Mobile Suit Gundam 30th Anniversary
505thAirborne replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Hard to belive that Mobile Suit Gundam will turning 30 years old, Its been awhile since I've seen any of the more recent series, but 0083 Stardust memories is my Favorite, as well as 0080 & F-91. A few others too!! And the fact they are making a 1:1 scale Mobile suit for the Celebration, even more impressive!! On a side note, When Macross turns 30 y/o we better get a 1/1 Valkyrie too!!! -

Scarlett Johansson!!! Great actress, shes hot, love her!!! I think she'll do great in Iron Man II!!! ""Rourke's team had reportedly held out for more money after Marvel's initial offer was just $250,000."" Dam Marvel got cheap on his ass!!! -
My VF-1S Hikaru w/Strike parts stays with me forever, thats one I would never part with!!!

I haven't checked this thread for a few days and I'm happy to see that Yamato got the final changes made to the VF-11B with the proper low Vis. UN Spacy insignias, This may be the coolest thing Yamato has made in a while!!
-
Well now that we've seen the few pictures of the SDF-1 in cruiser mode, I wonder when Yamato will show us some prototype pictures of it in Attack mode, When I see it that mode I'll be even more convinced to save up for it!!
-
Are you kidding me!! 4 CF VF-1A's!!! Your a lucky man!! I think you have plenty, we don't want you to overdose on us from to many VF's!!!
-
Be patient and look around, I got both my Storm Attacker mode and a Cruiser Model for around $25.00 each + shipping off of Ebay last year. One is by Imai and the of from Revell. Good kits and fun to customize!!! So next best thing for now until Yamato lets us know "If ever" they decide to make a TV series version.

I have five of the 1/48's Roy, Max, Hikaru, Kakizaki and a CF VF-1A. 4 sets of 1/48 fast packs. Though the 2 seat versions were never made, I can live without that, Since I was about 9 y/o in 1985 when I first saw DYRL, I always wanted these particular Valkyries, I have them and will never let them go. The new Chunky my rear end!! The detail is fantastic, I admit the chicken hands blow which is why I bought recasts instead. I've transformed these guys tons of times and have never has a single part break or a piece crack, So much like MacrossMan I am sold on these guys. Will I ever buy the 1/60 V.2, sure I will in time, can't pass up the VF-1D, VE-1 & VT-1. And as for the weathered $300.00+ aged/weathered 1/48's go, I'll learn to use an Airbrush machine!!!

Thanks Azrael & Yellowlightman, sounds like good simple advice and it gives me a better idea where to start from. If I do decide to take some classes on how too to do the basics, what does sometime like Adobe Dreamweaver cost?? Thanks, 505th!! -
Caprica! Dynasty Meets BSG
505thAirborne replied to terry the lone wolf's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well so far the really good news is that Battlestar Galactica has been such a hit with both Scifi & Non Scifi fans that it opened the doors for this prequel So If Caprica pulls off another win for the franchise, either two possibilities which is other series dealing with this Universe will continue or what I have been reading and hearing from others is that Caprica will start off how we see it in the trailer on Youtube, but eventually take us into the major battles that disrupt the 12 Colonies, Battlestar's in action and hopefully a much younger Adama & Colonel Tigh in Vipers!! But as always, we have to wait and see what unfolds. Waiting sucks!!!!!!!!! -
Not trying to go too far off topic here, as this does sort of involve the SDF-1 and others have raised the issue, For those of you who don't have the Macross Gold Book. Here are the 2 only known images of the ASS-1 or the Macross after being rebuilt. As for the Yamato 1/2000 SDF-1, after the WAVE version came out, everyone said for the most part, we need a bigger SDF-1. Talk about "careful what you wish for", Yamato heard you and said, heres a big Frakin SDF-1. If this one should sell good which I think it will, a 1/2000 TV SDF-1 is sure to follow.

The computer and electronics super geek thread

Hey guys, Hope this kinda question is ok to ask here?? I've seen this thread many a time and thought I would ask away, You guys seem really seem knowledgeable on your Computer parts and hopefully what software to use. Currently I have a Dell - Studio XPS Desktop / Intel® Core™ i7-920 processor Features 4 processing cores, 8MB L2 cache and 2.66GHz processor speed per core. Anyways, I've been pondering on the idea of making my own website for my Business and a few others I want to start up. I know in 2009 how do you run a business without your own website, well its called Ebay for now and it blows!!!! And over the years I did have 2 websites for my Artwork and Anime projects, which have all gone under as the people who made them for me over the years either ran off with my $$$ or decided they would not maintain or Host them for me any longer. So with my new PC, I'm hoping I have enough RAM and Gigs to make it on my own..... yes the old saying is very true. Is there any soft ware out there you would recommend on how build, make, construct a website. Functional with videos, downloads, all that good stuff. Any helpful hints would be great!! -

I thought i would brush the dust off this old thread, With BSG (Sadly) coming to an end. The new series/prequel "CAPRICA" will be coming out soon. Latest info: ****Caprica is an upcoming television series set in the fictional Battlestar Galactica universe. Set 50 years earlier, Caprica will tell the story of how humanity first created the robotic Cylons, who would later plot to destroy human civilization. An extended version of the pilot will have its world premiere exclusively on DVD on April 21, 2009.[1] In early 2010, the first season, composed of the two-hour pilot and 18 hour-long episodes, is expected to begin airing on the Sci-Fi Channel in the United States.***** My two cents, I thinks its going to be a really inventive series, there was a lot of griping and complaints when BSG was 1st released as an updated version of the original, unless you live in a hole, its probably one the series ever made in recent history, especially for Sci-Fi. So when the 1st episode or Pilot comes out, I'll definitely give it a try. There will be plenty of intrigue, war, violence and suspense involved!!! This is the Official Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQlhlHwXjj0 -
I just lost my lunch watching that!! Ben Affleck should be no where near, mentioned or in plain sight of anything MACROSS!!!!
-
That jacket looks much better on ya Hikuro!!!
-
The 1/72 scale Destroid were made by Imai and they are older kits, late 80's. Maybe a re release in the 90's. but they are pricey if you can find them. But the detail is fantastic even today!!!

Give it time, they might just go for it!!
