Macross Aria - Apollo Squad VF-1S Unassembled Unpainted Yamato Kit
Hikuro replied to Hikuro's topic in The Workshop!
Well how can you tell which ones you need? There are some with lil weird ends on them, and then there are the ones that are completely smooth and even. After I finally found out what my mistake was, I now need to know how the hell to get these pins out? -
I think for the time being, you had to of purchased the Limited Edition box set which gave you a redeemable code that downloads the PS1 game. I did hear that the game was suppose to be out for the JPN PSN market, but there hasn't been anything yet. Look at the Limited Edition threads in the Macross section, or My Boyfriend is a Pilot here in the game section and bone up. Sadly, there's a lot of info to go thru. But from the sounds of it, you wanna play the old DYRL side scroller you're gonna have to spend 150+ to get it. You're almost better off just buying the game and a swap disc if you got an old PS1 like me, loved the game.

Perfect Variable to me is grossly wrong imo, but these are true gems and very expensive to come across. I saw the VF-4G kit on ebay a month ago and if it were just a little cheaper I think I would of bought it and just kept it under lock and key.

Macross Aria - Apollo Squad VF-1S Unassembled Unpainted Yamato Kit

Well I decided it wouldn't be fair to show you guys what was done, so here it is. It's a test fit so nothing holds together. I ended up screwing it up big time for something that to me should of seemed just so straight forward. So lemme give you guys a lil advice. becareful with the hinges, I couldn't figure out which hinge went where cause they're all different shapes and sizes. You might think one second you got the right one, but then you realize it might not of been. These instructions were just a big ass joke and I think Yamato outta go back to the drawing board on that. it's also easy to miss a ton of parts. I was going to trade pilot figures but sadly I lost the main body but got the limbs and arms, I'm so damn embarassed after putting in so much effort into it. I also lost the neck piece to attach the head unit, and I screwed up the left hand by doing it in reverse and didn't even realize it till it was to late. All in all, if I could of assembled it, and made corrections, it would of been a real nice completed kit. -
I emailed Nippon-Yasan about their stuff and hadn't heard back just yet. Looks like Amiami is having a limit amount and that's no beuno for me. I need Roy, Hikaru VF-1S, Kakizaki and Max and preferably a set for a cannon fodder when I get one. Those option parts are practically worthless to me though. I don't need 'em and when I buy the other valks they'll most likely come with them already. But if NY doesn't do preorders, I'll have to buy a max set from Amiami, then another set somewhere else.

Film is being rendered right now for testing, and with any luck I can get it up on youtube. It's set up for youtube only, 29.97fps at 720p 1280/720 resolution.

Ugh, looks like I'll have to hold off on getting the iphone 5 me thinks. I really n eed these super packs. but I have to wait until payday to preorder these.

To me a lot of this stuff is to blame over redistribution of older products in different formats and sometimes at cheaper prices. For example, we see individual DVD release, Part 1-X box sets, Season Box sets and Series box sets. Sometimes even the series box sets end up being much cheaper than the Part1-X boxsets and of course cheaper than the DVD volume. With that people tend to hold off on anime sales all together till a series box set or something very close is available, namely me. But I can also see where Funimation could very easily become a monopoly even though we've got small companies like Mediablasters out there, but they don't bring out popular titles in my opinion. And with Bandai now going to the way side in the states, that means we'll see a lot less popular bandai titles like Gundam or something Bandai owns in the US. I don't recall them ever really being ballsy and allowing other groups to have their work seeing how it could be distributed in house.

Ok I managed to sneak to work for a lil while and use my pc there. I got just Angel's Paint to subtitle and FINALLY fixed the credit roll issue i was having. Damn youtube tutorials some of them are just worthless. I might go back to work tomorrow morning bright and early to finish the subtitles and get this thing pumped out. I wonder if Youtube will lemme put up all 2 hours?

Finally here it is after 3 years of being in production due to issues with voice cast and mixing. http://youtu.be/fKbCgqSs2gw It's certainly not perfect, but it isn't jaring either. I had a numerous amount of issues with the film and the voice cast. Many times did I have to recast certain people cause they would just sit on it. Hell, I did all the extras and even a female voice by doing a pitch correction modulation in the audio to make it passable. This is a one shot deal, I totally don't intend to do another one anytime soon. But I hope this'll keep you guys hungry until the HD DYRL film is complete.

looking forward to good news.

Damn it's about time! That'll help lower the prices from those ebay scalpers. For whatever silly idea I come up with to NOT buy, I'm gonna actually triple that and buy. So let's see what the price is gonna skyrocket too and hopefully buy somewhere between 3-5 units of super packs.

I know right? wouldn't that be so cool? Ugh I'd love to see reissues of the fast packs. I remember 2 years ago I tried to buy some from toysnjoys.com and they told me they were going to be on backorder for 2 month or so from their supplier despite saying they had them in stock. I was royally pissed off and had to fight for a refund from them. It left my Max and Kakizaki sets at the time totally bare. So bare and upset I was, I ended up selling those figures to someone else cause I didn't see a point in not having a completed set. That'd be cool, but so very doubtful seeing how they're just progressing down the franchise line. They seem to be more interested in limited edition and variants than to just reissue old product from 6 years ago.....wait, has it actually been that long since the V2's became available?
-
I think it's from an actual kit from back in the early 90's. Even as a recast it's a great collectors item. I bought one from Valk009 3 years ago, but it alas did not survive the move I made during that time. Not too mention it was my first resin kit and I had no clue what I was doing and screwed most of it up.

I'm in. I'd probably buy 2.

I guess my problem with the MP TC would be the change to a different mold. We've already gotten 2 of Kawamori's rendition of the original MP Seeker, but now suddenly we're given the newer style in crap tampo print that's completely unnecessary.- 16946 replies

Finished my Round2 1/1000 TMP Enterprise. pain in the ass it really was. I think in the future I'm going to stick with the third party decals. When I was building my Sovereign class back in May I had a easier time and had more details and accuracy with Federationmodels decals than I did with AMT's Round 2. I've never had so many wrinkled decals or decals that just didn't fit right than I did with this one. Still, from a distance it looks great. The stand is a joke though. Even with glue I had to tape it up to keep the ball from sliding.
