I actually have all 3 kits, but I'm ten thousands miles away from home which I never had chance to look at them. Making sense? It didn't even make sense to me on the VF-1S kit, why would they put any schemes that already been released as assembled toy form on decal? They should have put some real life aircraft schemes (license issue I assume) or other Macross squadron schemes.

I guess there are concerns on the die cast shoulder hinges, which is probably the weakest joint of the toy. Fair enough, I've never bought any 1/48 and I will not buy them in future because of the difference that I mentioned. Some people like the bigger chest, elongated fuselage, saggy shoulders, bulky legs, but I hate those in 1/48. Besides the physical proportion, the 1/48 toys are what Yamato regarded as their G2 toy line and I'm not a big fan on these G2 toy line.

I do feel that it's camera aberration. Yamato did a spectacular paint jobs on their V2 M&M, VT-1 and VF-1D, you basically can't tell from naked eyes on which is painted, and which is molded. The camera still pick up different shades of color though.
