  1. The intake covers work really well on VF-1 which enables you to do both details in battroid mode and fighter mode. There is no way that you can do a hinge for the cover to go up and down, needless to say once you lock it in place there is no way you can push it back. Another thing is the cover have to magically enlarged to cover up the intake or else there is no room to store the cover in fighter mode too. So I think the current optional swap cover works great.

    Question re: HLJ

If you mentioned the problem is on VF-1D in the first place then you probably don't have to send it back. You probably will have the same problem again from the replacement if you can't figure out the extra instruction insert that comes with VF-1D on Hikaru figure.
  3. They work pretty well for me. I thouht you have to pay full amount at OD for any purchase?
  4. I'm not quite following here.
  5. Found these pictures, just to share:
  6. I do feel so, basically a scaled down and less details version of Yamato's.
  7. I check the specification of VF-19 Kai, it's 15.48M in height, at 1/100 scale will make it stands about 15.48cm in toy form. The VF-1 is gonna be 14cm in toy form, I could be wrong but both toys might look quite close in height with 2 cm difference so I think the price range will be close.
  8. It might be around 6000~7000 yen....
  9. There is no problem on M&M but attention and care are needed when transforming the valkyries to battroid mode since lots of white area are painted in between chest plate and back plate. I don't know about you but my eyes are sensitive on scale so mixing scale won't work on me and I have never got myself any 1/48. I have every release of V2, but M&M is a bit tight on the backpack hinge. The SP goes in nonetheless.
  10. I tried it again, it finally goes in and clip in place. It is slightly harder for M&M, my other V2 snaps in easily. I always use the protective transparent tape from the landing, paste it on the tail fins that will meet with the two small antenas to protect the paint, it works. Agreed. I also notice another problem on M&M that when you place the fast pack with the connecter in place, you will see 2 scuffs on each side of the back plate when you remove the fast pack. Unlike other's in white or gray color, the red and blue colors make the scuffs much more visible.

    macross sdf 1

Do you have reference where you get these pictures? It looks like the Yamato's 1/2000 SDF-1. These pictures are trying to telling the R&D process of the SDF-1, from CAD to resin prototype. They are fixing some bugs on prototype then get it fixed with CAD design before it gets to mass production.
  12. Is it just me but I am having hard time to attach the super parts with the "bridge" or "connector" for the super parts. Basically the connector won't slot into the hinge of the backpack. I don't have problem with others V2 I have but both my M&M have this problem. It seems like the backpack hinge on the valkyries is wider on M&W. Anyone?
  13. It's been confirmed that the HI-Metal VF-1 is 1/100 scale, about 14cm tall.
  14. +1, I have every V2 release from yamato and I really don't see the point of getting them from Bandai, probably get the VF-1S as comparison. I've been waited long enough to see Bandai release a new mold on VF-1, but they never did and I basically give up Bandai with disappointment. The dream came true untill I see yamato in 2001 with V1. It was gorgeous, 1/48 was even better, but the V2 is probably the best VF-1 toy. Screw bandai. I think the Hi Metal VF-1 will probably same size as the 1/100 VF-19, which make it very likely in around 1/72 scale.
  15. If you look at the very bottom then it will tell you why. Uses The potential uses of this plastic are many, such as for things that are impractical to fix on a regular basis, like parts deep inside air plane wings or space ships. It is due to the possible applications of this plastic in the field of aeronautics that major funding for this research came from the United States Air Force Office of Scientific Research
  16. seriously I hope they do come out with some other paint schemes like they did in 1/48 line instead of endless weathering special on existing scheme.
  17. it seems to me that they have a different level of weathering method now without rigid panel lines. It looks much cleaner than the one they had on Max VF-1S.
  18. Probably not something new and have been posted before, but this is how it would look like if a movie is gonna be made... http://henkei.jp/cm/index.html
  19. well, this is the reason they always includes the clause "Finished product may not look identical to what they show in the box arts". It makes sense because you are not able to get production sample picture for advertisement and box art design. It'd be too late when you finally get production sample to do that. And you can't run 1 or even 100 pieces in low volumen from assebly line.
  20. agreed, but I still hope the metal get primed to paint matched the body, that's the 2% change I hope.
  21. Yamato doesn't make any series or movie on macross either.
  22. Both statements contradict each other. where is punctuation?
  23. agreed, but there is already one with improper thread topic though. Hope mod can change the topic: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=31630
  24. The pictures here don't do justification. It's a paint over sample plus some CG work. If you see the nosecone, it has the black marking stripe on gerwalk mode but "disappear" in other mode. We still don't know how it might look like, what is painted or what is not.
