  1. Since this thread opened, I've tried to vote and yet it is so hard to decide which is the better one.... I know its an evil curse word here, But I originally grew up watching the Macross saga of Robotech. (I warned you of foul language) and that was in 1985, that same year I got to see Macross DYRL. And in one short year my eyes exploded, my mind opened and forever a connection was formed to these Characters. Though the story lines of RT and Macross are apples & oranges, Its still Hikaru, Misa, Minmey, SDF-1 and the rest of the cast. You still go through their adventures, triumphs, struggles and losses. For an anime series, either way its an emotional ride. And is still my all time favorite series. And yes I own both RT & MACROSS TV series on DVD. Every time I watch them, immediately I am back in time to 1985 as a child and still amazed by what I see, its that powerful for me. Though the animation can be rough at times or pure amazing, its something to behold. And nothing in my opinion has reached such a level. Then we have the Macross DYRL movie. How many ways can we say Wow, Holy Sh_t that was awesome!! Between the redesigned uniforms, everyone is part of Skull squadron, the new style of the SDF-1, everything is just even more amazing, special and deeper than before. The story is good, not as in depth as the series, but hey its only 2 hrs long, not 36 episodes.... The CGI, the music and of course Minmey's love song in the final battle are just true brilliance. Its all more than words can describe, however if you have not ever watched the original TV series, and this is just my thought, may not be yours. The MACROSS movie is impressive, but lacks the energy if you have never seen the series 1st. Its the connection we make with these characters that bonds us forever. They are anime characters yes, but after watching the whole series start to finish, they become more than anime figures.... its as if they are people we have come to know, respect & care about. Not many anime series can accomplish that. But either the TV series or DYRL are equally emotional. Sorry for the long ramble, but Macross is very very special to me.
  2. I've been following Macross for ever & ever, well since 1985. But I still learn new things about the galaxy everyday. Amazing to know that many fleets are out there!!!
  3. Holy cow!! Are there really 55 different colony fleets!!?? Thats a lot. Although is 55 based on the series or does that also include the Alternate universes & video game time lines. Either good luck on your project, will be interesting to see it when its done!!
  4. I think the VF-4 is amazing in Fighter mode, Its gerwalk mode is ok, but I must agree that the Battroid is not one of my favorites though. If they make a 1/60 I want it mostly for the fighter mode. But its fully variable.... even better!! I always wondered since you only see the VF-4 for like 10 whole seconds in FB 2012, was it ever even ORIGINALLY designed to transform, or was that a later thought/concept on how it could be made as a variable Valkyrie?
  5. Its the first place I always check!!
  6. Hey Hikuro, I noticed you took all of the Macross Zero episode 1 clips, will you be releasing them again to watch until the others are finished. Its the best way to enjoy Mac Zero for me, its better than my #^#&@*!! subbed dvd's. Hope all your other projects are going well!! take it easy!!
  7. Thats awesome. I did one of my VF-0B's as a MARINE squadron and the other in a F-14 VF-2 Bounty Hunters color scheme!! Although I need to get some weapons kits (missiles & bombs) for them!! I have the pictures some where.....
  8. Thats a bummer, those are a pain to apply. Oh well, its still an a amazing looking VF-1A. My Book shelf will have it one day. Thanks for the info guys!!!
  9. You never know, just a few weeks ago, most agreed that a TV version of a Max VF-1A may never happen, Now there will all 3 of his combat Valks made. So with that in mind & 1/60 being the scale from now on. I'd say that Enemy mecha is on the way, sooner than we think I would say!!!
  10. If they ever make a 1/60 VF-2SS + the SAP, I'll die a happy man!!!!!!!! And yes, Come on Yamato, make the VF-4!!!!!! You know you want too!! The VF-4 is like Grace Park from BattleStar Galactica, simple, awesome & sexy all rolled into one!!! VF-4 leads the way!!
  11. One question/comment. Kind of a dumb one maybe, but i do not have any of the 1/60 v.2 valks yet.... waiting for the VF-1D. Are the NO STEP markings & UN Spacy logo stickers or are they tampo printed on? I got lost in the old thread, Thought I'd try here. I was curious cause the makings on Max's VF-1A here do not look like stickers.
  12. See i was right, On the older thread i made the comment that Yamato would do the other Max Valkyries, and though I was told NOT to hold my breath.... The air is sweet!! An affordable VF-1A TV series max, that is too sweet. This switch to all 1/60 is paying off!!!!
  13. I Hope the Spartan is next, that was always my favorite design. Just think, for once a Spartan toy with working missile bays, its gonna be sweet!!
  14. Are there any major differences between the VF-4 & the VF-4G? Any pics? As to Macross M3, I think Yamato could or has the licensing to that, I might be mistaken though....
  15. Now your talking!!! Although Bandai holds the licensing to Macross 7, So it would be Bandai making them, Not yamato..... However, we should stay on topic with the VF-11B. But good choice!!
  16. Well John, when you get this kit, keep us posted with WIP pictures, and your opinion. My wallet is on strike right now, but the VF-0C is a definite on my list. Also get the VF-0B if you don't have one yet, I have 3, their amazing!!
  17. Well your wish is coming true as the VF-0A 1/72 kit will be available next month though www.hlj.com!!!
  18. The bigger shame is that it probably never will be, since its from Macross II, not many have love for that chapter of Macross, Not the very best animation scenes at times. But the mecha designs were amazing and the VF-2SS & VF-2JA are proof of that!!!
  19. VF-4 from Flashback 2012!!! Come on yamato, you know you want to make it!!!
  20. 505thAirborne

    Latest custom.

    Genius, pure, total genius!!!!!
  21. Just seeing the pictures of Haruhiko Mikimoto are awesome!!! He is my artistic idle, love the guy. I would kill to see him do the next round of character designs for any future Macross projects!! MEGAROAD-01 !!!!!! Enough mystery & BS speculation already, lets see what happened!!
  22. Let it be said though I have had no serious injuries on my Valk's, mostly the older Yamato 1/60's & Macross plus items. Though QC for my older YF-21 & VF-11 both required many repairs. And of course my VF-0A had a shoulder issue..... But my (5) 1/48 VF-1's are like ass kicking tanks, drop them, display them and even transform them, and yes I am formerly from Los Angeles where a few shakers did knock them over, but they bounced right back!! Even Miria's 1/60 Powersuit is indestructible!! The 1/48 is still the superior YAMATO Valkyrie and to Jenius & Edwin3060 you two are lucky your VF-11's never broke!!
  23. Like I said, anyone who finds pictures first of the Macross Quarter, feel free to post!!! Again, speculation & reality mixed in as i do agree with Graham and that no matter the size being small, This toy will carry a price tag.
  24. So far no signs of pricing or even a prototype picture yet, other than the poster. However wishful thinking, I doubt we'll see it priced at $50.00. Like all other Macross related toys, $95.00 and up for something like this. But hey maybe I'm wrong, I'd love to see it cheaper. But its all speculation at this point. We'll have to wait for further details to emerge!! Graham if you get any pictures of this Macross Quarter, please don't be shy to share it with us!!!
  25. I got most of my info from 2 sites & the guys at CollectionDX and they seem to be pretty accurate on their info. So though I wish it would be by far larger, sounds like its 20cm for now. It sometimes seems as if none of the new toy designers for either Bandai, Yamato or others ever grew up with the old school & LARGE SDF-1. (My 2 SDF-1's came from Toys R us in 1985-86) If they did, making tiny little battle ships would never cross their minds, especially for the price tags!! But thats my thought....
