  1. amazing work....did u use the same grey as the vf-0S or was it a different grey?
  2. congratulations honket, love ur paintjob. what happens to the green missiles in the earlier pics?.....i thought the green looks cool though. by the way what colour did use for the green missiles?
  3. ben, great work so far. one comments, i think u shud tone down the contrast of the dark grey panelling so that it will blend with the lighter grey base colour. what colour did u use for the leg's metallic colour? love that dark bronze tone.
  4. wow! that's a lot of parts...i'll be thinking twice to get those superb kits. anyways, great work so far. keep it up!!!
  5. newca, since u r doing lots of PE detailing parts for the vf-25, i would also suggest replacement part for all the 'supposed' to be lighting parts with clear plastic parts instead what bandai provide with just stickers. can u do that? i think that will also sell...just my 2 cents though
  6. hi all, this is my first WIP, i'm no good in story telling nor writing...so please bear with me. i've been drooling ever since i read master cheng's wip on his version of vf-1 atmo booster....been looking around and suddenly SSM got it in stock bought it together with the launch pylon. so here it goes. any comments, suggestions and questions are most welcome. i'll skip the sanding parts + the vf-1 assembly (most of it I did refer to master cheng's thread) dry fitting of the vf-1s + moscato's atmospheric booster dry fitting of the launch pylon some gak from old broken bandai 1/60 helldiver model kit to be use as the engine parts inside the atmo booster dry fit of the engine parts
  7. hi, these are the main colors used for the green color scheme: -main color is tamiya cockpit green(IJN) XF-71 -mix with tamiya neutral Grey XF-53 and medium Grey XF-20 i totally forgot the mixture.... u can try adding those colors until u satisfied with the color, to make it lighter add some tamiya flat white. larger pics plus close-up on the ghosts will be coming soon....
  8. petarB, why don't u master one urself? and cast a few resins and sell ...i really think u r a great sculptor yourself. if this happens, count me in for one
  9. how can i miss this.....do they still sel this? SSM don't have them .....anyone knows where to get this amazing kit?
  10. i applied the alclad on a flat black base coat.....hmmmm, will try again on a glossy black surface. thanks
  11. yup....this does help....thanks alot
  12. herve, love the cockpit job.....for the body graphics, r u planning on using decals or painting them on? anyways, very enthusiastic to see the final outcome....keep it up
  13. thanks....never knew there were lot of 'lovely' nose art for macross....thanks for sharing
  14. nice....i have to get one of this....sv-51 gamma. can wait to see your final completed kit
  15. always liked the vf-0s...amazing job there, very clean, not over weathered...keep it up. one request, can u take a few closeup shots of the cockpit?....for reference use only
  16. WM Cheng, i bought an alclad 'steel' paint n tried air-brush it on my vf-1S gunpod. the outcome wasn't appealing enough for something which should look like steel....any tips or suggestion?
  17. mickyg, what do yo do for life? i mean ur occupation....i think ur job is the coolest since u can do macross modeling in the office
  18. looking great so far.....will post my vf-25G step by step kinda build up after i finished my moscato atmospheric booster...meanwhile keep us posted....errr shud i just post here or start a new topic for mikhail custom?
  19. thanks all for all the kudos. firstly this modelkits from bandai was a pain to built.....it took me almost 3 months to complete the assembly....but it does give me a whole lot new experience and a very useful learning process in modelmaking regult, i use my sonyericsson k850i camera phone. i built the rvf-25 non-transformable (sorry to dissapoint u), i glued everything so the flimzy parts of the modelkit especiallly the legs to be in place. with the superpack, the designated joints weren't designed properly (i guess and wondered why...)that it wont stick 'tightly' where it shud be compared without the superpacks...u know what i mean...i always wanted my VFs to look sturdy and rigid. i'll post the closeups of the ghost later when i'm back home...(currently outstationed... ) electric indigo, yeah i too think i shud painted those mismatching colours of the decals, will see what i can do.... 007-vf1, those pics weren't taken properly, even without a proper background...was out of time since i was going outstation for a while. for the colour, i cant recall the exact colour code and mixture... micky G, for this kit i did post shading using thinned tamiya smoke 1:6 mixture. i did the shading i learned from master cheng's build-ups posts ...nothing special. basically using 0.3 airbrush with the smallest nozzle opening. then sprayed 1 layer of tamiya clear, let dry for 1 night. after that is the weathering process using tamiya weathering master.....errr i think the B set...i just use SOOT for the shading. lastly 1 layer of flat clear...will describe further details plus the colour mixture later(when i'm back that is....) . i bought the G version (mikhail custom) yesterday while window shopping near my workplace.....will subscribe to ur G version posts for reference. currently working on the moscato's vf-1 atmospheric booster...
  20. my first macross frontier model kit....thanks to all (WM Cheng, Petar B, Cool8er, denversaur, kyekye and others) who inspired me to finish this kit. still have a little bit touch up work here n there, before completing my rvf-25 supermessiah...guess i'll post the pics first since i'll be outstation for a while. pictures taken using my camera phone....sorry for the crappy pictures. will try with better quality camera after the final completion of the kit.
  21. sweet... does anyone know what other brand works similar like future? been looking for this product in malaysia but couldn't find one....
  22. andrew, hi, if u r looking for Hasegawa Macross Zero: VF-0A/S Valkyrie w/ Ghost, may be u wanna try at toysnjoys.com, they wud probably have 1 in stock...
  23. envy ur time n talent, love the work of art, i have one of the kit but still can't manage to kick start yet....after reading all the MW member's model kits scratch built and build_ups, i'm amazed of the timeframe taken from executing the work untill completion, its like a fast track project...kudos. it's about one month already and i can't even manage to complete my RVF-25 Messiah yet...
  24. agreed, i'm currently doing the RVF-25 supermessiah and almost all the decals sucks!!! resulting in masking n painting almost all the decaling parts. what worries me the most is the tattoish stripe decals for the superparts. WM Cheng, one dumb question, this is my first time doing weathering effect, did u use 0.3 or 0.2 nozzle airbrush for post shading? how much did u thinned tamiya smoke? issit 50/50?
  25. maverick, this is the coolest...if u r building a macross diorama, i think u should paint, weathering, panel lines etc etc ur valk for more realistic effect...cant wait to see the finished dioramas. chris, where did u hear the news?
