Something feels off. I just finished the O Raiser and it says each wing takes an LED. So that's two..........the Twin Drives take 1 each....that's 4. The head supposedly lights up........that's 5..........I only got 3 LED's....how the hell? Is this right?!

close but no. I just have such a long commute I always end up with an hour before I gotta actually start so I always bring something I'm working on to pass the time.post office tried to deliver my unicorn kit but of course the usual thing no one home can't drop it off. made arrangements to get it tomorrow after work.

oh you mean like halo nightfall? pfffff. I thought in some commentary tracks ford said he hated blade runner? namely the original cut with having to do those narrative bits he felt were worthless and even bitches during recording he didn't want to do them. or him and Sean young having no chemistry and having to film the worst and most awkward sex scene in cinema?

I just came back from my first Build Group meeting. We call ourselves "The Sleeves" HAH! ............no Zeon kits were present....... Good amount of us I think 6 or 7 showed up at a fabric store where they got a little class room you can use. I was surprised how many were building a Crossbone Moah 0_O or had a box to build one if time allowed. But before I went there I went to a hobby shop near by and they stocked up. I DID come across....*sigh* the actual XM-X1 Kinkedo version (crap.....) and even the HGUC version! What really got me was the fact they had a MG 00 Raiser kit! I have NEVER seen it in person and I had to double check to make sure it had the MG stamp on it after the last time I got fooled....even laughed when it was still cheaper than that stupid ass non grade. So anyways, went to the group and little surprised I'm a bit more adept than them when it comes to building and customizing. It's not a huge margin and I was glad to help give some insight and discuss stuff. Some of them are first timers who just got into Gunpla back when Build Fighters aired last year. Everyone was pretty much working on something either Build Fighters related or 00 related and were of course Gundams. I was the only one who was building something not even Gundam related and a Base Jabber to go with it. I was also the only one who finished his kits. BUT it was a lot of fun and wanna do it again. Now some of them are thinking they wanna do a table top game for it 0_o.

Maybe you can spray the translucent parts, but I'd be worried that'd ruin the effectiveness of the glow. Now to the best of my knowledge Bandai has always had the gates on the parts themselves, never really doing undergating until I think RG's came out and even then most RG's don't have under gating. I know I've encountered it on the SEED kits and on the Zeta Gundam...but when I built the RX-78-2 for certain there was no under gating so when you're building ANY kind of kit, HG, MG, RG, PG, you either gotta be very careful and cut just a millimeter above the gate and clean it with your hobby knife or a sand stick, or just take a chance. If I'm doing a kit I'm planning to show off with the Gunpla builder group I'm apart of I shave the excess gate off carefully with my hobby knife. But if I'm just building it quickly or just gonna have it on display I don't really care all that much. It depends where you do it....I have to do it in the Garage but that's still too cold for me. The can will tell you what is the best temperature for application it should be room temp which is about 70's. Sometimes I'll do the job outside or in the garage and after a minute or two of letting the smell disperse I'll bring it inside. but that means I'm doing it in a specially made box or news paper. That reminds me, change out your area after each gate. I say this because you can't just spray the top side that shows the armor, you want to get under the gate too....if you don't you'll have 2 different colors of plastic and it'll look junkie. So once you do your first level of spray, flip the gate, spray again. Now depending on how much you just sprayed on the top surface you may need to change out your area so then your parts don't stick to the area and cause debry or unwanted smudges or pull something off the gate. Should be fine. What I do is before I even paint is I start snipping off gated parts until there's only 1 left connected to the part. and I remove anything that's going to get in the way of the paint spray. So when I do finish my paint job and I cut the part I only have 1 spot per part to touch up, not 4 or 5. This can lead to uneven paint spots. Now between coats, I'd wait an hour before you apply. But what I do is I spray top surface, leave it alone for an hour, flip it over do the under side, leave it for an hour, flip it back up do top side again at a different angle so it's all applied evenly and should have everything covered. Then flip it downside again after an hour and finish off. Anything still left with original plastic coloring I'll touch up later. I don't wanna over spray, never do more than 2 coats on each side. http://www.amazon.com/Detail-Micro-Brushes-Paint-Applicators/dp/B00578QW70/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1418588457&sr=8-3&keywords=touch+up+fine+brushes+paint I use these little guys when I do small areas of armor or touch ups and details. I wouldn't recommend THIS particular item here listed it's just an example. Hobbytown and model shops carry these in different sizes. The smaller the size the smaller the applicated area. I use these a ton! I ALWAYS buy a couple of packs cause they'll go fast. You can get maybe 20 of these for a few bucks. Just buy 'em online, they're a few bucks but at least you'll have it coming. I'm going to a model shop today for our last Gunpla Builders get-together for the year, I want to buy a new Gray marker cause mines looking a bit warn after nearly a year of constant use.

