Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.5

i'm thinking it might have something to do with how the head is mounted in fighter mode. those parts are in the cavity where the crotch piece settles in. have you noticed if the head in fighter mode sits a little higher with the crotch armor on? -
sorry for the grainy pics... i screwed up something with my ISO settings sheryl and the seven dwarves sheryl and her backup dancers very pleased with the quality of the sheryl fig. it compares very well to the two more expensive and smaller figs. the only overspray i saw was at the top of her panty waistband. even then it was just a very minor blemish, and won't be visible since i won't be displaying sheryl with her skirt off. diva duet (duel?) definitely a better buy than the minmay which is much smaller (had to put sheryl about 15in. behind minmay so they would photograph at fairly same scale). sheryl's just perfect! klan and ranka still under lockdown haven't decided yet whether to keep them or sell. i don't like crowded displays and that might be a problem if i ever get around to building these:

i must be doing something wrong: booster not attaching symmetrically and hip armor does not fully cover intake: can't level the wingroot pieces: help? -

i've got the spike properly latched onto the boosters but there's still a wee bit of the tail fins that are in the cone of the thrusters. i found that i have to "toe-in" the boosters towards the front to get the tail fins clear. not a much of wiggle room though. toe-in too much and the rear tab of the boosters disengages. but yeah, don't force the tail fins. -

that's a fantastic display idea. what stand did you use for the inverted valk? looks like v-shaped acrylic. a brochure standee? my alto superparts arrived yesterday, so i finally took the VF-25F out of the box. was too excited to slap on the superparts, so i didn't bother learning how to transform the valk. now i'm not sure if i i've missed a step as a couple of things seem to be off: 1. couldn't squeeze-in the crotch armor in fighter mode. is this supposed to be possible? 2. can't get the wingroot to level with the fuselage. i think it's because of the calf armor which doesn't seem to completely go through the spaces in the rear part of the fuselage. are the left and right calf armors interchangeable? my hip armors seem to attach ok. not solidly, mind you, but not as loose as others have described. thing is, i think the hip armors conceal the nice detail of the intakes so i'm contemplating keeping them off. though i haven't really played with it yet, this valk seems very solid, and looks damn good, with or without super parts. -
lol! but isn't sheryl pretty much already stripteasing whenever she performs? and ranka... well, there's just not much to see so i vote cathy and grace! (animating klan and nanase might kill the animators due to nosebleed)

many, many thanks shiroikaze. that is a great help. done deal then, i'll go buy that NTSC-J ZOE2. just one last thing: what is "stop" in japanese? might have a mine blow up in face

maybe better to pair Klan with a 1/48 Max? that Max is a real meltrandi killer -
the ladies have arrived! they are much bigger than i thought, and klan.... well, even more! will need to reconfigure my new display cabinet to increase shelf heights.

M7 nearly killed it for me. when i saw spiritia getting sucked from the pilots, i was like WTF?! vampires in macross?! never got beyond that episode, and thought that was it for me and macross. then i saw MII, which while controversial and not at all spectacular, i thought the mecha design was cool, and so i gave macross another chance. and M+ delivered my salvation.

thanks for the info, and yeah, i'm trying to avoid getting another PS2 to avoid clutter, but also because i want to see how ZOE2 looks with PS3 upscaling. now that i think about it, i wonder if my TV (Samsung Series8 LCD) will upscale it anyway even if running off a PS2. there's actually quite a number Japanese ZOE2 floating on ebay. not cheap though, but it seems to be my only option. my PS3 manual says it can play NTSC-J, and a quick check on the sony website indicated Anubis:ZOE2 is perfectly compatible with PS3s that have a product code of CECHE6 which is what i have (80GB Southeast Asia version). unfortunately i don't own any japanese PS2 games and thus have not been able to test. has anyone got ZOE2 to run on PS3s similar to mine? i'm thinking that since i played the game previously, not knowing japanese might not be such a handicap. though there is a portion of the game that might pose a serious problem: the level where one is supposed to navigate through a minefield by listening to the directions and following it to the letter. i'm hoping i might get away with just brute trial and error, or i might learn just those japanese words. but if anyone knows of an NTSC-J release of ZOE2 that is in english, please shout! sigh, i just wish they hurry up with ZOE3 already...
-
not sure if this is the right thread to ask... anyway... after finishing force unleashed, i'm now jonesing for ZOE2. thing is my ZOE2 (european special ed., PAL) won't play on my asian PS3 (i know, shouldn't be a surprise) and i've already given away my old PS2 to a nephew. so my options are: 1. is there now a hack to make PS3 play other PS2 regions? 2. if i were to buy another ZOE2, which version/release is compatible with my PS3 (asian 80GB), and ideally in english? thanks

hal, many thanks for the pics. the photo-comic was absolutely hilarious! glad to see they did indeed tone down sheryl's make up. some of the events display samples had it downright garish. i'm sure over the next few days, curious folks will discover a few more things come off..
-
waa! they attempted delivery yesterday, the one day i decided to go to the office. now i have to wait for monday to have it re-delivered. has anyone got theirs yet? pics? really hoping the final product has toned down colors for sheryl's makeup
-
got shipping notice as well. tres marias on their way.. eh? so those moeyo folks converted it? seems like a lot of trouble for a little boobage.
-
so is that confirmation that the banpresto figures are cast off type and that we can expect the same for sheryl? or is that a completely different toy line?
-

yupyup! please PM me how you want to meet up. i'm in town this week. i would've paid 300 to pre-order the ozma armor, but the bit about not being able to guarantee the order will be filled just plain spooked me. i hear too that bandai is only releasing this directly to japanese toy shops and not to other retailers in asia. don't know how true that is, but that is supposedly why stocks cannot be guaranteed and why the price is a bit higher than expected. -

which shops would these be? TFH charges SGD300 and TnT says they can't guarantee stock -
colony fleet discovers a system with a potentially habitable planet. sends a scout ship to recon. ship reports back that the planet has signs of intelligent, but technologically primitive life. as the scout ship nears orbit, it gets blasted by a strangely familiar beam emanating from an island on the water planet...

i've seen it go for far less. just put it on your search faves. love the stuff on that store, but a good chunk is way above market price. everytime i'm about to buy something there, a much cheaper alternative pops up.
-
gah! i have the gold book and i can't believe i missed it! mr.march's coloring certainly makes those line art images more eye-catching. great stuff!
-
ooh...love that meltran ASS (pardon the pun). did anyone make that into a toy or model? where can i find more images of it?
