    Macross figures

insta-buy crixskn, amiami allows cancellation if you ask nicely. but why cancel on such a beautiful work of art
  2. thanks for the dates. i think though that by the time the Domelus rolls in, there won't be much left of the apartment to obliterate. what with the Polmeria, Gaiderol and the rest of the freaking fleet coming before that =) you know, i thought the Meltoria was going to be my favorite, but when i saw the Haizerad... i think i want it more than the Domelus now now this almost qualifies as nose art: how often do pilot themselves qualify as hot enough to be nose art models =)
  3. i'm with you on 262. then again, part of the reason for my tempered enthusiasm for the 1/72Cosmo Falcon is because i already have a dozen and a half of the 144-ish Dengeki Falcons. was there any mention of the Domelus release date? gotta sell of some stuff to clear storage space!
  4. anyone here seen the new Steins Gate movie?
  5. Homeworld fan, and still here. a bit apprehensive about the result of that bid. would be more at ease if it was Stardock who won the IP.
  6. don't know who makes it, but i first spotted it on YAJ
  7. wasn't expecting pre-orders to be up so soon: any guesses how this Japan version might be different from the US one?
  8. Yukie here: http://mrdtop.web.fc2.com/news_f.html
  9. by miles, actually. but hey, variety is always a good thing.
  10. nice job! i've never seen that scheme before but it looks great. are the 1S schemes any different?
  11. anyone here got experience repainting a PVC figure? i'm looking at having a custom done on the clothes and hair, but not the face and flesh parts. wondering if it's a bad idea or not, as well about a few things: - is it necessary to take off the original paint? or just paint over? the new color is darker than the original. - what solvent to use that doesn't damage the PVC underneath? - i suppose acrylic paint is the safest to use? - anybody interested in a commission?
  12. correct. in the anime, the numerical reading (called divergence number) represents in which "timeline" one is in, among the other possible timelines. kinda like GPS coordinates telling where one is. so if one jumps from a timeline to another with a numerical reading that is not materially different from the last one, then some key events will still be inevitably the same as in the last timeline despite some variations ie. divergence. in real life, the divergence meter is a retro-looking clock that every now and then randomly generates a divergence number just for the heck of it.
  13. ah, thanks for clarifying that. i thought Metroplex and Fortress Maximus were one and the same, like Optimus = Convoy
  14. i still chuckle at the beercan missiles. but that's probably tame compared to the baby throwing scene.
  15. thank you! i've been periodically checking that site for Appleseed stuff, but never thought of searching using the artist's name
  16. i'll try to take pics when i get back from my business trip. did some googling, and found this: i think this is what i saw, but can't be completely sure. so this "Generations" thing, i suppose it's a toy line rather than a TF series? sorry, i'm not up to speed on TF. i just have a thing for centerpiece-size toys.
  17. toy, $500 for Silver Rathalos by Hi-Blitz model kit, $350 for this 1/144 Rebel Transport by Anigrand this Sheryl Black Kimono version by Banpresto may yet be my most expensive toy purchase though, if i ever manage to find one (not bundled with Ranka, that is) edit: i think i spoke too soon. just saw this now: http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w85849235 in case you're wondering what's inside, it's this: somebody, please stop me.
  18. lately, i've been seeing big (~2ft+ tall) boxes of Metroplex at stores, but the pics on the box look far simpler than the one on the video above. are the ones i'm seeing just reissues of the original? or more importantly, is there a release date for the one in the video? just checking.
  19. i want one so bad... anyone one know the scale and manufacturer? where to buy would be best, but i suspect i'll need to trawl YAJ for quite a while to find this one. just curious, why 1/350? other than the Garfish, i don't know of other Macross/Mospeada models in that scale.
  20. can you imagine a full cast in 1/8? damn, that Polmeria's big. i don't know how the parts breakdown will be like, but i got a feeling the box will be big. should've ordered it from HLJ rather than Amiami. for bulky items, i find that HLJ's shipping rates can be 1-2k yen cheaper. so Amiami's additional 7% discount vs. HLJ will only be worthwhile if the item is 10k+ yen and still qualify as SAL small packet.
  21. ehem though to be honest, i'm not sure if it's just a scratch build commissioned for this issue.
  22. aargh... i'm so tempted to click those spoiler tags
  23. sorry, this is OT. but since some of you seem to be trawling japan street shops for yamato valks, if you spot this, please drop me a pm. note this is the black kimono version, not the regular one. thanks
  24. thunder, thunder, thunder thighs! ho!!
