  1. i must be getting old. was a big fan of Duran Duran and A-HA during the 80's but even then, i felt A View to A Kill was one of the middling Bond songs and Living Daylights dead last. somehow, i always associate Bond with big band/orchestra. guess i'm old fashioned that way.
  2. what are the general differences between Riobot and Revoltech? are the Riobots bigger? haven't seen any Riobot in person yet.
  3. and i thought this was about a v2 (presumably improved) renewal...
  4. actually, 1/48 would be better for folks with deteriorating eyesight and shaky hands. 1/72 would be for young 'uns who have 20/20 vision and non-arthritic hands, but haven't yet earned enough to afford a bigger pad that can house bigger scales
  5. think of it this way: there are people who have played ZOE2 to death years ago and yet were clamoring for a remake to do the exact same thing all over again. there are extra missions that can be collected and will require at least two play-throughs to get them all. there are also unlockable mechs that you can collect: different versions of Jehuty you can use in your next play-through, and various boss mechs that you can fight in Vs mode (1:1 ala Tekken) after completing the game. there are a lot of subweapons that changes the "feel" of missions depending on which subweapons you bank on frequently, or which you restrict yourself from using. then there are a couple of easter eggs, one of which made me replay a mission a good 10x or so. and what do i get? Marinaris stripping to her undies in the next cut scene or you could just buy it and resell if you don't like it. check out the play-through videos on youtube so you get a feel if you're gonna like it or not.

    DX VF-25G

been trying to resist, but i caved in too when NY dropped it a bit more, from $216 to $210. probably just forex causing the change. i guess an example of how a feather broke the camel's back. if any other members in Singapore want to give in, i saw a VF-25G and Alto YF-29 at a shop in Funan going for SGD340 and SGD530 respectively.
  7. i must be a really terrible player. it took me a weekend to get through ZOE2 on the PS2. but loved every minute of it.
  8. english version i had the shop call me as soon as it got in. worldwide release is Oct30. i probably got it earlier either because of typical singapore efficiency or just because of the time difference. the english collector's editions aren't in yet though. the japanese CE came in last weekend and was tempted to get it because the gold box looked wicked, and bigger than i thought.
  9. just got Zone of Enders HD. the graphics upgrade is nice, though less spectacular than i thought it would be. nonetheless, i'm just so happy being able to play 2nd runner again after all these years a couple of things i noticed: - the anime cut scenes seem to be only in stereo. my AV receiver is on auto-detect so that it decodes according to the input signal ie. outputs stereo if signal is 2-channel, surround sound if signal is multi-channel. so i had to adjust the receiver to force surround sound output regardless of input signal - the cut scenes seem to be a tad shaky. not a frame rate issue, but more like they were shot in shaky cam style. i don't recall them being that way on the PS2, but then again that was years ago, or maybe i'm just so overwhelmed i got dizzy i'm having such a blast with the frantic action that i'm starting to get hand cramps! so i gave it a rest and posted instead..
  10. hope this is at least 1/72-ish
  11. episode 2 of Psych-Pass continues to impress. i thought the BGM was interesting so i looked it up. music is credited to Yugo Kanno. i wonder if there's any relation to Yoko. the animation is really beautiful. not quite Kara no Kyoukai, but it's up there. perhaps the only thing that puts me off is their use of cutesy holo-suits. but then again GitS had tachikomas so i suppose it's alright, perhaps just their way to balance off the serious tone.
  12. thanks for bringing Psycho-Pass to my attention. just watched the first episode and found it promising. i've been jonesing for GiTs like stuff. now if only there was a recent anime along the vein of Noir.... For a while i thought Canaan would fit the bill, but proved disappointing in the end.
  13. can't decide if i'd rather this be in true 1:72 scale (based on pilot size, the bandai ones seem more like HO scale), or that they just make them similarly sized to bandai offerings. it also looks like the 1/100 Monster is still alive: http://blog.yahoo.com/cybergundam/articles/693885/index
  14. for those who can't go, would it be possible to order these 3D posters?
  15. what's that widget that looks like a star gazing app?
  16. that Sheryl poster at the bottom left corner, is it lenticular/3D? saw a 3D poster of that (about A3 size) in HK some months back but missed getting it as the shop was closed at the time. if you or Save know where i can get the 3D poster, kindly PM me. Btw, thank you Save for the Alto Super and Ozma Armor.
  17. they might do a second release for that if RS re-inserts the nude push up scene in the director's cut in the meantime, Vicker's in flight suit with cast-off feature into cryo suit
  18. i hope Hot Toys produce Vickers in flight suit
  19. going by HLJ's description, the chain bases are 100-144 scale. the difference in detail might be apparent though, and these chain bases aren't that much cheaper either if you consider that it'll probably take at least 4, maybe 5 of these for the same floor+wall area of 1 armored factory. having said that, the chain base accessories might look good on the factory
  20. a lot of dough, but that's a lot of robot! but then again, so is the 3A MGS REX. choices, choices....