consistent solid sprays, don't go pew pew pew. But do it like in a row so you spray right to left then right to left right to left right to left, or whatever. I don't think you honestly need a gun : / maybe if you're doing it a lot like every model you buy is a paint job. Don't do it when the weather is cold. like where I'm at right now it's about 30 degrees and that's not optimal to paint in which sucks cause this is w hat the weather is going to be like until April. Even though Kyrlon dries in about 10-15 minutes, do not touch it for at least an hour, and do not start assembling until 24 hours. This gives the paint to settle and bond between coats and finally adhere to the surface. If you're in a tricky spot where it's 1 big molded piece but it has multiple colors which Bandai gives you a sticker for what I do and it's time consuming, get painters tape cover up the area you don't want a certain color and if the tape over laps what you do want colored take your knife and carefully cut the excess amount off. Sometimes I'll take my thumb nail if it's at a panel line and trace it so I see where the panel start and stops then cut right there with knife so it's a nice clear area. That's pretty much what I did for my Mega Grade RX-78-2 to make it look more RG like. OH! Don't use the Gray pen on vents. Use black, it's more accurate and looks less thinned out. I've tried the Gray on vent parts it just isn't the same. Like the faceplate for instant. Use the gray pen and really just saturate it on the lines that curve on both sides of the faceplate going up and done. Then wipe them away and you'll be REALLY surprised on how cool that looks. Then take your black pen and do the two marks on the middle of the faceplate let it rest for just a few seconds so you know it'll stay on then wipe away any excess amount. Finally on the top of the face plate, normally the area that's red on the Gundam? You'll see there are little panel lines I think 4 of them, 2 on each side. Nail those with the Black, wipe away. BAM, you are litterally done with the head. you don't really need to apply anywhere else.

Satin is fine, nothing wrong with that it's just an inbetween of gloss and matte. Flat is also matte, just another term. I have a Gray and a Black pen for panel lining, I use the Gray on white and yellow parts gives it a more natural look. Black I use on Red parts or the face plate's little weird 2 grooves on the front. What I generally do is I just smother the area I want panel lined then I just wipe it off and it usually comes off real clean and easy. Paint markers are a totally different story. They're oil based I think and you gotta get at them really fast if you use them for lining or use some kind of rubbing alcohol I think to get rid of the over flow. If it's just a bit of an overflow I take the sharp end of my blade and just gently scrape away so it's more of an even application.

I had an idea of doing the foil parts as Yellow, like a chrome yellow. That'll really stand out I think. Don't know why I thought of that but for some reason it's stuck on me now!

yeah 65 bucks would be the normal price. I think I have 7 of them and they're virtually filled now. 3 have been Transformers, 2 are Gundam related, 1 is misc and then on top are stacked with every known version of the Enterprise, 1/500 Yamato 2199, spinning TARDIS, Metroplex, Omega Supreme, 1/3000 Macross and Fort Max. I started doing the custom work on my Unicorn edition Nemo and I REALLY like what I did. The only thing stickered on it so far are the front and rear camera lenses and the inner visor sensors. Everything else has been hand painted in yellow, red and dark sea gray. It looks amazing. This is probably my best HG paint job.

Hmmmm, the times I've used the red marker have been iffy. I used the red for the Crossbone and wasn't really to into it...it worked, but on darker platic it doesn't work well. As for Maoh, after stickers it's pretty accurate, I don't recall having to do anything. Now the HGUC Crossbone, it does need paint. Needs gray on the foot and ankle, yellow on the shoulders, white on the anchor's of the cockpit hatch, ugh that's all I can remember right now off the top of my head, it's just those little damn details to me that make you go yay or meh when it's done. Speaking of done... I'm done. No more, can't do another thing on it! I do like how it came out, kind of pops but the full cloth is rather cumbersome to have the arms out and holding the weaponary. I'll figure it out little later when I go to put it on display. This leaves me now with a Nemo and a MKII to build before Unicorn arrives. I need to go buy batteries for that thing I think tomorrow.

