  1. MWorld you have disappointed me. I came in here expecting to see the usual alarmist (but poetic) posts about the sinking of Yamato or outrage about how member X payed Y more for whatever item not too long ago All that aside I'm pretty tempted by the armoured VF1-J. Still haven't pulled the trigger on one of those due to quality concerns among other things.
  2. One of mine cracked all the way down the middle shortly after I got it (kind of spider webbed from one arm hole to another) and I headed previous MWorld thread warnings not to over tighten them In it's defense it still works but I glued it just in case.
  3. taksraven and >EXO< already posted exactly what went through my mind...
  4. I obviously can't say I'm surprised about the cancellation of the show considering my criticism. I am a bit sad though because I feel Rush/Robert Carlyle had a lot of potential and it's essentially been wasted.
  5. I listened to Episode 4 and thanks I always enjoy hearing what peoples GI Joe experience has been like Internationally. Being a long time but not current GI Joe collector (does anyone ever really stop ) it's really interesting to hear about the interest GI Joe drums up around the world. About the Defiant.. having been and still remaining the owner of one I have to warn you regardless of what people on forums may "choose" to remember it is an exceptionally fragile toy made with much brittle plastic. Mine literally had pieces falling off from just sitting in my room as a kid. Not to mention the rasie/lower mechanism never properly worked. The Defiant itself however isn't too bad and I've always really liked the look of Payload. Pretty much all the figures you listed were figures I remember fondly and still really enjoy today but my top two would have to be Shockwave (1988) and Hit&Run (1988). I have picked up the newer Shockblast (2009 V2) incarnation of Shockwave and the articulation certainly is a marked improvement but the look/feel just isn't the same.
  6. The TV Roy has smooth shoulder pins (at least mine did) Here's a clickable slideshow comparing the Strike DYRL Roy with the stand alone TV Roy Personally I prefer the TV Roy but be aware the white will inevitably yellow over time.
  7. How reliable is ANN? http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2010-02-08/votoms-case-irvine-votoms-finder-ovas-revealed Yeah, since nothing but original Votoms(CPM) has been released with English subtitles I'd say that's a safe bet too.
  8. For the Sniper II lovers the RD certainly leaves a lot to be desired with it's pretty meager fit and finish. Decals like you've done (and maybe some weathering?) really go a long way. I've been contemplating using my Child of Mecha (now defunct) WD decal sheets to bring up to par my WD versions when they come out but I'm not sure I'd want to waste something irreplaceable. Here's a slideshow for shots I took of mine with other series weapons/etc.
  9. This is MW we're always bent out of shape about the price
  10. I'm not sure if it's better to discuss in here or the general anime thread? but does anyone have any thoughts on Phantom Arc? It's pretty nostalgic and I think I might actually enjoy it more than Pailsen files but the action is kind of lacking for the most part. Also where's all the merchandising
  11. I had given it some thought as well. In the TV series the only thing really mentioned/shown is that being bitten (but not outright killed) somehow causes an extreme fever. This fever apparently kills the affected party. The cause of the fever could be unrelated to the zombie infection I suppose? A reanimated rotting corpse is probably a veritable breeding ground for all kinds of nasty things. The deviation from the comics bothers me a bit but I appreciate the way the sex has been removed or toned down from the original. I felt it sort of detracted from the "big picture" in the comics not to mention how cliche some of it was.
  12. @F-ZeroOne Too bad there's not a super posable Ataru to grope back @Mercurial Morpheus Is that the nicest Shiki figure that's been made? I got a new (to me) enclosed cabinet and I've placed the majority of my female figures in it to some success. clickable slideshow with questionable quality images
  13. It's supposedly a CoD type game. http://kotaku.com/5692552/rumor-biowares-new-mass-effect-is-a-multiplayer-spin+off

  15. I need to go take some good shots but I already had these saved.
  16. At least with a minimag it's not a semiauto so it eliminates some of the problem. My Mother had a .22 mag (among other things) when I was growing up and we never had any problems. It's still fine today. Never really had any problems with the lever actions either but that's all anecdotal and YMMV. Sometimes ammunition type/manufacturer is everything. Going along with the earlier theme of blatant compensating I'd go for either a .454 Super Redhawk/Raging Bull or the obligatory 10in Deagle with massively unnecessary huge optic for the Zombie apocalypse. Not really applicable to the walking Dead Universe though were you'd probably want something light that makes a lot less noise
  17. Episode was good but I found it to be very predictable. Seems like common enemies and tragedies are finally going to bring all the characters together at least temporarily.
  18. It's certainly taken some license with the original source info. A bit too much marketing/product placement too maybe but I don't think it's really hurt the base concept too much. I was raging in my head though because no one was bothering to reinforce or barricade the doors Beretta obviously lists some pretty positive views of the 92 series (http://www.berettausa.com/products/model-96a1/default.aspx)
  19. You could always get a .22 mini mag or go the .25 route. I've heard the ".22 bounce around more inside" disseminated quite a few times including on First 48 fairly recently but I'm no ballistics expert personally. I'm sure a 9mm is all you need in The Walking Dead verse though.. for the zombies at least Make sure and get some Hogue grips!
  20. I just don't want to post a lot of negative comments This last episode was tolerable but not great but hopefully will lead to a less whiny Eli . Things certainly seem to be heading for another meltdown on multiple fronts thanks mostly to Rush which could be interesting...
  21. I've only read 25 (it was a big hardcover a friend lent me) of the issues and while there's a lot to like about a comic/graphic novel approach to a Zombie Survival scenario it seems to focus too much on forced sexual situations. It just reminds me too much of ubiquitous shower scenes for horror/suspense flicks of which there was at least one of in the volumes I read I still have some hope the TV series will be the new Definitive live action Zombie Survival scenario though.
  22. It doesn't bother me much personally but apparently it bothers Tomino. Of course he was forced to put a lot of stuff in he didn't necessarily intend to originally.
  23. Yes, there is absolutely no consistency in the crew's behavior imo. Well.. Eli is mostly consistent I suppose but he's the exception really. Everyone just comes off as really petty and contrary just to be contrary if that makes any sense.
  24. Cucuruz Doan's Island does have some serious QUALITY animation as the saying goes but it is also rather silly plot wise for a supposed real robot series. So I guess overall it's really embarrassing for Tomino much like the G-Armor... It is the only time I think we encounter a Tin Cod(?) in the TV series.
