    hey, i thought you said you were only going the read the manga up to the latest televised episode? not like i blame you, as i myself found it extremely difficult to drop the manga until i finished the latest volume of course i agree with your hypothesis for the season ender.

    want to cancel VF-25A preorder on CDJapan. it's already paid thru paypal when i placed the order. does anyone know if CDJ refunds in full or just partial? no mention on their website about whether they apply cancellation penalties or anything.

    USD peaked against JPY sometime in May this year at 1 USD=103yen and has since backed down slightly to 1 USD=99 yen. so i don't think forex had anything to do with the price fluctuation unless you were looking at that figure since the start of the year when 1 USD = 85yen. anyway, this sold out quickly on amiami: i already broke my 1 figure per character rule once for this character, so i guess i might as well break that rule again

    i don't buy a lot of guy figures but i'm going to get that because he's badass. is this the first fixed pose figure from the series? or did i miss news about a Mikasa figure (not counting the posables)?

    damn, that was mean edit: i can't believe i zeroed in on Durararara!! exclusively, even missing out on Macross Edge just beside it. in hindsight, it should've been obvious it was fake. guess that shows just how much i want a Durarara!! sequel

    the Earth Materials Collection is one stupendous art book. i don't think i've been this mesmerized since the Macross Gold Book. 3 things i really like about it: - a lot of the pictures have a human figure silhouette to give a sense of scale (eg. standing figure next to the main guns, or around the catapult deck) - the images/sketches/plans are very detailed, and more importantly, printed big. even the minor mech designs are of a decent size. not like the civilian vehicles in the Gold Book where you have to squint. rather than cramming many small images on a page, they gave these works of art proper due and this is probably the reason why the book is as thick as it is, and in fact just the first of two books. - landscape format. i usually prefer the standard portrait orientation for books since the landscape ones tend to stick out on my shelf. but given that most of the subject matter is more elongated than tall, it really just made sense that they're presented in landscape. this allowed for making prints bigger without having to do 2-page spreads. i'm going to have wet dreams tonight...

    for me it was South of the Border, West of the Sun. the ending lingered with me for a while and i had to feel rather than think through it to sort out what i had just read. anyway, back on topic. just finished Hyouka and it's a rather sophisticated anime with heart-achingly beautiful visuals. having said that, i wouldn't be surprised if some find it boring. also watched Dusk Maiden of Amnesia for a dose of light entertainment, though it did get more involving towards the end which really connected with me and caught me by surprise. then again that may be more due to my personal circumstances. i'm trying to stay away from Monogatari for now as the weekly wait is driving me up the wall. i'll probably wait for each 4-5 episode arc to finish before watching. was a bit disappointed with how Oreimo ended.