There's a pretty big array of colors when you use Krylon, they're cheaper and sometimes better color options if you wanna do something colorful and less militaristic, however finding the right color be it gloss or matte is hard. I typically go matte cause of the nicer finish and no gleam or thickness like the gloss colors have. My HG Hi-Nu custom is entirely matte coating and it came out looking nice and sharp. My friends Miss Sazabi custom was used with gloss colors and I wasn't too thrilled with the result and want to redo hers using Tamiya colors since matte red's are easier to find. Those two for instance were used with Matte colors. As for the Crossbone Maoh, I liked it. it's a lot less problematic than the HGUC Crossbone that's out that'll require a lot of paint applying to get an accurate look. That's my problem with HG's, you gotta paint them or they gotta provide the stickers. The older the kit, the more likely you're going to need to paint it to get an accurate look fro the anime or manga. While RG's need very little to no paint application. Well, except I do see that on the Gundam MK II to make it accurate you DO need to do a little paint. They didn't add red to the vernier thrusters on the back pack and the anime shows their interior nozzles to be red. I've got a HG Unicorn Nemo right now, and I looked it over and saw that while there are stickers, there are a lot of areas where it'll need some paint to look better. If I use stickers which there are a ton of, I'm afraid it could look cheap or uneven. I still run that risk though I guess if I paint cause they're small areas. Finally finished the base of the XM-X1 Skullheart. Some areas I don't like.....and I'm not big on the stickers, I think they take away from the look on this particular unit. Just gotta build the full cloth and I'm pretty much done with it.

close enough, I got tacos tonight. But.......now..........I kinda wanna cry! I DID find the other 2 crossbone units. Kind of surprised they're not more money then what was posted. But it's not "OMIGOD THAT'S TO MUCH!" either. Not like some certain online exclusives I've seen where I scratch my head going "Why would I pay 200 for that?" So I'm just waiting until my new card comes in next week to get them on order.

Ya know, I was just online looking at stuff and came across the price on the VF-4 and nearly had a heart attack. Can't believe I'm sitting on a grand for a toy right now : / who the hell would pay a grand?
-
I went to my work table to exchange the parts.........I mean k'mon! They give you a new head, new skirt and cockpit armor parts but you know what would make it perfect? The freaking vanguard emblem! It's not there : / Nothing in the stickers, nothing in the rub ons, NOTHING. I got a cartoonish set of skulls and realistic looking set of skulls. .........well nuts! I guess I'll have to put the Version ka on wishlist for next time.

yep that's the one, skull heart which they didn't label it that way. it DOES have optional parts to make it the original which I might do instead. personally I think there should be parts to do all variants just like the victory gundam (horrible MG, what were they thinking?!)

Pfff, now it's that waiting time for Unicorn to arrive and I dunno what to ever really expect. I've tried to stay away from spoilers and info as much as possible....only lil glances here and there so I'm not 100% sure what to expect in the end. I've been passing the time b uilding the Crossbone Gundam XM-X1 and as I even read the manga for some insight on detailing I notice...........the Manga version and the model kit version are REALLY different. WTF gives with that? In the manga I"ve read so far, it has the Crossbone Vanguard logo on the center chest piece. But in the model kit that's been replaced with a traditional pirate jolly roger sign. There's also multiple head parts and optional pieces for the skirt armor and torso. I thought maybe it's to give customizers the chance to building the X2 or X3 after some repainting....but that doesn't seem to be the case!

I can, but I didn't want too. The interest rate was pretty high when I use it and had 95% of the card paid off with what I had set aside. If I didn't get cheesed on my paycheck this month I would pretty much shake it off. BUT, I didn't get paid right and they aren't going to fix it until the next check which is close to christmas. : / more worried over gas honestly cause of my commute. But I'm on Vacation again after next week....I'll survive somehow.
