  1. God, even if i get these, where would i put them? i have a whole bookshelf dedicated to macross, and it STILL may not be enough room! i might have tpo put the 1/48s away again!
  2. Im sorry, my poor typing has obviously made what I said unclear. After further playing, i just want to say I love these toys. All my VF-1's are fine. I admit, i had a scare today wioth my 51's leg breaking, but i fixed it, and i think its ok now. and thats after playing for....god when did the black 51 come out? Awhile ago now.... and yeah, a peg in the leg snapped. But I fixed it, and now u would neevr know. ad thats the first break Ive had (Not related to a mishap like a fall) in a Yamato toy ever.
  3. I've jjst been giving this a good read, and i tend to agree with the "Yamato isnt greedy" crowd. i mean ask yourself who is greedier: a company for making a toy that sells for $200 or a fan for buying 4 of them. Then saying they're greedy for making us buy 4 at such a high price. Then making us pay that price again when they make the stripes red instead of black. Those bastards! I work at a company that sels high end speaker and home theatregear, and man u think the toy industry is nuts: I have seen people buy 5.1 surround systems made of speakers that cost $35,000 AUD each! Thats about $24000 and change in USD. Each speaker. For 5 speakers. Then maybe a $14000 AUD sub to go with it. (For those curious, the brand is Meridian, however there are some very pricey ones we do from Kef and Sonance as well. And thats just the speakers; we have $1500 HDMI cables as well...) now we're a distributer so those pries are roughly the red retail ona product, not what we buy or sell for, which I couldnt really say on here. but lets go with an example of rough numbers. Now let me ask u this: If a manufacturer makes a speaker for $50, we buy the a speaker for $100, Sell it for $200 and the retailer sells it at the rec retail of $300 plus his labor thenw ho is the greedy one? Everyone has just doubled the price at each step! And like someone said 2 pages back, 100% markup isnt a huge stretch of the imagination when selling something, so dont think my numbers are wild and out there! Is Yamato greedy? No. Are they making a product we want and are clearly illing to pay through the nose for? yep. So whats greedy about that? We demanded something, they said we'll make it for u, but it costs this much and we said ok! And then bought lots of them! Thats not greed, thats just plain neighbourly!
  4. looks like ill be getting Deunan and briarios in the 1/6 scale from a buddy. Im now umming and ahhing some of these other figures as well, like a Predator, the Nachico she-predator and MAYBE an Alien...
  5. ever, or just soon? Coz i wouldnt say never, but it wont be for a long while.
  6. u know it just occured to me that all of the 1/60's released so far are flown by Hikaru. I mena the 1S is roys, but was also flown by Hikky, the 1A and 1J are his, the 1S hikky and then the 1D! Lotsa planes for one dude!
  7. aftr further playuing, I just wanted to say how much I love these toys, especially my Hikky 1J. That is all.
  8. i havent answered the poll because Im still torn. I THINK Im gonna get an Alto, just to see what I think. but Im bummed it doesnt deem the same sorta scal;e as the Yamatos. On the OTHER hand, its my only shot at a vaguly in scale Messiah for some time to come, so I.....gah i just dont know! oh, and boobs all the way. My wife is a 34E. Just sayin
  9. Thats a really cool repaint of the Zero there dude. If I had a spare Id be tempted to do that....
  10. yeah i think Yamato is still on the right track. Reaction to the DX line seems mixed at best, though the first versions are high sellers as everyone takes a look. the next wave will be the teller. i just hope Yamato does the 0D. Its the one unannounced toy they have the lisence for that we havent seen hide nor hair of!
  11. ....They look so awesome. And u get different crew with the defender! Thats so awesome!
  12. very cool man
  13. Well, I got my Hikky 1J for Christmas today, and she is a beaut! Looks great, very crisp white with a nice red used. The super packs went striaght to my FP less 1S, which has Hikkys name on the cockpit and is now my TV version Hikaru 1S. If anyone would like to trade a Hikaru 1J pilot with a Roy 1S pilot, please drop me a PM, coz thats all I need for perfection! As to my mentioning a Kakizaki 1S; Isnt he flying one when he dies in DYRL? If they made the others, maybe they'll make him too. And on the shoulder thing: I am now 4 for 4 with perfect shoulders. I have transfoermed each many times, have fiddled and posed and played with them all, and not ONE shows signs of cracking or breaking. Not ONE!
  14. Speed racer was a bad film, but was still fun at least. thundercats as CG would have actually been ok. At least they could have kept a lot more of the fantastical elements. Also i LOVED Silverhawks, and would kill to have a new animated series of them.
  15. Maybe it will, but i dunno. Graham - I guess so, but they're interactive like toys, and playable. I think of them as toys anyway. pics: www.dcuniverseclassics.com has some great pics of the line.
  16. Well, here are mine. 01 - NECA - TMNT 02 - HASBRO - Big Millenium Falcon 03 - HASBRO - Jazz (TF Animated) 04 - YAMATO - VF-1S 1/60 scale (Roy Focker type + Stike Packs, Macross DYRL?) 05 - BANDAI - Gundam Exia (1/100 scale, Gundam 00) 06 - BANDAI - Ptolymius (1/400 Scale, Gundam 00) 07 - MATTEL - Green Lantern (DCUC) 08 - MATTEL - Nightwing (DCUC) 09 - HASBRO - Megatron (Leader Class, Transformers Animated) 10 - YAMATO - YF-21 (Macross Plus)
  17. maybe i will get the Hikaru 1S....If they're doing max too, then Kakizaki may follow and Id have a full squad of 1S's....
