I got mine today. Seems to have more tampo on it. Happy to say NO rainbow coating on the canopy!

The canopy on my VF-1S DYRL Focker has the cracking as well. And my 1J TV Hikaru has shoulder syndrome on BOTH sides! Ug. I sure hope Graham will take another order for parts (crossing fingers).

Do you have any links to these? And DarcSyde... I had a VERY hard time finding ANY GN-U Dou VF-1s at a price I could stomach. I found one on eBay and the guy cancelled my order saying he couldn't get it, then I ordered some from Angolz and they were unable to get them from their supplier so I wound up not getting any of them. Hey guys, sorry if it's been discussed but I have never seen a Valk produced in this color scheme, a VF-1A UN HQ Guard (images courtesy of Macross Mecha Manual): Green is my favorite color and I'd love to add this to my collection. I really like this scheme and think it would very cool to get one. I figure that if we got a Virgin Road and the 1J CF, why not this? Think I might get lucky? Thoughts?

Yeah, I order from Amiami from time to time. 3980¥ = $45.36 + EMS to NY, USA which will be at least $20-$25 and now you're talking $70! I've gotten at least 2 brand new 1/60v2 Valk's shipped to me for like $15 more. Don't get me wrong, I REALLY want to get them, they look fantastic! But then I'd have to get all of the VF-1's probably, and at that price (and I'm not even counting exclusives cost) I just can't afford to start this line unfortunately. It looks awesome though, and I am looking forward to Jenius' review.

I'd really like to get into this line but it's just to expensive. Almost the same cost as a 1/60v2. I can't justify that, sticking with the 1/60v2s... but this does look VERY cool.

Got my 1A DYRL Kaki the other day from HobbySearch - AWESOME! Only 2-days after it shipped. What a deal! What's left for me now? 1A TV Kaki, 1S TV Roy (I have the other one so I might wait on this), M&M 1J's, 1A DYRL Max and *maybe* the VT/VE-1's if they're still available. First on my list is the TV Kaki to complete my Vermillion & thankfully it's getting a re-release in July.

Looked at the other one first but this one is just as amazing! Totally sick paint job man. That thing is HUGE.

I'll chime in. I like Robotech - there, I said it! But I like Robotech from back in the day. I enjoyed the Comico comics and the Jack McKinney novels. I thought the show was alright. I didn't really like a lot of the voice acting, but I was entertained. No matter what anyone says, it still had a better story line than a LOT of what was out back then. Have you guys gone back and WATCHED the G1 Transformers??? I think that the novels were pretty good and well thought out. To me, they are what's cannon for "Robotech". I feel that the show and the comics are a simple & dumbed down version. Take them for what they are, simplistic entertainment. That being said, HG retconning the whole continuity since just before Prelude to the Shadow Chronicles was released really pissed me off. Why put in the effort to do that? The source material was there already! It's like they're going to great lengths to further separate Robotech from Macross but in the process have George Lucas'd the whole effing thing! Where are some production samples from Shadow Rising? Lets see some pre-production art for the LAM? You'd think that they'd WANT to generate a buzz for these projects by giving the fans & the general public a few glimpses into their progress, but NO! Like a lot of other things in life, it's becoming a big let down.

I am still on the fence about these too! I have a pre-order in for the 1J Hikaru but I really don't want to spend $100+ on the 1J Max. That's holding me back BIG time. Add to that, the price point on these is almost too close to standard 1/60 v2 Valks. I already have 6 1/60 v2 Valks with only 3 to go for me to be really happy, and one of the Valks I still need happens to be the Max 1J. I might be stickin to the 1/60s...

Just got a v2 VF-1A Mass Production Type today so I pulled out my other v2 1/60s for display again (put them away to display some 1/100s. EFF that man, what was I thinking??? Wife has given me free reigns again ). Pulled out my VF-1J TV Hikaru & my VF-1S Roy... Hikaru - sad to report shoulder hinge breakage! Roy - reflective coat on canopy is cracking! I'd better get my VF-1D and VF-1A Max out too, gonna head downstairs and get them now Graham - please help us when you can!!!

Wow - the Max is going to cost as much as a Yamato 1/60 Valk... Should I really commit to these or just get the remaining 4 Valks I need to complete my 1/60 collection? Damn man, this is a tough one!

Thanks for the heads up - very interesting! The guys here are always great. I have heard of more ways to get toys here than anywhere else, and I really appreciate it. If anyone is interested, Toy-wave has a pre-order up for the VF-1J Max HERE. A little pricey but maybe worth it?

Is it possible to order the Max from that site even though I'm in the States? I don't get it. The site seems to say that they will take pre-orders through September... Do you need some special membership or something? I don't get it.

These look like crap! It looks horrible in fighter mode and the heads are all too small. JMO. Easy pass for me.
