  1. i wonder how many folks here click "Seller's other items" after winning a bid, and end up with an unplanned purchase. that's what happened here: i keep telling myself i saved some money by maximizing the shipping love the landship though. i wonder if there'll be more from this line...
  2. ooh, nice! i may have to pick one up. non-black/white/silver/red cars are always welcome in my collection.
  3. OT. here's an example of a Prime 1 statue: let's see if they apply the same attention to detail on the VF-1 i know it's not really apples to apples, but i'm starting to warm up to the idea of a VF-1 statue

very nice diorama! at that range, without Roy and Max, the Monster would've been toast. are those 1/100 buildings? where did you get them?
  5. other than the recent Volante in the previous page, i haven't bought an Aston Martin since the ERTL DB5 some years ago. that one hasn't aged so well, and i'm contemplating replacing it with a more recent release. is last year's Hot Wheels Heritage DB5 any good? were there other 1/18 DB5's with the ejector seat released in the past 3 years? here's what got me started collecting Bond cars a decade ago, the Aston Martin Vanquish: i haven't started on the Craig Bond cars yet. i figured they'll be easy enough to get because of their recency. that, and the Craig cars not having much in the way of car gimmicks, means the regular/non-007 Autoart releases will do just fine.
  6. it's detailed and well-made as what to expect from an Autoart model. i would find out later that it's not entirely diecast but is the first in a new line of what Autoart calls "Composites". so it is lighter than it looks, but still quite hefty. as for the actual vehicle, don't really know much about it. i didn't know these things existed until i saw it displayed in the shop. i just happened to be picking up some Acid Rain ~1/18 figures and Alien marines, so i thought it might be cool if i plopped some of them in the back of the truck since it had a paramilitary vibe to it.
  7. nice collection! i should learn from your discipline. i tend to pick up stuff unrelated to my collection. like this: these on the other hand were on my list for some time, particularly the one on top:
  8. nice kitty. come to papa
  9. Prime-1 statues are typically huge centerpieces, think 1/3 human scale. if this comes with an interesting backdrop or base, i might bite. not really high on the want list though
  10. would you say these are ~1/18 or 1/20?
  11. yeah, she's a special one. my current fave (even ahead of the DB5), and maybe all-time, unless the Volante is released. Ebay Toyota 2000GT 007 Autoart 78731 Amazon Non-007 Autoart 78736 i might be wrong, but i think the only difference between the two are the license plates (Japan plates vs. Toyota 2000GT)
  12. only these in 1:18 the rest in 1:18 are by ERTL, Joyride, Kyosho, U3.
  13. Toyota 2000GT from You Only Live Twice and Lotus Esprit from For Your Eyes Only. good price too. ebay seller said they were from an estate liquidation of a 007 nut. too bad i already had the other cars he was also selling. just to share: after a decade of anticipation, Autoart finally released last year an Aston Martin Volante, albeit not a 007 version (red seats not black) as they seem to have lost the license. settled for it in the meantime to fill the gap in my collection. but still holding out hope for a proper 007 version as seen in The Living Daylights lol! they're just the usual Persians. tried to shoo them away and pathetically failed. they are also apparently resin junkies, ignoring the treats i put on the floor and instead kept on sniffing the 1/144 Destroids
  14. i'm floored. great job!
  15. i think you're on to something. the clear is 1/1000 scale. the mecha colle is 1/close-enough
  16. a few pics from wonfes last month
  17. the nice thing about is HLJ is you can cancel/return without repercussions. unless they shipped it already, which is unlikely since they usually take a few days.

i got the recipe wrong. have a pair of Monsters and Glaugs but not enough CFs and Regults. on the latter, i was holding back beefing up the squadron for when they release missile versions and <fingers crossed> scouts.
  19. or any futuristic buildings/architecture. i think Macross City architecture is not distinct enough that it can't be replicated with a mix of generic sci-fi buildings. but if they indeed do it, i'll be all over them for sure. what I really want them to do though, is Olympus city from Appleseed, particularly the arcology buildings. hmmm.. now that i think about it, i have a few of those spider gun platforms. hmmm...
  20. wow! you guys are amazing! more please!
  21. i reckon the more accurate statement is: click "Unread Content" before going to bed, first thing in the morning, and several times during the day for good measure
  22. these are great. a few members have mentioned them previously and I have been hoarding these for a couple of years now. they are also in scale with a number of 1/2500 Trek ships, as well as close enough to 1/2256 Star Wars ships. when I get around to it, i plan to have the SDF-1 in storm attack mode and a Star Destroyer bearing down on it instead of a space cucumber there are also 1/3000 port/harbor sets from Fujimi
  23. couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine spotted a Tsume Zoro statue in a Bangkok shop going for around $300. i had asked him previously to keep an eye out for it. he sent me this side by side pic to confirm it was what i was looking for: as ebay listings are now well north of $1k and i was rushing to catch a plane, i immediately messaged him to get it for me. later after i landed, i realized it was not exactly the same. Zoro looked oddly proportioned. a bit of googling confirmed that it was actually this "Tsume Mini Zoro" : a bit disappointed, but since i was mainly after the tornado i went for it anyway. i thought i would just replace the Zoro figure with a normally proportioned one. when he later sent me pics of the box, yet another surprise: it looked smaller than expected. a bit more googling told me the original at 1/7 scale was 50cm (to top of tornado) while this is 35cm. oh well, so much for my plan to put this on a pedestal as a standalone display. still, 35cm is pretty sizeable, so i'll make the most of this and hunt for a replacement Zoro figure. thing is, i'm not too familiar with POP. can anyone here recommend a similarly posed Zoro figure? maybe 1/10 or 1/12 scale? appreciate any tips/leads. below is the shop front. hope to see it next month when i drop by Bangkok. apparently it's downtown and 2 buildings of toy shops. i don't know how i've completely missed this in all my previous trips, so i'm pretty excited
