  1. All the sudden I see update in my mailbox on this thread, and I thought it has a release date now.....
  2. some said they can tell from naked eye by looking at the hinge on toy, but I say the most conclusive way is to push the pin out to determine.
  3. Many Yummies are backorder now.
  4. I see, I guess the supply on the 1/48 scale is very limited from the begining. However, what Yamato did on the weathering is very different on both scales. They somehow use light gray to do the effect on 1/48 scale with satin surface, but they do darker shade of gray on 1/60 and retain the original surface. The weathering effect on 1/60 scale is lightly done, while they show heavy hand on 1/48 scale.
  5. oldman, kicker, do you guy get the weathering fastpack? I got my weathering fast pack in 1/60 that I wanted finally. The 1/48 comes with water slide decal pre-applied, but the water slide decal still on sheet. Nice and neat.
  6. I don't understand why people are comparing it with Yamato? It's like comparing a 12 years old boy with a full grown aldult. Toynami may be a good candidate?

    Yamato 1/60 VF-X

Awesome, so which part of the paint scheme on valkyrie is painted on? The darker gray or lighter gray? Or combination in various parts?
  8. Thanks god it's a Bandai, or else people will start pressing the panic button everywhere on the board.
  9. The pilot that doesn't in scale with the valkyrie is a major gripes on the Hi-metal VF-1J, the pilot in VF-1S is getting slight larger and beefy. Of course, there are things like "tiny feet", "huge gap" in between the chest plate and intake due to elongated fuselage etc, which are subject to personal's preference or dislikeness, IMO.

  11. Yes, there is a picture of Yamato version standing side by side with Bandai/Takatoku version couple pages back.
  12. Yamato really need to fire the current designer and have someone else do the box art... it's the weakest part of their toys.
  13. yes, everyone has their own preference so enjoy your own toys that meet your "perfect toy" by definition. There are people who after a durable toy like figure and live with some missing gimmicks, but there are people who after for better rendering and craftmanship. I like the Hi-Metal line and it's probably the best VF-1 toy ever made in its scale, but it doesn't fall into my expectation as Yamato V2 does. It's very unfair though to compare the Hi-Metal line with Yamato V2.

  15. +1 Yamato probably done the best toy design from the rendering. The VF-19 is bulky and stubby.
  16. yes I do know the difference, which is why I was asking whether the re-release is new crotch or old crotch.
  17. What do you meant by much improved? There are only 2 versions of the crotch system, so these reissue is new version?
  18. Old man, did you grab the re-release TV Max VF-1A, TV Kakizaki VF-1A and CF VF-1A came out in July? Is there any box difference? What are the crotch system on those?

    Yamato 1/60 VF-X

Yamato is releasing the AB in limited run, but ain't the AB is VF-1A in the show? Why would you want a VF-1D?
  20. So you hope that the Dyrl version won't sell well so yamato will do 50% price slash before the line died out. At the meantime you hope that Yamato will do the TV version to make the same mistake again to get 50% off? If nobody support the line then how possible could we see more products?
  21. wow, that VF-171EX is awesome from its background.

  23. Like everyone said, open them all and have fun with them. What is the point of buying the toy? If you want to keep one MIB, then you should get extra copy of each. In your case, choosing YF-21 over VF-22S or vice versa doesnt serve the purpose of keeping any of those MIB since they are different and you only have one each...
  24. Anybody deal with Overdrive recently? Seems like they have not updated their site for a while.
  25. I like the idea to have Deadalus and Prometheus as optional accessaries in the package. In DYRL timeline both Deadalus and Prometheus were destroyed by Zentraedi after Hikaru and his crews took off, IIRC. If only one SDF-1 has to be made, then it must be the DRYL version because of the souped up details, well it's been confirmed. After Yamato release the regular SDF-1, I am pretty sure the weathering version will follow the path instead of TV SDF-1.
