  1. that's what i thought too, so a secondary confirmation would be nice. however, the fact that the 31 and 171 mechacolle have different lengths suggests an intention for proper scaling rather than box scaling. so maybe there is technically no conflict in the licensing because mechacolle are unfinished kits while Gimix are pre-finished. or this might just be a similar license sharing arrangement like Hasegawa making a 1/72 non-transforming 25 and Bandai's transformable kit version.
  2. yup
  3. drool. i collect these. have about 10 of them from various animes. are they event exclusives? can't seem to find them on the usual websites. i want the SMS and Skull Squadron so bad.
  4. count me in for any and all Vajra
  5. was on the fence because i thought these were box scale, but that Dengeki link spells it out: 1/144. wohoo!
  6. this is the first couple of minutes. took me 17 minutes to transcribe. i hate podcasts and this is only the second one i've listened to. but i thank those who contribute in any way, shape or form.
  7. suspicious video. no cables connected to the TV? not even the power cable? also, the only cat i've seen that doesn't react at all to a loud noise
  8. that is so cool! congrats!
  9. my electronics skills at the moment are limited to connecting speakers to the AV receiver and putting batteries into the remote but one day i will put my EE classes to good use

thanks for clarifying. i guess that makes the Kaiyodo Gashapon Regult definitely smaller than 1/144, but not small enough to be 1/350 (btw, wasn't MechTech making those?) dang, i blew quite a bit of cash hunting down those gashapons when i should've been getting the Revo's

if the HMR in the middle is supposed to be 1/100, then that makes the two Revo's on the right more like ~1/144. i know the Revo's were released as non-scale but i also recall some reviews state they were 1/100-ish was there ever a Scout variant of the Revo?
  12. imagine if the sound unit wasn't just for the afterburners, but also for the buzzsaw gunpod effect.
  13. any Delta events planned in mid-May? planning to hit Osaka and Tokyo
  14. would you guys know which Iron Man armors have removeable chest plate AND non-helmeted RDJ head? i foolishly bough the Gantry without the MkIV, which is now hard to find these days. edit: or are there places where one could get just the RDJ head? am considering the Armor Unleashed version then just slapping RDJ's head on it
  15. oh wow! shame it was only for a pachinko game rather than a full on remake.
  16. i thought i had seen everything, then this comes along
  17. oops, my bad. is this the one: i was hoping for a revolver that would be manifested on the external design of the ship.
  18. ooh, got pics/links? sorry, haven't watched any Evangelion so i wouldn't know what to search. my curiosity is more on the design aesthetics, rather rather than the in-world functionality. for Yamato in particular, i agree that a rapid multi-shot WMG would be anti-climactic and very OP. what i had in mind though was not on WMG level, and more of a retrofit for smaller vessels on an assault mission, say, against a titan-class ship or space station, but do not have the powerplants to support such heavy assault weapons. destroyer or frigate class ships load up on cartridges then jettison them after the initial salvos to regain mobility.
  19. i like the idea of a 6-shot revolver turned into a ship
  20. funny how 1/35, one of the most established scales, actually had a very arbitrary origin. Tamiya decided to design a motorized Panther tank model as small as possible, but big enough to accommodate the motors and batteries. after it was produced, they wanted to make other tanks in the same scale. and only then, went and measured a real-life Panther. turns out to be 1/35
  21. 1/72 and 1/48 would seem odd from a metric mindset but is pretty natural from an imperial measurement perspective, ie. a certain fraction of an inch to represent a foot, or more simply, a small marking on the ruler to represent the entire ruler. just so happens different rulers are popular in different parts of the world
  22. Machinen Krieger is mostly 1/20, Micro man posable figures, also a fair bit of Formula 1, and a huge number of gashapons and trading figures of various subjects are actually 1/20 ish. Japan single handedly popularized 1/60, 1/100, 1/150 and a number of "odd" naval scales. Mechtech summed it up nicely. just because we don't see a lot of something in our respective parts of the world, doesn't mean it's not huge elsewhere
  23. yes it's vol2. don't mind if it turns out to be covering just the movie. i suspect i'll drool all over it anyway
  24. haven't seen PO yet at HLJ, AA, HS. if someone comes across this at those places, please shout Space Battleship Yamato 2199 vessels precision machinery art book HYPER MECHANICAL DETAIL ARTWORKS Vol.2
