  1. No. That is the Yellow Sub version.
  2. I'm seriously thinking about it. And thanks but I already have plenty of cereal boxes. ]{ish
  3. Beat you to the punch. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=20787 ]{ish
  4. Yes I did! ]{ish
  5. I did all this by eye using a 1/4000 scale resin kit from Yellow Submarine. Originally I had already built the A.R.M.D platforms a year ago and never had a chance to finish the rest of it. So by using the platform and the kit, I came up with this scale. Unfortunately the scale came up a little off and had not notice it till I was almost done. I know for some here you would think it's perfect, but by comparing it to the kit, the platforms are smaller than they suppose to be. Right now I'm in the process of building another set to match in scale. (see pic below) As far as the process, I take a project and consider it like a "do it yourself" model kit minus the pieces. It's like taking a model kit you have, open it up and toss out everything that was in it. What's left is what you use....the box. Using a good guide to go by, you draw, cut, and glue your own pieces together. ]{ish
  6. Well actually it did....only once. It transformed from this to that. ]{ish
  7. Thank you all for your compliments! Here are some more pics to show some area of detail that I've put into this project. I'll try to add a few more later tonight. ]{ish

  9. Well here is a pic of my custom SDF-1 Macross DYRL. The whole thing is made mostly out of cardboard with a few exceptions. It has a few pieces of plastic that I added. The most noticable pieces are the arms(purple). Those pieces came from an existing transformer. I had intentionately wanted to make the whole thing out of cardboard but I didn't know how to approach on that area in which to customize it to do what I wanted it to do. So I dug into my scrapbox and found the perfect pieces. There are movable parts hence the purple pieces. I'm able to move and poise the arms where I want them. The other are the main cannons. I can poistion them in "firing mode" or "attack mode" as most would know it as. Also in the pics you will notice how big this thing is. I place my 1/48 valk with pack beside it to show you the comparison. Believe it or not, right now this is about 98% done. I know that it looks done minus the paint but some small detail still needs to be completed. I plan on "hopfully" have it completely done, paint and all by the end of the year. Until then these pics will have to do for now. Enjoy! ]{ish
  10. Well, I guess it will come sooner than I thought. I am about finished with the last detail with the command tower(head). I'll try getting pics up under this or new topic later this week. ]{ish
  11. Yup! I'm back with a new custom. This one is straight from scratch and will be my Holy Grail of custom Macross. Since this nontranformable version is the size that it is, it will be the most detailed version I've ever done on a custom. Now I'm sure that most of you are thinking "how big is it"? Well lets just say that it is bigger than your 1/48 valks(with pack)! ]{ish
  12. If you need more room, I'll be glad to give up my space. Just send some of those collections to me. I'll take good care of them. Hell, I won't even charge storage fee! BTW Your collection is awesome! Sometimes I wish that when I walk in my room, I see this. ]{ish
  13. Well I'm glad to see that someone finally decide to take the initiative to produce a complete transformable DYRL SDF-1. Now I can retire and not have to customize anymore Bandai/Matchbox SDF-1s. I did though enjoyed building them. I'm kinda debating on ordering this version. From what I have seen and read so far, I'm not sure as to wait or go ahead and get one. The arms do look a little fragile. Also it's not as detailed as I wanted it to be. The size could be better to reflect the cost. But that's just my opinion. Teaser announcement I'm building a non-transformable SDF-1 DYRL. It is bigger than your 1/48s. Coming soon to macrossworld.com
  14. If you guys know how to eliminate this post, please do so. Sorry for the mess up. I should have done my homework Kish
  15. Whoa! My bad! Thanks for the info though! Kish
  16. Has anyone here seen the preview to this new upcoming movie "Stealth"? I just saw it for the first time last night. From what I saw, it looks to be really action packed. Not only that but the story, the way I see it, kinda reminds me of Macross Plus in some ways. You got 3 experience pilots, flying at the time, the most advance fighter planes in their arsenal and then have one "prototype" unmanned fighter plane built by a independant government/company?? planning to taking over production with their new toy. Oh, and the umanned plane gets damaged and begin to have a mine of its own and starts its' destruction and mayhem on the planet. Of course you know how the rest of the story goes. Now does this not sound somewhat similar with attributes to Macross Plus or is it just me? Click on the link below and let me know what you think. Kish http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/stealth
