The Megazone 23 Garland By Yamato Thread
Hikuro replied to Renato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
You're right, they shouldn't and I'm very upset with Yamato for not doing anything about this when they could of. I'm very upset that mine broke so easily and now that right arm flops off cause all that's holding it together in Slave mode are the magnets and they just really aren't powerful enough to mess around with.- 1056 replies

Thank you, she's a pro from FUNImation, she's been in Fruits Basket the last I heard....she was also doing some auditions for leading roles that FUNI managed to get the liscenes too but I can't remember the titles....she also does some fandubbing work of her own like scenes from Aquarion and Sailor Moon etc etc...she even did Minmay for a few of my old SDF Macross scenes that never got released online. Also the girl playing Mao is a professional who I think works for Ocean Group. Last role I remember her doing was just some extra work for Inuyasha and was auditioning for a role in Hikaru no Go. Her and I were in an ameature VA Panel at Sakuracon back in 05, dont' know if anyone was there from Macross World though, doubt it. Also since it was just a rough draft, I deleted Scene 6 from Youtube.com I know ppl who read this board will want too watch it to see for themselves, but seeing as it was just a rough, there's no point in having it up when the final is completed. But if you guys wanna see just a cheapo trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dFtcd9vQxk It features the voice of Allison Rose who plays Sara Gnome for othe dub. She did a fantastic job in starting scene as Sara when she tells Shin to leave the island. One of the toughest things about Fandubbing is finding people to do voices, not because fandubs suck, but because alot of people are shy OR one of the dumbest reasons is because it's not Sailormoon, Inuyasha, Dragonball Z or Final Fantasy....or .Hack

The cover came out great....I wish I could show everyone what I've got finished for this, but not just yet...I'm having a few issues with the DVD tests...and I've done like 15 of 'em....some reason it pixelates and then starts to fritz out and stop playing or doing lots of skipping....I think I got some bogus discs or something.

Just to let you know, that's my group, DH for Dark Heroes, and to let ya know, that was just a rough version, I just completed the scene it's a bit different, but much better. I got rid of Aries Puffs and fixed up Roy's stuff a bit. Arie's VA was also doing redoes for it and those were much better. Also changed some of the SFX's and the hollow echo is a bit more improved thanks to Aries' VA. I've nearly completed the entire Episode, I'm really surprised someone found it! Espically a MW member! My goal is to always try and do better then what professional groups could do and I try to get really picky on voices....I've actually gone thru 3 Roy Fokker voices to nail this guy who I think still does a phenomal job. He may not be the Robotech voice, but hell he's better then what ADV's got. I'm currently only waiting on my VA for Mao, and 2 male extras to finish off Yellow One, and Delta three. I also got the first scene up which is just a low quality and needs to be fixed up a bit, but it's still not bad.

It'll be fine as long as your gentle with it....remember, these things are meant to be for collectors, not to actually be played with like normal toys....hence why they tend to be so expensive.- 1056 replies

It's not the bar itself that snaps, it's when it narrows down into a peg shape that sticks into a piece that connects to the shoulder/wheel. If you put jus the slightest amount of force to it it'll snap real easy. So I recommend to be very gentle with that area when transforming it espically into bike mode.- 1056 replies

totally up to you, I think just for collectors it's a must have, but if your just in it for the "cool" factor, nah save it, cause I don't think it was honestly worth the 100 bucks....Yamato while brilliant in the design, really f'ed up the chance for this to be a rather sturdy model.- 1056 replies

Okay I'm in theh club with you on this Alex. I was trying to transform it back into Bike mode and the peg that connects the joint to the swing bar snapped off like it was soft butter. I think a theory behind this is that if your using a Shogo figure to transform it, it wont fit too well into the cockpit....so it's probably best to NOT use the shogo figure at all....it's sort of a waste. But I'm gonna talk to tam to see if there's anything he can do since this is gonna be a MAJOR issue with collectors....but it sucks, 2 hours and it's already broken and I hardly even touched it.- 1056 replies

The Megazone 23 Garland By Yamato Thread

I just got mine in the mail today after I came home from having lunch with my old man and some pals. Yeah the thin arm bars do look fairly frail, but ya know you wont have a problem with it if you read the instructions. I've learned that long long ago when I thought I had broke my Optimus Prime 20th AV and looked seeing I was safe, but had to read the instructions to get him into truck mode. So yeah, I strongly recommend ppl that when you get yours to read the instructions, the arms going to slave mode can be a lil tricky at first glance. Overall I am a bit dissapointed in the lack of detail it has, not much for panel lines and it's like everyone though, shiny plastic. It does have rubber wheels but they're full of friction so they don't roll very well on the ground. Magnets don't seem to be a problem they are hella strong, but the Shogo figure is a bit of a pain to leave seated when your transforming into slave mode, he just can't stick still when your moving the upper body into locking position. If I had to give Yamato a score from 1-10, I'd say 6.5 to 7, it's smaller then I thought, and could of used more detail and maybe a better shogo figure, but the effort that they actually made one since Megazone 23 is becoming a fad again was nice.- 1056 replies