  18. Hard to say. i was a fan of the series as a kid, like everyone my age i think. I hate heaps of G1 stuff, some great figures in there an a few that even then i knew werent that great. My favourites were Magnus, Hot Rod and Prowl and Grimlock. As a kid i loved the series, and kept them for many years. then GI Joe hit Australia, and most of the other lines i collected faded into the background, including Transformers. I eventually sold them off. Beast Wars was when i came back, with the first series anyway. I liked the figures that became the 'real animals' so Transmetals and Fuzors didnt do much for me. But the articulation on some of those early figures blew me away! Primal and Cheetor are 2 favorites of mine. Then the line went transmetal, my interest waned, and i was out again. Until Armada. Looking back now, Armada isnt all that great as a line. There are some molds in their i really like (I STILL wish a better articulated version of Armada Prime in a leader scale had come out; what an awesome and powerful look!) and i thought the minicon gimmick was great. But there were still some weird choices in there, and though it got me interested, it didnt win me over. Plus Unicron was just awesome! Energon had some great stuff in there, but overall came in slightly under Armada for me. The powerlinx gimmick wasnt as nice, the molds were so-so and the overall story idea was a bit less interesting to me. Still some great ideas, and i loved Omega Supreme (Still do)but overall not the best. Cybertron I LOVED. I loved 90% of the molds, I htought the concept of the settlers on different planets and thus different Primes or leaders was great...I just loved it! To many standouts in the line for me to name, though Prime is STILL on my display shelf after all this time soley because of how awesome he is. But man, Hotshot, First Aid, Clocker, Wheeljack...so many AWESOME AWESOME molds in the line. i regret not being able to display them all, but shelf space is so tough to find, and some of them are pretty big.....Gah, its a shame. Probably my overall favourite Transformers line to date. And now Animated, which is an amazingly fun line with great characters and molds, and such a slick STYLE to the whole thing that I just cant help but love it! Jazz is probably my favourite so far, but its a closer race than some TF series let me tell ya. Then outside themain lines you have the side lines. There was some cool stuff in Universe, Classics is a great fun line and the new Universe classics has some cool stuff in it as well. Alternators was amazing in its prime, though faultered as it went a long which was a shame, especially Since Prime himself came towards the end and is towards the wqeaker side of the series. The movie stuff was big (And I guess still is) and has some neat stuff, but while i got a few none of them stand out as favourites for me. I loved the flick itself, but the toys arent for me. i got a few of the RID series, but while they're ok, they are very fiddly and less fun to play with. Overall I think Transformers is better than ever, with some ideas that appeal to both fans and new fans alike. I know a lot of people sucked in by animated, and brought back to the line by classics. Sure its not eprfect, but no toyline is! Viva la Transformers, I say!
  19. i think he knows, and was just screwing around. trek good. me see trek.
  20. Im not sold on getting the Prowl with armour yet, but Waspionator looks pretty cool. Finally found Sentinal Prime and Swoop over here which is cool. Also grabbed Universe Springer/Ratbat. Usually I avoid decepticons, but animated and now Classics is tempting me...
  21. Best anime series - Gundam 00. Awesdome mechs, great action and an intriguing story set in an awesome universe. Loved it! Best cartoon - Transformers Animated. Wasn't sure on the style till I saw the show itself, and was immediately sold. Plus some genuinely funny moments in there! Best movie - Iron Man. Dark Knight may have been more hardcore, but Iron Man was WAY more fun! Best album - Matchbox 20 - Exile on Mainstream. So glad to have em back! Best videogame - I LOVED Rainbow 6: Vegas 2, but it's hard to get past the awesome of Fallout 3. Best TV - This one is REALLY hard for me, but I'm gonna say True Blood. Sexy and badass at the sametime! Best Toy series - Necas TMNT series was spot on perfect. Honorable mention to DC Universe Classics for style and lineup. Best Japanese toy Series - Bandai's Saint Seiya line. Despite being a bit slow getting stuff out, all the figures this year were great toys. My favorite is a toss up between God Cloth Seiya and Poseidon. Best single toy - Hasbros Big Millenium Falcon. Awesome on just so many levels. It's goign to be hard to top this has the playset to beat for toys now. Best Individual toy
  22. i buy the "Wang is behind it all" theory. Playing both sides sounds right to me.
  23. I know that most of my year at school went and saw this together, but i dont rememebr why. And at one point he was going to be eaten by sharks or soemthing, and one guy yelled "Go the Sharkies!" which is something Aussies yell at football teams (The Sharks being a teamn. For my team, Id yell "Go the Sea Eagles!"). I also have a memory of Billy Zane starting to unmask, then cutting away, then when it came back the black eyemakeup part of the mask had magically disappeared.
  24. The dollar fall is the reason i have decided to pass on Destroids. Id love to have them, but at about $200 aussie, I just can't justify it. As for the new OS; good luck all!
