Got my 1/60 v2 VF-1A Hikaru with strike parts yesterday from my brother-in-law. He's stationed in Okinawa and happened to know exactly what I wanted for my birthday. I owe him a serious round when he's back for the holidays! Damn it... the Destroid Tomahawk any day, VF-1J TV Hikaru soon, the VF-1D!!! My wallet is getting thinner, LOL. All in all, I am glad I got rid of my 1/48's. While both the 1/48 & the 1/60v2 have their plus/minus points with the mold, I much prefer the 1/60 scale. And now that we're getting the Destroids and it's looking like we'll be getting all the deco's for the VF-1's, one can only hope that there's a Regult and a Glaug coming down the road with a reissue of the Queadluun-Rau in TV colors (green).

I just received my 1/60 v2.0 VF-1S NON-strike and I must say I am impressed. BUT, that shoulder hinge IS very fragile. The one I received is stable though, luckily. I'm only going to pose and display, so probably not a big deal for me. PERFECT size valk. I am very happy. Bring on the 1D, TV 1J & 1A's... I can't wait to get a cool diorama going.

Has anyone else ordered a non-strike VF-1S 2.0 from L&FT? I never ordered from Los before but I was charged for it early last week & they said it would be in Friday. Still no update on shipping status or a response to my inquiry. I'm dying to get my hands on this thing. Does it usually take a long time for them to ship? Thanks!!!

All right... that's it! I'm caving in. These new 1/60 v2.0's... they're all gonna be MINE dude!!!!! Finally ordered / pre-ordered all 3!

Quick question... are these v2.0 1/60s coming out in 2 versions? One with fast packs and one without? HLJ has what appears to be both the 1S and the 1A (preorder). Thanks!

This Hollywood Reporter article confirms the quick tidbit I saw on G4 TV. The article brings you up to date with all names involved now, etc... For me, it's 50/50... either it's going to be truely awesome or it's gonna suck. They'd better make SDF Macross/Robotech: Macross Saga mech designs & story absolute cannon, otherwise F it. Thoughts?

For me, I love the 1/60 scale but I hated the look of the old ones when compared to the 1/48 in Battroid. I really wanted to go 1/60 but wound up with 1/48 for that reason alone. The 1/48's are huge though and the boxes are rediculous. Well, looks like I am going to check this new 1/60 out. Looks very promising, best of both world sort of. I'd want a Max, Milia, CF, TV Hikaru and a VF-1D minimum. Are there plans to re-do all the VF-1's like this?

I emailed BBTS and they now have the Max, Millia, Regult & YF's up for pre-order!

I spoke with someone at Toynami yesterday & asked about when the new stuff will be available. He said strike parts in April (which are now known as wave 3), the weathered 1S' & CF will be out in May and will include both original accessories and the strike parts (now wave 4). The armor set will be available 4th quarter 2008... & we should see something very cool displayed at SDCC this year (hinted at a wave of ENEMY MECHA).

Toynami is on the list at figures.com Toyfair coverage, but if they are a no-show I have a strong feeling they may be out of business.

So ToyFair is on... I have already seen some really cool new Star Wars Clone Wars 3D stuff, Indiana Jones, Gentle Giant Statues, Sideshow, etc... where's the Macross coverage? Yamato? Bandai? Aoshima? um, *gulp* Toynami?

Does anyone know if Yamato, Aoshima or Toynami were at the UK Toyfair? If so, any coverage? What about the upcoming NY Toyfair? Thanks!

The link to those SDCC pics is from 2006, so I am confused as to which Hikaru you guys are looking for. The 1A was in wave 1. The 1S is part of wave 3 coming this Feb along with an updated Roy 1S (better joints & flat jolly roger) and the 1A CF. These 3 will include the fast packs. The fast packs for the rest will be released later (the Max/Milia & generic) which will include TV and movie parts. Each sold seperately. Are they worth the $25? Well, I think so for a few reasons... they take up little space, they come with a lot of extras and a stand which works for all modes, & while not perfect, they still do look very cool. But most importantly, if you break one, oh well... unlike breaking a 1/48!

They ARE releasing fast packs seperately for these. I just don't know which is coming first. I was told that the fast packs were coming out at the same time as wave 3. See the link in my 2nd post of this thread. The 3rd wave just happens to come with them. The fast packs ARE interchangeable and can go onto ANY valk in this line. Roy was supossed to be weathered. I am still glad the Jolly Roger is flat now. As for the QC with the loose joints, this was corrected for wave 2. All the wave 1 Valks had QC problems here or there. The 1J's have very sturdy joints (at least mine do). BTW, there was never a Hicky VF-1S in wave 1, it was a VF-1A. The Hicky 1S is in wave 3. Check out THIS BLOG for a great review of wave 2, and THIS ONE for wave 1 which explains the QC issues. I gotta get 2 CFs! Hopefully they'll to the 1D, Ostrich & Einseeker in wave 4!

I called them and they told me the strike parts and wave 3 will be available in the First Quarter 2008. Wave 3 will be a re-done Roy VF-1S (battle worn), Hikaru VF-1S and a VF-1A Mass Prod. Type. They will include the strike parts. The strike parts for waves 1 & 2 will be sold individually.
