I dotn care much about the FOLD booster....but the Fast Packs loomks surprisingly cool, and ima sucker for 2 seaster fighters. Maybe ill wait and get this version of the 19.....
-
so graham i suppose u didnt get permission to post pics? have u got a review ready to roll for when u can officially start talking about it?
-
I have mine left over right, but Im not sure if thats correct or not
-
The 1/60 is ok, and its still the only place to get a decent 1D toy. The toys arent quite as cool to me as the 1/48 but they are in scale to everything else Yamato is making these days, so it has its advantages. Again i pray for a shrunk down 1/48 to 1/60size so I can have my valks in scale.

For me its not so much about the price, but how much use i actually have for it. i dont like it as much as FAST packs, thats purely a personal factor. The missles or whatever they are look ok, and since fi9nding out it was a drone plane as well, I have been more interested, bnut Im not convinced yet. Price will be one factor and so will peoples thoughts upon release. We know so little about this piece. Its hard to really make any decisions yet...

is Star trek Popular? Are you serious? Its debateably the most popular science fiction universe in history. There are hundreds of episodes across multiple storylines and timelines. Hell, im not a Trek fan and I still know its a popular series! SHana O'Hara. Pete Mitchell, TOm kazanski. And all just from memory That said i take the point. Callsigns are cool, and i wouldnt have minded seeing them in the show, but they would have been confusing and unnecessary. In Macross i suppose we would have only needed 4: Roy, Hikaru, Max and Hayao. But still...

Well, my 0A has turned out to be a disaster. Getting ready to send the defective parts back to Neova I noticed ANOTHER problem! So on the one unit: -Broken tail spikes -left arm snapped mid bicep -right arm snapped inside shoulder and I wasnt gonna worry about it, but since the plane is so bad anyway; The fuel tnak things at the top that sit on his chest arnt sitting flush to the fighter. I could have fixed that Im sure, but Im not going to bother now. I have never ONCE had a problem with a Valk before the 0's. I fixed the pins on my 0S, so that wasnt a big deal, but clearly my Yamato luck has run out.

looks awesome to me. id like it to be able to look up as well. as long as t can, Im good to go

The more I look, the More i think this may become the crown jewel of my collection...
-
very cool. Whats the arrow pointing out on the leg? Bottom right corner of the second image; one arrow is the speration int he middle of the leg...whats the other pointing up? I like the way the cockpit opens... Head cover romoval is interesting. I neither love it nor hate it. want one NOW! Incidentally; is that ghost booster painted on that 0? Still look kinda plain, but with a bit more detail than the protos showed.

And yet i didnt even understand the sentence about stuff u dont know, let alone the not knowing itself.

u guys are focusing al ot on the exterior, but what got me thinking about it was the interior designs. the vf-1 is so very retro, with slides and levers and small monitors, whereas the 0 has integrated systems and full surround picture view of the area. and like, 40 less controls. i suppose u could argue all those controls were for space and the neuclear engines, but i doubt it... Is there every any lineart explaining what all the stuff ina vf-1 does?
-
hey Dante did u get the tube straightened?
-
dante: heatp some water to boil. Grip the tube in tweezers or something, and dip it in the water for a count of 4 or 5. then bring it back out and straighten it. Holding it straight, place it under rubnning cold water for 5/10 secs. Then check it. if not straight, try again
-
yeah when u do it theres a definite click to show it locked into place. just dont forget to retract it again before u transform it back.
-
Its so depressing reading about all tyhese people enjoying the plane I was really looking forward to it as well. damn it all....
-
my guess is pretty much what graham first said; u must be keeping them somewhere where they are heating up in the direct light. keeping toys ina sunny area is a bad idea anyway, since the plastic will yellow on the white surfaces.
-
yeah all my 1/48 and 1/60 pilots seem to be fine...
-
no, sadly i havent got a digicam. yeah first transform. I pulled the arms out, and swung them around and went to bend the arm at the elbow, and it came off in my hand.
-
Feels the same to me. i too had broken tailpins on mine, so hopefully i can get them swapped over. Also got my first (and only) set of strike FAST packs for my 48 1S which was exciting. But yeah bummed about the tailfins Hope i can get em swapped quickly edity: Ok, this is just stupid. The left arm has shattered below the shoulder and above the elbow, at the swivwel joint. piece a crap....

the Vf-0 mecha is supposed to be the forerunner to the vf-1, though in design and appearance it is much sleeker. Now obviously real world reasoning knows why; the new series was made more than 20 years after the old one, and the astehtics of the designer have changed. But it makes me wonder what the vf-1 would have looked like if it was being designed today. Would it be bigger? sleeker? would we see a control scheem and cockpit that more accurately shows 'future technology'? i mean lets face it, the Zeros interface seems much more intuitive than the ones. Transformation is done through manipulating the throttle instead of seperate control slides/levers. controls screens running the whole uinside of the cockpit, instead of several smaller monitors. helmets with HUDS inbuilt as opposed to just being helmets. and on the outside; the 0 has more detailed heads on its A,d and S types than the vf-1s. the battroids appear to be sleeker than their later counterparts. More smooth edges and less blocky. Does anyone but m wonder what Kowamori would draw for the vf-1 if he designed them today? And would we like them more or less?
-
yeah i have to agree, i thought it was a reflection.

Shinsei Industries and General Galaxy company logos?
Scream Man replied to Axelay's topic in Movies and TV Series
Im pretty sure the shinsei logo is a red upside down pyramid ina white circle. Its on the vack of some of the crew jackets, and u see it around the series as well. of course thats just in my memory, i could be wrong... -
i think the vf-1 should be the only 48 scale fighter. Its the flagship fighter for the line, the most well known. id like a 1/60 scale as well so that it fits in with the bulk of the series fighters, but the vf-1 should be the only 48 scale.
-
i was thinking as a number. is the vf-16 one of the fighters seen in some obscure part of Macross lore?
