  1. I was pretty tempted when I saw these but I restrained myself not just because they are Mega Bloks but because I already have some McHalos. Kudos to Mega Bloks on these sets though.
  2. Well, update 2.41 did not brick but overclocked my cheap blu-ray rom in my Launch PS3 so it burnt out (symptoms similar to the PS2 disc read error) and two of my friends had their launch PS3 power supplies fail because they're cheap and underrated for all the power draw. That's just from my personal experience though.
  3. Well I've got the MSIA 1.0, MSIA 1.5, MSIA 2.0 the EMSIA and several variations under those and this release still has it's own charms besides the obvious wide variety of accessories (that none of the other action figures have had?). and this is why we can't have nice things:lol: I'll be getting those too but honestly the Stark Jegan and the Sniper II really can't be outdone at this point in terms of massive want on my end.
  4. RD RX-78-2 finally http://ngeekhiong.blogspot.com/2010/08/robot-damashii-other-mecha-items-from.html
  5. Having seen most but not all of the new BSG I personally feel that series did what it did in a much more entertaining/engaging way than Universe is by trying to emulate BSG in some ways. Like Kung flu I felt the last few episodes were much better than the rest. I don't want to make any crazy wide sweeping statements but maybe they realize they were starting to alienate their previous following and so they are now moving to address that situation.
  6. I'm not saying you're wrong Eugimon but talking down to people isn't going to change their opinions (great link btw). I will say there is probably a difference in contracting a company in Florida to construct your molds and already having a business relationship with someone in China but there's obviously no accounting for all the variables. For anyone who wants a Regult like the Qrau, shame on you! The Qrau was a terrible toy when it was released and it's still a terrible toy now. I don't care what the facts are that surround it's creation and if it cost Yamato more than they charged for it originally it doesn't change the fact it's a bad piece of plastic. I doubt an equivalent effort would really please people who would actually buy it and we'd just have members in here with pitchforks and torches complaining about it. The Regult does look like a great product (cost excluded) but Resin DIY kits are pretty much out of my area of interest. I've never even really considered the resin Mechwarrior/Battletech or Warhammer 40K models. Good thing too probably since the new injection plastic Thunderhawk Gunship is not only tons cheaper than the resin one it also looks better
  7. I played the original mod and gave up following Infested info a long time ago and I was pleasantly surprised when it was announced for steam. Played through the one campaign a few times now and I have to say it's a lot more approachable now than it was before. Kudos go out to Black Cat again.
  8. Just in case anyone one here missed this http://www.disgruntleddesigner.com/chrisc/secret/weekly/Stars_of_the_Family_Computer.html Pretty interesting overview of an old book about Nintendo's early efforts. In personal retro related news, I happened upon a copy of Phantasy Star III a little bit ago. Now I just need to find my Genesis!
  9. If you haven't already read this http://www.vintagecomputing.com/index.php/archives/189 The pic above is actually from that article. Pretty sure besides the mentioned heat, oxygen, light and the chemical additives the plastic batches probably aren't consistent hence various parts/locations yellowing differently. I've got two SNES systems myself and they've experienced yellowing in drastically different degrees and locations. Same can be said for my unevenly yellowed Yamato 1/60 Ver1 Hikaru VF-1A for that matter as it's all spotty
  10. Yes, although not every retailer actually charged that obviously.
  11. I'm not sure about the whole production run though of course.
  12. I tried to show it in my slide but yes the TV version has a more vibrant and clear visor than my original DYRL.
  13. I actually liked the second season and the Live action version as well ( a pity Aoi isn't in the LA). I don't want to steer you wrong because they're still probably what you would consider repetitive but at least I didn't notice any nosedives in quality in either of them. Anyone else get either of the new(er) Gundam movie boxsets? Original or Zeta?
  14. This happened to me all the time when something came USPS. I sat in my living room on the couch watching tv because I already knew the package was out for delivery and what do you know I go out to check the mail eventually because noone knocks and it's past 12pm and there's a note. Only once has a certain "mailman" knocked appropriately and it was a substantially large and expensive package he probably had to take care of appropriately. So I can understand your frustrations and honestly your best bet is to hope for a new driver as this has alleviated some of my rage more recently... In topic related news I received my TV Roy yesterday and it looked excellent in package. Further overly critical observations are forthcoming when I actually have the time to handle it more today. I'd have to agree with other posters that the base colour really "pops". EDIT: Here's a quick slide with comparison shots with DYRL Roy My shoulder pins are smooth btw. Not sure if you can tell from the crappy shots or not.
