Bandai 1/72 Scale Macross Frontier Plastic Models
505thAirborne replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
The last Bandai Kit i ever had was the VF-2SS and a few Gundam F-91 kits, do they assemble in the same fashion, or is this more like the Hasegawa Macross Zero kits, lots of glue, putty serious patience!!?? Thought I would ask since you actually have one now. Show us some pics when you have it painted!!! -

Bandai 1/60 DX VF-25 transformable toy thread
505thAirborne replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Its a shame to see that this is the very best Bandai could do.... I'll just save up for more 1/72 scale models of the VF-25 and wait for my VF-11B 1/60 from Yamato to come out, will be worth the wait & accuracy I'm sure!! -

hey 1/1 LowViz, thats actually not to bad an idea. Though one way or the other this is all speculation on how it will actually look OR function. But The tail fin definitely seems to be a prime concern of most Macross fans. -
Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development
505thAirborne replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
The tail is barely protruding out at all, and even if it did on the new Yamato, I'd rather have that, then small tail wings like the original 1/72 version. But if the new yamato looks anything like this model, I'll be very happy!! -
Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development
505thAirborne replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Ok here is some definite proof Yamato can maintain the proper look, dimensions & line art of the VF-11B and still have it transform properly. Not sure if anyone else posted these pictures, but here goes. This is of the STUDIO HALF-EYE VF-11B resin kit. Fully transformable. And if you are seeing what I am seeing, Between the feet, landing gear & Tails, it can be done!! -

My Macross Collection!! 25 years in the making, real
Images added to a gallery album owned by 505thAirborne in Macross Collections
This is most of my entire Macross Toy & Model collection. many of these items were purchased as far back the 1990's, a few are actually from the 80's. My SDF-1 & Hikaru's VF-1S 1/55 Strive Valkyrie are my most prized possessions, I also have a small run of Mospeada toys as well. With Macross Frontier toys finally releasing and More Macross Zero models to get, I'll have to get another bookcase soon!!! Thanks for looking!! Your thoughts & opinions are always welcomed!! -

Is that what the actual production version will look like, or that still of the prototype? Fighter modes looks ok, i would just leave the landing gear up. Either way, still looks better than Bandai's Macross 7 collection. -
Macross Frontier Episode 24 Talkback Thread *READ 1st Post*
505thAirborne replied to azrael's topic in Movies and TV Series
I hope the last episode is an hour long, just don't see how everything....Ok most of everything can really get answered without it being "well its your interpretation what happened". Just seems likes its gonna be a rushed ending. Hope I am wrong. Also, I watched episode 24 (Subbed) again this morning. Instead of Flashbacks, wish hey just did a whole flashback episode about the SDF-GLOBAL, and the 117th convoy, Ranka's family....would have been better. But where does it look like Alto bails out as some have pointed out? Before he fly's past Bremen/Ranka's brother? Also Leon is a d@#che-bag, he's gonna get everyone killed!! -

In that case, maybe Macross 25 should borrow the BLACK-HOLE Bomb from Gunbuster, that should do the trick!! But seriously, how many more episodes are left in this series, So far its not looking too good for Alto and the others. Starting too look like the a real downer of an ending here. -

Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development
505thAirborne replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I completely agree with DANTH, The tails can easily fit inside, and the pictures here confirm that. Don't get cheap on us Yamato, as your prices are Not. And for the arms, just use Aluminum or Diecast. To many issues with Plastics. For the tails on the legs, there is no reason why with newer technologies they (Yamato) can not make it work properly!!! -

Sounds like we are getting closer to some type of release date or at lease a sneak peek....hint, hint!! When you actually get one Graham, let us know what ya think of it!!! I'm saving up in my piggy bank for this one!!! -
Bare in mind too that the VF-1 Valkyrie fighters were original designed as far back as 1981-82. High tech for the day with many features off of modern fighters for that time like the F-14 & F-15. In DYRL in 1984 The VF-1 Valkyries received an update in the flight controls like that of the F-16 Falcon, with fly-by-wire control sticks. As to the VF-0 Phoenix, I think Kawamori designed it to look very advanced with every bell & whistle on it, and as is usually true in Fighter plane development for mass production, everything that doesn't need to be there gets scrapped. and what your left with is a good solid/simplified fighter. Though of everything the VF-1 did not receive, it got the thermonuclear engines which made it a space bound fighter. Thus the VF-1 having a smaller frame, Better engines and a much simpler body frame for ease of maintenance. Just think of the VF-0 being an F-14. Big, beautiful, expensive & very hard to maintain. The VF-1 is the F-18 Super Hornet, Smaller, sporty, less expensive and a maintenance workers dream. I know this comparison is my own opinion and general, buts its the best way to describe the differences. I have my VF-0 & VF-1 side by side and every time I look at them, this is what comes to mind.
