  1. A lot of PSP games (for example Initial D) have English language manuals in the "Asia" release version. Places like Play-Asia.com usually carry the Asia version in addition to the JPN version. I just took a quick look and even the PS3 Initial D game for the Asia region has an English manual.
  2. Needing a fully charged battery is a safety measure that protects you from having a battery die midway through the update process frying your PSP.
  3. Actually I know someone that worked in the North American PS3 localization team for PS3 and in doing so worked on compatibility. Very few games from PS2 were tested and troubleshot to work (mostly just the best selling games) and even less PS1 games were tested. I was told specifically by him that I could expect most PS1 games "to crash on startup". This is of course in reference to the original model that had a PS2 chip on the board not too sure about the newer model that uses an emulator as I don't have one but I'll ask next time I see him. Off the top of my head I know Star Ocean Second Star Story worked in my PS3 but a few of the budget titles I have like lego racers and rock raiders just crashed.
  4. もちろんファイター形態でも頭がこんにちわできます lol how colloquial
  5. The only 1/60 I have that's noticeably yellowed is Hikaru's 1A. Which is why it is in battroid hiding under the armor. As you said though relatively no light exposure and it's seriously yellowed in spots as if I chain smoked in my home...
  6. ruskiiVFaussie, beware earth quakes and very large people that walk too near your display cabinets...
  7. Also if they could get them to be larger and still retract as IMO they are too small on the old one.
  8. I can make no promises but I am attending SDCC and if I have the opportunity I will pick these up. If I do I will let you know after the con. If you've already got some from another source it's no big deal as I know peeps I could give them to as gifts anyway.
  9. He might just be some kind of support character that isn't actually playable but that's just conjecture. In GB at least every character that has an in game portrait is a playable character. There are of course additional characters without portraits that show up in game with just their katakana name above the units head pointing out they are a unique character.
  10. It's not so much that it's strange but rather I wanted to emphasize the point because a lot of people I've talked to about it IRL had no idea that it was a game based issue. The PSP is one of my favourite pieces of video game hardware I own but I want people not to be mislead by Sony's listed but not clarified features. It would only be fair considering arguably the majority of previous games have favoured fighter mode in most levels. Not saying it's a bad thing as I enjoy airborne levels to ground based ones unless I'm Destroid of course Based on my Gundam Battle series experience though unless the levels are substantially larger than the GB ones you will reach map edges very quickly. I hardly ever use transforming units like the Asshimar or Zeta in GB for this very reason.
  11. Yes increased cache does make games load faster but only if the game supports this feature The disk door on the slim model is not spring loaded so it does not have an eject button per se (not a big deal) Web browsing is always hit and miss as the psp doesn't have enough power to get on every site regardless of model. The battery life is deceptive. Yes the slim is more power efficient but because it also ha a new slimmer battery it is actually less! So in order to get the best battery life you must buy one of the new stamina battery packs that come with the larger battery cover and put that in the system to really get "extended battery life". I'm having trouble reading some of the characters because of the image size, should be -HP -ranged attack -melee attack -speed -boost -balancer -turning (speed ?) -radar range
  12. Yes and no. My Japanese PSP has additional features but none of these features have support in the US. These features generally require a sort of setup PSP specific WiFi hot spot which of course there are none of in the US. Of course I still have the ability to enjoy it's awesome Blue colour
  13. That could be cool, Better hope they make one. Shouldn't be a stretch since they've done a Gundam one already.
  14. Like I said a 1/60 vf-1s Strike was about $90 on HLJ and I've seen the naked 1/60 valks in the $50-60 range. Not that it matters as the V2s are a huge improvement based on the information we've been provided but they still however are more expensive relatively. People can argue about it all they want because that's the human thing to do but I'll reserve any pricing concerns until after I own at least one to compare against a V1 to decide if I feel it's over priced.
  15. Obligatory buys, patiently awaiting a Phalanx.
  16. About $90 on HLJ. Naked 1/60 valks could be had at cons and shows for around 50-60 IIRC.
  17. Take a look at http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/ or http://www.xbconnect.com/ Basically tricking the PSP to use ad hoc over the internet. I could dig a Macross themed PSP but in all likelihood the price and limited availability of most Japanese themed PSPs would make it kind of infeasible. I'm still waiting on getting a new Jap blue or red slim line but I haven't been impressed by the options at the moment. Almost got the Star Ocean PSP but I opted to wait for something nicer.
  18. I'd buy a "Pink Peckers" variant in a heart beat just for the novelty value.. or a C with Protect Armor. Kinryu kicked some major ass.
  19. Aesthetically the 21 plus Guld Bowman has more guts than Isamu. Toy qualitywise I'm unsure but the 19 does have a better looking battroid mode. Being a Black Widow II fan though I prefer the 21 fighter over the 19's fighter.
  20. If this game is half as good as all the Gundam battle games (which I own) I'm going to cream myself. Only bit of concern for me is the implementation of the analog/directional pad and level sizes. I can't see level sizes being the same as they are in the battle series as this would seriously hinder playability but if they do expand them well I'd like to see that carry over to Gundam Battle as well. If anyone is worried about replay value they shouldn't as I pick up my GB all the time and am satisfied playing anywhere from minutes to hours. The unit tuning and pilot skill levels give you a reason to grind out on lower levels if you're so inclined over and over and at least for me it doesn't get tedious at all. Also using certain techniques the psp can be tricked into playing over the interment so technically you guys could probably set something up for all the MWers.

    VF-OS or VF-0A

Well that may be true but in all the years I've been ordering from HLJ (Gundam stuff mostly) not once have I had any problems. No damaged packages upon arrival or messed up orders. Plus on occasion they have some REALLY nice closeouts.
  22. Those were my thoughts exactly, right down to possibly buying a 21 at Comic Con but yeah I look forward to repaints, most likely being a VF-X one because they still have rights to that right?
  23. It's more annoying when they don't actually fire or totally miss for no particular reason.
  24. I guess you do have to jerk it off.
  25. Yes. The old 1/60 scale VF-1 line required parts to be removed/installed to complete the transformation process like the legs for example. The new line does not require this and looks.. sexier?
