporting it, and bitch about that too.
  9. Ditto. Maybe I'll pick it up soon. Between work, and...work, I just haven't been playing much of anything.
  10. Expect the official PS3 slim announcement very soon.
  11. Hmmm...midnight showing in my town. To go or not to go. I was going to just see it the actual day it opens, but this is intriguing.
  12. Yeah, they were bad. Still haven't received my set yet. There are some boxes at the post office though so I'm presuming that's one of them. Can't wait to see the improvement on the miniseries.
  13. The mini-series was actually shot on film....only the series was shot on HD Video.
