All things NASA & SpaceX. Past, Present & Future.

That was a wonderful sight to see the Dragon & ISS crews greet each other with a hearty handshake & hug. I love how the Nose-cone on the Dragon opens up to reveal the hatch. -

I was in 4th grade when the Challenger exploded. We watched it live that morning in school, the teachers & staff were either in shock or tears, most of us weren't really old enough to fully comprehend what just happened but it was a really strange day. When I came home from school, my mom who was a teacher and as a kid always dreamed of being an Astronaut was in total tears, that's when it hit me something bad had happened. The appreciation & respect that I have for the Space program & Astronauts grew after that. Columbia was another reminder of just how dangerous it is out there. And yes, today was a step forward again and in the right direction. Between NASA & SpaceX working together it will pave the way for better & more successful missions. Not just to orbit, the ISS or even back to the Moon. Give it a decade or so and we'll be on Mars, we did the Moon in the 1960's with a slide ruler and machines barely worthy the title of a computer. with what we possess now it is possible... dangerous as all hell but possible. -
Awesome, thanks Dobber! I saw one of these on eBay for a really good price but was concerned about the scale, might have to pull the trigger on one!

I realize I am extremely late to the party but what scale is the MK III Viper, same as the Moebius model kits?

A perfect launch, everything by the numbers it would seem and now it's waiting game to arrive at the ISS. Sucks though that the LIVE feed gave out as the boosters were about to land. So far this is the only footage of it. -

After looking at the pics available online of the Dragon Capsule, maybe I missed it but are there any manual controls in case "This is Space, it does not cooperate" happens, or is it strictly the touchscreen panels? -

^^^ All of the above!! Though that weather looks a bit unfriendly, play it safe and if they need to wait a few days I say do it. No sense rushing it at this point. -

The bubble I purchased was fairly thin so a sharp pair of scissors worked just fine, any rough edges the Visor pretty much hides. I think I cut about an inch off so it would fit. About a year ago or so I replace that bubble visor with an actual US Navy Green & Clear Visor for that real world look. I'll some pics tomorrow.

Actually all of the Macross helmets that are still available are all Pre-painted & ready to wear. I specifically ordered my helmet as unpainted so I could customize it. If you want a Roy, Max or Hikaru just keep an eye on Ebay or Amazon and they still pop up for sale.

Well it might be a motorcycle helmet under that custom body frame but these don't seem to be a holding a very high re-sale value like the YAMATO versions. I took mine apart years ago to customize it and while it's a motorcycle helmet, it's feel like a very simple & basic helmet as best, DOT approved or not. Over the past few years I've seen some of these Masei Helmets whether it be size S/M or L/XL go for as low as $55.00 plus shipping on Ebay. The seller has a 100% rating so at least he seems to be honest. This is how mine arrived years ago at my request: t r And then what it turned into:
