  1. don't forget me too Yeti! i think i was one of the first to line up for that 1/350 Monster. i'd like 2 please. also, just found out from another thread that the dropship contains Regults. can i order a bunch of those?
  2. Outbreak Company has it moments but i wish they left out the conspiracy angle. it was doing well enough without it. Denki-gai no Honya-san ep.05 was hilarious (well, at least the first part was). what do you call the manga style/concept of drawing a female character to be posed or dressed in such a way that panties are not visible but the reader is tantalized with the question: is she wearing or not? answer: Schrodinger's Pantsu
  3. i already have a couple of the garfish. tried to use oyumaru to replicate the legioss, but found the results unsatisfactory. now i'm wondering if i should also get the clam and the dropship. is it too late to get in?
  4. sold! edit: actually, might be good to make those legioss also available as a separate set for those who want additional escorts for the garfish
  5. might be interesting to discuss what animes constitute that 10% ie. shows that strike you as quite original or unique, whether in mecha or other genre. some very good recommendations might come out of that.
  6. this is like a wet dream! you might've meant 1/700 though. i'd be contented with 1/700. 1/350 would be too awesome to comprehend. imagine tiny 1/350 VF-0's or VF-1's on deck. heck, imagine a 1/350 Monster on Asuka! (btw, wasn't one in the works? wonder how that's coming along?)
  7. did you guys spot Voltes V's laser sword? made me chuckle. i've only seen Gundam Waltz and MS Igloo so the designs in Cross Ange are new to me. i like the mechs and how the show is going so far, though a couple of episodes back i was a bit worried that it would devolve into a half season of angsty Ange. glad it seems like she'll be snapping out of it by the next episode. this show reminds me of Mnemosyne because of the combination of gore and overt sexual overtones. got hooked on Hitsugi no Chaika. so far the story seems pretty straightforward, but perhaps only deceptively so. i'm intrigued.
  8. a good friend of mine got one but he didn't have the shelf space so it was on a side table beside the couch. had to put it back in storage because the dog (shih tzu) kept humping it.
  9. this monster doesn't seem much bigger than the 3A MGS Rex which IIRC was ~$500. articulated. with lights. and sound.
  10. that was one of my random pick ups. glad i took the chance. finished watching some weeks back and thoroughly enjoyed it. seems not a lot of folks here are into slice of life anime so i didn't bother to mention it. best not to marathon this one. for health reasons. you might crack a rib or two. it's just frickin' hilarious. i looked for similar shows and found Binbougami Ga which i just finished. got me laughing a lot too, but it's more of slapstick comedy rather than the witty, dialogue-driven humor of BwMK. having said that BG has it's share of very funny dialogue and the parodies of various famous animes got me in stitches. they would pop up in unexpected ways and in unlikely scenarios, making them quite potent. BG has a few melodramatic moments which unfortunately broke the momentum at times. it has a very catchy OP song though seems a second season is in the works. can't wait!

  12. this was the description on MAL: The "dream railway paradise entertainment" story is set in a parallel world where Japan did not privatize its national railways. Naohito Takayama is an ordinary high school boy who dreams of a comfortable future working for the top-rated Japanese National Railways. He is assigned as a trainee in the Railways Security Force full of odd characters such as Sakurai, a troublemaker who hates men. On top of that, an extremist group called "RJ" plots to privatize the Japanese National Railways. that plot described in the last sentence was completely non-existent in the anime. at all. i suppose that last sentence was supposed to make the synopsis more exciting, but instead it just made me dismiss the anime outright. ironically, without that sentence the rest of the synopsis would've been a clearer description that it is a slice of life anime and i probably would've been more inclined to give it a go. anyway, i checked it out and was both pleased and disappointed. pleased because it was an ok enough diversion, and they really went all geeky with the train stuff. disappointed because the fanservice was nowhere near what i thought you guys were describing. HOTD, it's not. pretty tame actually, except for a couple of cameltoe shots. the OP rocks though, and actually, the BGM was pretty good particularly in the last arc.
