Awesome 👍. I guess I will try and just glue it, instead of trying to figure out how to disassemble the backpack.
-
Consider yourself lucky. My plastic clamshell cover has that same hole. I'm guessing it's from the fin poking through. And for some snapping off from that pressure shifting around. And by the way all 3 of my boxes(actual shipping box, the brown outer box, and the actual VT box)are free of damages.

@tekering can the booster pack still be put on with the fins fixed outward position? If so, I will probably pin and glue directly into the side edges of the backpack, not the hinge/snapped area.
-
You sure Shawn? I thought mine was like that too (rolled inwards). But upon further inspection, it is at normal level.
-
I have thought about doing that. The fins don't fully fold...true, but they do move ... A little, from angled, to vertical.

Since my Ostrich arrived damaged. I'm in limbo with LP. I had an impulse buy from @frankell05 to cheer me up. LOL I wanted this when it first came out, but missed the pre-order.

The site is still showing available to buy? https://www.shapeways.com/product/DV3KRQCTN/kanzen-henkei-1-60-scale-fighter-variable-hinge?optionId=3675956

I'm sorry to hear you didn't receive your order yet. Hopefully they are doing what you mentioned and inspect them before shipping out. But at the same time, some people want to keep theirs sealed. I was planning to keep mine sealed, but after seeing what's happening, I opened mine, and I am one of those that got screwed. I don't know what's worse, not getting one yet, or getting one that's broken? 😔

I checked mine. It looks intact. But I didn't remove the Valkyrie from the tray. I'm so disappointed and disgusted with this purchase. It has been a while since I bought such an expensive item, and to have it broken right out of the box. So I made a impromptu decision and bought another DX (not another Ostrich). Hopefully this one will arrive, and arrive safely.

I wanted to keep mine sealed too. Maybe I should have, but would have never known it was broken.
-
I just emailed them with a picture of the damage. We shall see what happens.

Add one more. I'm so disappointed in Bandai. FML. Can we start claims with the companies we bought them from? And my boxes are perfect no damages. Update: I checked again to make sure the head was ok. Looks intact. Still disgusted this whole ordeal. For such an expensive item, you would think these wouldn't be an issue. But at the same time, they are not meant for us to have outside of Japan.

I can't wait for your review.

Thank you for the clarification. Shows how much I know. I actually didn't even take my Yamato one out of the box. Once I bought it. Opened the flap, then put it away.
-
Damn that sucks. I thought the fins were like the Yamato/Arcadia ones, which were smaller than the regular valks, but could still fold
-
I guess the tailfins are not swappable like the angelbird next to it?
-
-
Oh man. Sorry to hear about the tailfin. Now I'm worried about mine. But I don't want to cut the tape on the box.

I'm glad I was able to get this. I was late to the pre order and took a chance with Luna Park. My second DX Valkyrie (first one was Roy's S through HLJ).