Have You Ever Met A Celebrity Or Famous Person?
Hikuro replied to Phalanx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I met Shatner...........it was just after they finished filming Generations....it was like weird cause I was like one of five or something that actually met him. My star trek club (I was 10 dammit) got me in the room as part of the security so yeah haha ppl having to show their stamps and cards to a 10 year old kid and who ever didn't have one got kicked out or refused entery cause of the room capacity. So yeah I finally got to sit down and listen to him speak thinking "OMG! I met god!" cause back then Shatner was an idol of mine, sucked for me huh? So I raised my hand to ask him a question and he saw me and had me come up stage with him, only one upstage, aske dhim a retarded question which I will never say again and will never repeat even in my death bed. My "crew members" were so pissed off I was "selfish" and wouldn't let them come up with me. And I think about it now, "Dude, I was a child, a little kid, getting pissed off at some child cause he met your god is so stupid" -

Yep, even if VW's car would be used on the side of good, it'd still be used as a war machine, which is a big no no.....I'm sure somewhere out there, some freak is bad mouthing about this movie to the point it makes him feel so stupid. Then he'll go see the movie and go "OMFG! IT WAS THE SUXOR! Don't see this movie! It blew a huge amount of lung butter! Bumblee was haxd!" While another guy is going "WOW! THIS MOVIE WAS THE HOLY GRAIL! IT OWNZDSKI!" you know it WILL happen.

He carried the look of bumblee bee but in the long run was still not bumblee bee. I for one am glad atleast that he's in the movie, it wouldn't be a G1 rendition without the character, even if he's not a bug, it's not a big deal. I think VW is just full of freaks anyways who just wanna promote a peace luvin way and dread even the slightest thought of their vehicles being used in a "War" like senerio....

That would be interesting to see. We just started selling a few weeks ago an alternative guitar controler at FRY's, it looks sort of cheesey with the silver neck. But I like the game, everyday I see people playing it and we use to have it set up that you could see the people playing it on one fourth of the screen, the other fourth of the big screen would show the game, the other half was dedicated to DDR....but we took it away cause in the end it was really just goofy.

In which case Fire Convoy and gang take a look at a location that 60 years ago was part of a sighting of UFO activaty and thought Gigatron might want what ever was in that area if anything still existed. There they meet up with the predacon's and discover a ship under the rubble which belongs to some Seibortronians that vanished 60 years ago. Gigatron steals their stasis pods and turns them into Destron's with military combat vehicle transformations. One of the human characters that appears alot steals one of the trucks that fuels a shuttle and Gigatron uses that truck as the final Destron. The truck suddenly tips over after hitting a crator and the truck itself is full of rocket fuel. Fire Convoy just in time grabs the truck before it falls sideways but Gigatron's Vehicle Scan covers both the truck and Convoy creating an evil looking Convoy henced Nicknamed Black Convoy aka Scourge in the US.

Damn wish I had the series again, dunno WHY I got rid of it, that wasn't very nice of me considering they're expensive. But yeah it does sound like something that's already appeared......and not too mention there was an episode of RID where Black Convoy and his team were gonna blow up one of the dams..........meh.......it just sounded so.........decipticon like.

I managed to take a few pictures, the best I got is what I call the "Generation of Convoy's"
-
Me either that's interesting, wonder what his character is? Could he be one of Spike's friends who might actually be an undercover Sector 7 agent? At first glance I thought "OH NOZ! Megatron is going to steal the energy from the Hoover Dam!"...........yeah right that is more typical R.I.D. style. Oh yeah speaking of R.I.D., I got my Fire Convoy today....I was lucky enough to get off work on time cause the post office was going to close 10 minutes after I got home, so I rushed over there and just got the guy before he closed for the night. Very cool toy, I love it alot, probably right now one of my favorite Convoy's next to 20th AV....and whipes the floor out of Galaxy Convoy for detail and looks. I just need some AAA's to finish him off.

I'm so glad Bandai is still going to do more episodes of Igloo...I really wanna see how this is all going to end for the ship that never existed

Well thank you guys for the heads up on how good (or bad) Fire Convoy is.....I'm really looking forward to geting him, if I got ANY luck at all since I've been having a wave of bad luck this week, I'll see him showing up on my door step when I get home from work around 5 or 6....course I haven't heard if the guy actually shipped it or not, he did say Monday....but I haven't heard anything.

It's not really that difficult if you look around on the internet, ebay, online stores, etc etc....some places still have 'em in stock.