  15. Fringe is one of the few shows I sometimes go out of my way to make sure I watch. It's not the greatest thing I've ever seen on tv but I like the balance between self contained and overall plot episodes. I also like Joshua Jackson (he was in movies not just Dawson's Creek lol) so I'm sure that helps. I'd have to agree the series doesn't really get rolling initially so it does take some investment of your time.
  16. @D_unit and Cyclone Trooper Excellent setups ups! I need to paint some detailing on my bases as well and I like how Cyclone has added detail without "over doing it" which is what I'd like to do myself. The base grey the sets are molded in is pretty good already for a base IMO. The sets are all supposed to be 1/144. I have the Trailer Base 001 and it's just slightly larger than the 1/144 Gundam trailer truck I have (not assembled) I would like to get the Trailer Base 003 as well. I probably should hurry before it gets discontinued or something.. Gundam Trailer http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN903906
  17. Yes! Pretty much all the beat em up scrollers are a lot of fun. Bad Dudes, River City Ransom, Final Fight, Altered Beast, Battletoads, Streets of Rage etc.. The genre is kind of dead now but I see a few still trickle by. They're great because of the Co-Op and easy pickup.
  18. I've wanted a 22 since I saw Macross 7 many years ago and I never thought I would get the opportunity to buy one especially from Yamato. Initially I jumped on the 21 because just like the first time around I figured Yamato would never get around to it and I have to really thank them for taking my money and delivering a truly excellent high end transforming figure for the most part. Of course unlike some lucky people I payed MSRP for all these but I don't feel ripped off in the least. I have Blue Gazer!
  19. The colours are a lot nicer than the version 1 for sure.
  20. That's a pretty detailed 1/6th camera. Which brand and/or set is it from?
  21. I love that, have to resist playing it at work all the time. I kind of want to try replaying the D&D Gold box games but for the life of me I can't remember where I put them and even if they are "PC compatible". I originally had a Macs..
  22. After some googling model#AGS-101 appears to be the proper nomenclature for the newer SP. Personally I have the micro instead which is about on par with it in terms of lighting so I cannot confirm the model number. The micro is great for anything not to involved like RPGs but not so great for action titles because of the smaller ergos obviously. Growing up my Mother had a system that only played pong (or a clone) for the life of me I can't remember what it looked like (googled around a bit) just what it actually did. These days I guess it would be closest related to those all in one cheapo systems that current children would probably not even attempt to mask their disgust with when receiving as a present Anybody a fan of NES Silk Worm? It was interesting at the time because you played as a helicopter and/or a jeep in a side scrolling shooter.
  23. @Renato Unfortunately we never received any of the backlit Nintendo handhelds in North America until the SP(?). We just had to make due with various maglight and wormlight peripherals. Battletech preceeds mechwarrior timeline wise, basically before the clans. Growing up one of my friends had Metal Warriors for SNES, which is an excellent game if a bit difficult at times. I remember vividly how he would yell out "Prometheus!" when he would find one in a stage. Unfortunately I do not personally own the cart but should I ever happen upon one in person I will certainly leap upon the opportunity to own it. 24. This last episode was a little better IMO, at least there was some actual "military" action. Although the application of any actual military tactics is questionable. When is Eli going to stop gushing all over Chloe though? Yes, the double entendre is intentional.
  25. I could never be Golgo 13 for Nes because of this. The NES would always freeze before I could finish the game. Also the battery in my copy of Zelda II The Adventure of Link never worked properly even when it was brand new. What a pity that is/was. But if you beat it you can put your name in the high scores and it won't save it! lolI just picked up a mint Gameboy (fat) with case, original headphones, link cable and the official Nintendo battery pack for $20 at a Flea Market. I already have a Gameboy but this one was in slightly better condition and was cheap to boot.. Incidentally someone was selling a green case Gameboy there too, totally forgot they made alternate colours of the fat version. Also picked up a copy of SNES Mechwarrior and what a delightful gem that game is, not at all like I remember
