    i'm not sure if this still works at amiami, but i noticed from some of my previous orders that if you place PO items with different release months plus a back-ordered item into the shopping cart and then check out, they get lumped together into one order.

    according to HS, that Ultraman fig is 15cm, the building next to him is up to waist high, so 7-8cm. a 5-storey building would be 50-60m tall. so the buildings would be around 1/700 scale. i was hoping for 1/144, but i'll pick up some damaged buildings anyway, under bombardment from 1/700 ships.

    Sylvie @ HLJ is 2500JPY SAL shipping. Nexx @ NY is 3000JPY SAL. for the extra size and weight of the SAP and squires, i find the 500JPY difference acceptable. ironically, Sylvie @HLJ is 1800JPY via EMS. however, i avoid EMS like the plague because (again) ironically, it is slower and more hassle.

    i ordered this nearly a year ago from amiami, but the release date kept being pushed back. finally got it yesterday. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=TOY-SCL2-40364&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_keywords%3Dcarrier+deck%24pagemax%3D40%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D1 at the time i ordered it, i was wondering why it was so expensive (~$50) compared to 1/72 carrier deck bases i've bought which were half the price and twice the size of this 1/144 deck. but i bought it anyway given how rare 1/144 decks are, more so those which come with blast shields. what i didn't realize then and found out when i opened the package, was that this deck had lighting features! had i known then, i would've ordered a couple more, so if anyone can still find this available, please PM me. thanks.

    saw it this morning and still don't know why i pre-ordered. maybe because it's only my second Saber figure. or maybe because the eyes hypnotized me. lol! one of these days i'll have to watch the damn anime. maybe it'll help me rationalize.

    my expectations? i expect to buy anything and everything Macross in the Gimix line. in multiples for good measure.

    crappy or not, i'm getting the VF-2J. unlike the 2SS where one could "settle" for the bandai kit or the GKs, getting hold of the 2J GKs is nearly impossible.

    i was thinking for the waist rotation, or the arm raising. lost the link, but a couple or so years ago i saw a site selling really small, memory wire driven micro actuators. they might be easier to fit in, but the thing though is that they just have 2 states/positions, nothing in between, unlike motor actuators. i don't know if they generate a lot of heat with repeated movements or prolonged stay in the "on" state.
