Right, but as I said, you gotta do smart shopping, espically on the internet. For instance, if I wanted to get a season of Dragonball on DVD, I could go to bestbuy, pay 30 bucks, plus shipping another 10 for shipping, OR I could go to amazon, pay 15 for the DVD, and probably 8 for the shipping and I still saved almost half the cost. There's a little notation on my stuff when I look up accessories on Cars, "THE FOLLOWING IS SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICING BY NISSAN. DEALERS MAY MARK UP ACCORDING TO HOWEVER THEY WISH TO SELL FOR RETAIL." If I got a trailer hitch ball mount, and it's 39 bucks my cost, and 53 for retail, if it doesn't sell very often, I'll sell it for 62 bucks, if it's a HOT item, I'll sell it for 80 cause I know it's something a customer wants. Their choice though if they want it right now, or get it elsewhere. Again, I go to YesAsia for a VF-1A, it's 150+ dollars, I go Overdrive, I pay 80+ for the figure, 40+ on the FAST Packs, then shipping, and waddaya know I probably hit that 150 dollar mark that YesAsia wanted on just the toy. Dealer Markups, they suck I know, but what are ya gonna do? Ya shop elsewhere.

take it to pm or file your dispute. Links got 11 yays and 1 nay, I'm sure he's not trying to rip you off. My question is why would someone pay 300 dollars? I like links work but i would not go over 150 with ship.
-
That's not being "ripped off" it's called dealer markup. Not everyone is going to price their stuff exactly the same, infact, its practically encouraged to sell at their policy. For instance, I go to walmart and buy a transformer for 9.96. Then at target its 9.99, and toysrus is 11.99. Dealers can mark their crap up however they want. if the toy cost them 50 dollars, list was 62, they could sell it 105 and turn almost a 40+ dollar profit. So in essence, if someone paid 100 for something and the buddy paid 150 per the example, th no one got ripped off, just wasnt a smart shopper. hence why I look around for what i want and not go with the most popular choice at times.

I was cruising around trying to find a good place to preorder Hikaru's VF-1A....however alot of places are having the price for it even higher than what was normal for the Roy's VF-1S, WTF? I'm not paying over 180 dollars : / Then i foudn this place called Overdrive inc. They list the 1/60 VF-1A Second Gend (third gen whatever) for 90 dollars, and then FAST Packs for 40....that's a pretty good deal don't you think? However I can't find anything on their preorder policey.

Bandai 1/72 Scale Macross Frontier Plastic Models
Hikuro replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
whatever bandai decides to do with he model I'm cool with. however, toy form is different, I expect alot for 150 dollars of my money. However seeing the affordablility of the model, thats higher on my list then the toy. i can buy 3 of these for the price of 1 1/60 figure. -
I'm voting perfect....the one and only thing that bugs me and not a issue really, is the gunpod not staying put in any forms when connected to the arms. then again, the only ones that hve are the 1/48s. otherwise, this right now is my favorite VF-1 until hikaru's VF1A comes out the end of next month.

Does anyone even care about Max Payne anymore?

Transforming it back to Fighter mode was a bit of a pain, took a bit of fighting but it worked. You really gotta just angle the poo outta the T Bar I guess while pushing down on the fuselage. Still though, I think for being a Generation 3, and not falling apart on me, this is by far my favorite VF-1 figure. Yamato has for the time being, recaptured my heart.
-
Got mine, god it's so freakin sweet. Best thing of all, you practically don't even need the instructions to transform it if you own a 1/48...it's virtually identicle cept for one lil step, closing the panel under the nose cone when you're inserting the swing T Bar....it's a bit tricky so look at the instructions then you'll never forget. I LOVE THE HANDS!

Bandai 1/72 Scale Macross Frontier Plastic Models

God damn, the model kit is looking better then the toy. -
Which anime? I think, since it's based on a DYRL scheme, the packs will match more to a DYRL color scheme versus the dark sea grey finish off the TV color schemes. Then again, doesn't really matter to me as long as the toy doesn't fall apart on me. I got a notice in the mail saying it's arrived, sad thing is though, I'm working 7:30-9PM tomorrow with no lunch break, so I can't pick it up until......uh, ever. So I'm gonna have my folks sign for it.

yeah, with that visor extended just a bit, color plating on it, and the arrow on the sides, it'd be a dead ringer.

