In DYRL Hikaru's Heat shield is clearly RED, Not black. Maybe a few errors do to the fact it was 1984 when they made this Film. But Hikaru Had a Red Shield and Max's VF-1S clearly had a Black one. If you just have to have a Black shield, thank heavens for Spray paint!!

I hope the QC on this one is really good as this is a definite purchase!!!

At this rate, I might actually be able to afford a VF-1A Low Vis. As for selling anything on Ebay or here on MW, Honesty is your best policy and its good business!!

Its going to take alot of tooling and detail to ever make the VF-19 Kai look really good. I'd rather see a VF-4 or VF-2SS come out next. Then again until they get the kinks worked out, I'm holding off on these toys!!

You could always go for a all over NAVY Gray paint scheme. I know you mentioned using a brush, but I would try Tamiya's Intermediate Blue spray paint, its part of their Aircraft series of paints. This is what the last round of Tomcats & new F-18 Super hornets use as their base coat. An awesome shade. In fact in Macross Zero thats the actual color Shins F-14 is. I use if for a lot of my 1/48 models. Then on the Chest plate & Tail wings add some Dark grey or Black pin striping. So just a random idea for you to ponder. Post some pics as yoru 1/100 comes along!!!

Can't wait to see when you finish this VF-1S, could be the best custom 1/55 so far!!

This is my main opinion too about the ending. Over 4 years of war, occupation, death and every other bad thing to happen. Steak, clean air, do what ever I want. I'd probably ditch the mechanics too, Besides the Battlestar was almost a total loss and the other ships were badly worn through as well. I think for the survivors of Caprica it was time for a simple life, let future generations decide if they want to be more advanced, As Lee said "We end the cycle and start over." Sometimes with the way our current world is, Living life a few hundred years ago sounds tempting at times.
