If Bandai really wants to cash in on this VF they'll do an Arad Custom as well another run of the CF version, only this time perhaps with a different number or no number at all... apply your own 01, 02, 03, etc. This VF-31A appears to have sold really well, even the ones on Ebay are gone & those were like $385.00 just a week ago.

Macross in the weirdest places
505thAirborne replied to yellowlightman's topic in Movies and TV Series
I was just browsing Ebay for some Macross model kits, some times a good deal pops up and then I saw this on a random auction. -
That VF-31A pic made me think of this!

I was pretty low on funds when the pre-order was open. So I'll probably be stuck getting one at a marked up price.

R.I.P. Stephen Hawking
505thAirborne replied to Valkyrie Hunter D's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Such a brilliant man, just watched him in an interview with Neil deGrasse Tyson on Star Talk. Stephen Hawking, Einstein & Sir Isaac Newton are all having a drink now somewhere in the cosmos. -
Watching it right now.

My Mirage 31C has removable intake covers, can't see why they wouldn't be on this one. Usually Bandai always shows off their Valks with the covers on.

Patience good sir, I suspect that the 31A will be one of the next Holy Grail must have Valks... and you'll soon have three. The wait is worth it.

Kansas City is about 45 minutes from me and none of the shops there carry Tamiya either, so it's online only for me. Look forward to the completed Pegasus! A few months ago I gave up trying to complete Mirages 1/72 Bandai kit, it's a rather fiddly kit IMO, plus the stickers & decals are a pain. So I lightly glued it together in fighter mode since I have Mirages DX version. Not having the funds for three DX 31A's as I had hoped for I decided to free the 1/72 Valk and rebuild it as a VF-31A Battroid. I have a bit of clean up to do and painting yet with five (5) other 31A fighters this will make up for not having a large DX fleet.

I felt my ears burning! I had the same issue with the MKII Viper decals, I ended up spray painting on the red stripes, it beat the frustration of the decals cracking apart. The smaller decals weren't as bad. The decals for the Galactica & Pegasus I felt were much more user friendly... not perfect but good overall. I never got to try the Aztec Acreation decals, but other modelers have sworn by them. That Mercury Class is looking great Thom! (I so miss having a Hobby Shop that carries Tamiya paints).

Saw it in theaters, enjoyed it a lot! If your GF watches it with you, it's meant to be! -
That is spot on to the Bandai DX (if not better). You did a superb job, congrats!