Terminator Salvation, colon, Really Long Movie Title
Hikuro replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
In the novels, when Skynet became self aware and started its attack, it also did it's research discovering how pathetic human life can become and how we let ourselves suffer and destroy one and other for our own personal gains. It then decided that humanity was not worth its survival and started launching its nukes around the world. There was a sequence in the book where the final survivors in the bunker where Skynet was built were hiding...and over the PA, Skynet attempted a maniacal laugh to scare the survivors. I believe skynet was more human like then it would ever give itself credit for.... In one of the old comic books, it launched its final nuclear strike against humanity while John Connor and what was left of his resistance group were struggling to get to Skynets rocky mountain bunker to turn it off. As it launched some of the nukes, it actually caused fault lines to crack and lava began to spew and destroy the cities and causing more damage to the earth which was more then Skynet predicted. -
It was...............okay. I think I'll still like Jack more cause he was funny to me....but meh. ledger WAS good.

Exedol and the other advisor class zentradi clones
Hikuro replied to sucker4meltrans's topic in Movies and TV Series
I believe, due to popularity, DYRL is the "cannon" of the franchise. I remember hearing an old story, that Exadore was so impressed with the movie of DYRL (DYRL is a movie based on the events of Space War One, not just a movie to us, but a movie to them) that he is genetically altered to look identicle to the character that represented him in that movie. But if you do look at it, pure bred Zentraedi in Frontier are indeed very DYRL esque in appearance which furthers the reference that DYRL is cannon and that the TV series has just been casted aside. -
1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?

God......2 more days till payday and this sucker will be mine. -
Thanks, yeah I must of gone back a dozen times on the sfx's and music going "poo....why wont this sound right?!" I wanted to add something normal for Ranka's hair but try to keep it as close to the original as possible, but it was just too difficult to nail that and be pleased, same thing with her cell phone too. I was tempted on asking a friend to be cute and squishy sounding, but she wasn't around XD. The VF-171 missile launch...yeah probably one of my favorite moments, it's a frequent missile launch I use in my mecha dubs, you'll tend to hear it often in Macross Zero. MariaVu who plays Ranka was a Voice Actress for Funimation for a few years and has done a number of radio commericals. I use to have a demo reel of some of her stuff, but I don't have it anymore. And Cristina Vee who plays Lynn Minmay for DYRL has been in a number of voice over productions, she was casted as Aika for AIka R-16, and she has been recently casted as Nanoha Takamachi and Louise de la Valliere. She was a special guest i think at Anime Expo this year and was signing autographs...I believe that was her first year of being on the oppisite side of the fan parade. Also, Lila who played Mao Gnome for the first episode of Macross Zero is a voice actress for Ocean Group and has been heard in Inuyasha and I believe Samurai Champloo. Course they've recieved their jobs before they even met me. But obviously they do like working with me cause they do other projects with me and keep in touch often. But yeah, it's alot of fun working with them cause they bring a strong sense of professionalism and ask me alot of questions on their characters so they can portray them better. I always tell them, don't listen to me to much, listen to what the fans like, cause they're your targets, I'll be happy with what you put out cause you're just that damn good. And obviously I do get some good feedback from Macross fans like yourselves.

Terminator Salvation, colon, Really Long Movie Title
Hikuro replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
and everything from a holocaust, wasteland of a war is suppose to be shiney and smell like a new car interior? Cant really see it on my cell, I'll look later. But the 600s were not made to look all cool and uber stealth, they were nitty, gritty archityps of the 101's. Damn wish I could find that old fansite of the 600....or any of the old terminators. i read one of the ollllldddd comics on the finals days of the war, and it was kind of....gross in a sense. -
Very cool, although, I wonder why he looks like he wants to make a left turn