  17. Hi! I'm not sure if this is where I need to ask but does anyone have any illustrations of the Armored Gerwalk Valkyrie? I have only one and it only shows the front/side view of it. I need to know what the rear of it looks like. Any information on this is greatly appreciated. Kish
  18. If you were talking about having owned them, you could say I'm the top dog. Not trying to brag or such, but I've owned about a dozen or so. I sorta lost track. They were all loose with a few in complete condition. I really don't keep them long. I either save them for future customs or to sell later on. Now I only own 3 and soon to be 2. I just sold one of my customs to a fellow MW member. And about 3 weeks ago I sold a matchbox version to another member. Below is a few pics of my customs. The small one in the middle of the 3 is a resin kit of the Macross "DYRL". That of course is not a custom. The red one is my version of the SDF-3 from the Sentinels. The green one is my interpretation hybrid of Earth and Zentraedi technology(movie version). And the grey one is my version of the Macross "DYRL", in which is sold. If my information is correct, the owner of that one will be displaying it at this coming MWcon5. That will be my first ever custom showing at the event. I hope to get great feedback. Anyway if you would count those pictured(minus the one sold) the resin in battlemode, and one resin "DYRL" shipmode still unassembled in a box, then I own 4. Kish BTW The pics shown earlier in this tread is of my very first custom "DYRL" Macross.
  19. Since only a few even thought of making a custom Stampeed and some in its' partial production, I decided to add my addition. I've done heard a lot of you fans out there, as well as me, like to see one made up. So I'm going to take that challenge. Even though I haven't done much yet, I will work on this as my star project and hopefully complete it without paint in about 6 weeks give or take. I'm working on the backpack thrusters now. The valk might not be exactly the same as my sources, but will come close to some in likeness. I've done some drafts and mechanic schematics on paper and some parts I'll be making will have to "accommodate" the existing product. I'm not to say how and what I'm using but in due time it will all be revealed. Just wish me good luck and hopefully will have pictures within the duration of this project. Kish
  20. Thanks for all who has given their input. I'll take all into consideration upon next opportunity. Kish
  21. I have a project I'm working on that is not Macross related. Sorry that I have to ask here but maybe someone has an answer. Anyway I got to painting it and had a problem. During my customizing, I used sculpey clay to modify the look. After I sculped and baked the parts, I added it on. But when I got to paint the whole thing, everything was dry except the altered pieces(sculpey). I used an enamel spray paint on this hoping that it would do the trick to where the custom wouldn't get scratched up during transformation. This is going on 3 days now and still not dry. Can someone here give me advice on what I should have done, and or what to do next. Anything would be greatly appreciated. Kish
  22. Yesterday I say a Unicron "Energon"at my local K-Mart and notice right away that this could be an error packaging. I know that there are two versions of this figure out. You have the first one which has the color scheme of his original movie version, then later you have a repaint, purple and black. Each one also has different packaging corresponding to their color scheme. That is where I notice the difference in this one. It has the original Unicron(orange/purple) in a box which has the repaint(purple/black) artwork. I looked closely to see if someone might have tampered with it, bought it, replaced, and then returned it. But the tape and all the interior ties haven't been touched. I'm just wondering if anyone has seen one like this. Have I stumbled on a great find? Kishimoto
  23. I've had these from my younger brothers' old toy collection for years and can't remember what they are. All I can remember is that the pieces pictured below came off from one toy. The "main" piece/body is missing. Can someone here help me out?? Kishimoto
  24. Dude that looks great! I've tried to make one of my own using sculpey and some cardboard but it wasn't turning out like I want it. Since then I stopped messing with it. Hopefully I'll be able to get back on it later on. Anyway yours looks really good! Keep it up! I{ishimoto
