Black panel lining makes it look cartoony IMHO. A lot of members here definitely do better lining work.

Minor minor nitpick: this is the only place where I've read Mirage referred to only by her 2nd name Farina.

The VF-1's are fiddly and not perfect transformation (parts-swapping required). Aftermarket prices for certain models (Hikaru 1S, Armored 1J) are rivaling 1/60 scale prices already. The non-VF mecha (Glaug/Regult/Monster/Spartan/Defender) are solid toys. Decent to great articulation and really fun to pose. Compatibility with Stage Act 5 stands and Tamashii accessories (explosions/craters/lightning/wave effects) means you can build some cool dynamic scenes with these toys.

Thanks @Lolicon, I got one! I can let my HLJ order go, if anybody's interested they can PM me. No guarantees they'll reopen POs though. LOL figinstock notified me after I finished my amiami order.

Prices on the 2015 releases are insane now. JPY20k for an armored 1J, JPY18k for Hikaru 1S. Good thing I PO'd my 1J and found a cheap Hikaru 1S from a local collector.

Tip of the day: a little blu-tack keeps the tiny regult guns from falling out when they take a spill. also good for securing loose backpack flaps on VF-1's

IIRC Arcadia web-exclusives like the premium finish valkyries were offered by HLJ, and N-Y. Maybe Anime-Export also. Check their respective threads to be sure.

All the decals are pre-applied tampo on premium finish valkyries. But they're not topcoated afterwards so bumps/rubs/scrapes can remove them if you're not careful. -

I'd get these instead of the regular ones. Have to ask N-Y nicely though, but I have a good purchase record with them. JPY23544 less 8% is JPY21800, not as bad as the difference between regular Hikaru/Roy 1S and premium finish versions.
