  1. ah! i don't count pecks on the cheeks though
  2. woohoo! got payment request from HLJ! VF-25 coming in escorted by Sanka Mk B's
  3. 4? i recall only two, plus one potentially off-screen
  4. 167 hrs and 22 minutes until the finale. this will be the longest wait yet..
  5. there. that would be more interesting, wouldn't it? count me in. actually for me, only DYRL is more beloved than Frontier. even then it's not a fair comparison since one is an OVA, a format which lends itself better for more cohesive storytelling and measured pacing, while the other is a series that provides more room for development albeit potentially at the expense of some uneveness. i love Frontier regardless of its foibles, and it's special for me. it's the first Macross series (heck, any anime for that matter) that i've followed from the first whispers in development, to watching the episodes weekly, and lately even in real time, despite the late hour airing, then to actually participate in a forum with a bunch of interesting people after yearrrrs of lurking. and the music... it's right up there with GitS. if anything, Sheryl finally got me over Minmei.
  6. ah, thanks for confirming. i thought i screwed up with the transformation. i wasn't expecting PT, and i don't mind taking apart and re-attaching parts, but leftover parts just kills it for me, not to mention i'm liable to lose the parts in the future. they could've just made extra parts re-attach to somewhere inconspicuous, or at least a hidden compartment at the bottom of the stand. heck, they could've made the fork attach to the backpack to serve as a stand/support. so much for buying on a whim. i'll do my research next time.
  7. probably not about lower oxygen concentration per se, but more about a general decline in air density (like how air is thinner at high altitudes hence requiring either larger wing surfaces or travelling faster to generate enough lift). paper planes will fly in any appropriate combination of gravity and air/gas density regardless of the elemental composition of the air/gas. in this case, physics governs flight, not chemistry, unlike in lighter-than-air flight (eg. balloons). but all in all, i'd still say it's down to bad paper and lousy origami.
  8. chanced upon an MH VR-41 and picked one up, my first ride armor. are there supposed to be left over parts (front fork and handle bars) after you transform it to armor mode? it looks nice and all (except for yellow's face, hence i got the visor down) but the transformation left me less than impressed.
  9. as some michel fans say: no body=no proof. so no lawn-dart=no proof of crash. i'm just kidding of course. i have to wonder though if that scene has any poetic significance or foreboding of sheryl's fate eg. last defiant push from sheryl before crashing/dying.
  10. lol! dig your new avatar by the way. i just find it irresistible when they do that
  11. if you hop over to the news thread, you will find there are other things far more ominous
  12. could still go either way. that pic is probably sheryl releasing alto from his "duty" (to stay by her side). the triangle might not be resolved until the very last episode, and it might be too late for alto.. it seems increasingly likely that sheryl will push herself to the limit, with potentially tragic consequences.
  13. very likely. were there other references to it in the blog summaries? Yousei is rapidly climbing up my favorites list. i love the mix of sultry and playful sequences. might not be enough to dislodge Northern Cross though.
  14. just got back from HK. no dice. no VF-25. anywhere. looks like it is indeed another week's wait.
  15. thanks TSP. i already know of Toyzone and bought a battleship yamato and some 1/100 macross kits from there a few weeks ago. i'll check out the other stores you mentioned. didn't know sino centre had toy stores beyond the 6th floor. thanks again.
  16. keep the faith boys! it's always darkest before the storm finally breaks.
  17. my girlfriend is not into anime, so she was just reading a book on the couch while i got my fix of episode22 when sheryl started singing "Fairy" and that got her attention. she looked up in time to see gg's lyrics, something about "feathers" and ended up watching the rest of the episode with me. Northern Cross blew her away and now she wants me to get the CDs and lyrics to both songs. i found the Yousei lyrics but the translation dropped the "feathers" angle. anyone got the gg version? or should i just transcribe from the episode? hmm, now that i think about it, my girlfriend's formal name has just a few extra letters to Sheryl, she sings too, not professionally, but at events and the bars we frequent, and aside from not being blonde, looks the part. i think i got my own Sheryl! i must've been alto-dense not to have realized it all this time
  18. ah, thanks! haven't explored that street yet. over several trips to HK i've found very few shops selling scifi kits aside from gundam. only a couple had macross (very few items at that), and have yet to find one carrying MaK.
  19. i'm passing through HK this weekend. on the off-chance some HK shops might already have it on hand, where should i check? CTMA?
  20. my macross purchases are really piling up now and more to come in the last quarter, so apologies, i'll be taking only one lancer instead of two.
  21. ah, you got me there. i subscribe to that too.
  22. what else could be more profound, gubaba? i'm really liking how they're milking every second of air time by having the events dovetail and cut into ED (which i think have been shortened and IIRC the credits appear while some events are still ongoing). that they do this by kicking off the ED song within the episode is a nice touch and gives them the opportunity to use full versions of the songs, albeit with some muting to give way to dialogue. that they select the ED song most appropriate to the episode ending is the icing on the cake. i think they've done this for 3 episodes now. next thing, we might see them shortening the OP and either having the pre-OP sequence meld into the OP, or have the events start while the OP is still playing or replace the OP with a concert or action sequence while they flash the credits eg. pre-op shows MW approaching vajra planet and perhaps some action, then cut back to frontier in a sheryl performance while some characters have some dialogues and the credits flash but mostly during the purely singing sequences, then when the song ends we are at the episode proper.
