I wonder if G-man has been given a list of dates for when he is allowing to 'leak' certain bits of info throughout the year... like keeping us all on a morphine drip.... *november - YF-21 pics..drip.... january - VF11 1/60..drip..... march - reactive armour..drip etc* But seriously all new toys aside, we NEED to have our quality isseues addressed first.

Actually, of all the things asked for and discussed, i am more keen to know about the QC issues on the current line of products... even more than hearing about new stuff. I think it best to "fix" what we have before we get something new with the same poor QC issues. Graham, is there any chance of bringing that up first? Just to put a lot of minds at rest before we all start dooling over something new. I really want to hear about the new items on the horizon, but i want to know that they will be solid and free of bugs. anyone with me?

Heheh, you guys watch too much "heroes" or just too much TV...

I'm with ya Dobber! I noticed the music straight away. I reaaaaaaaaaally want to see a miniseries on the original cylon war. Make it almost like a scifi WWII flat-top drama (reminscent of wing commander - but waaaaaaaaaaaay better - yes i know wing commander sucked but the style was ok) edit - and yes, the screams were quite chilling. -
We knew all this was going to be was eyecandy first, plot and story second.. with Bay at the helm, we knew it was going to be big and dumb, so it delivered on those expectations. Dont get me wrong, I didnt think it was 'great' by any stretch of the imagination but i appreciate that it accomplishes what it set out to do reasonably well. Like i said before, it Transformers, its a big silly action movie about giant robots that has been adapted from a kids toy line. lets not judge it as if it was going for oscars. No argument meant Ahab... juist thought you were a tad harsh.

I think its important to remember that we all watched transformers when we were kids... KIDS. Transformers is a kids movie. You are an adult. of course its easy to find gripes with a movie that trashed a show that you loved, but if they made the movie in the style of the 80's show with no changes, the only people that would have really rated it would be the old school adult fans. Its a kids movie about big robots that change into cars and jets etc. so as a kids movie its fantastic. get off the high horse and review it in the context of its target audience. The same thing happened to Star Wars -a bunch of adults went hoping to see what they loved as kids, but the movie wasnt really made for them, it was made for a new generation of fans....todays kids. It really p1$$es me off when people slam a movie beacuse they are not reading it in the proper context of its target audience. its a big dumb action movie, nothing more. it was never meant to be more than that!

so are they worth getting? I'm not actually keen on them myself, but more as an investment syle purchase. I have no idea of their "collectable" worth so i've never bothered to look twice until now. I have checked to make sure that they are not copies but original HG products too. -

are these dolls rare? They pop up on ebay.co.uk quite often for next to nothing. there are 3 on right now. I see from the price sticker on Lisa thats $85 !!!! they go for £5 - £10 when i see them. Just a heads up if anyone wants them. in fact someone let me know if they are considered rare.. i might pick them up! (rough exchange rate - £1 = $2) -

pink with yellow polka dots...LOL.. a Mr Blobby (if you're not from the UK, you wont understand) VF-4. Now thats sick. *runs off to throw up at the mere thought* Personally guys, i dont think there should be any debate over colours of valks that exist in the Macross universe as we know most are mass produced and used in a variety of roles that we never actually see. Its silly to argue back and forth over an issue that has no answer, so there is no right or wrong! If you want a black VF-4, you have one. Isnt it better to use ones imagination and we can all say that its ok, because there is no official reference to it doesnt mean it cant exist. (look at the F-117 nighthawk... 20 years ago it "never existed" but it did!) If a tree falls in the woods and nobody is around...etc etc.

I cant wait for those new Patlabor revys... i've been holding off on buying the others because of too many valks syndrome - PPMTCSG (damn you Yamato), but i'll have snap those puppies up as soon as they become available. The Helldiver looks amazing, and as for a deluxe movie version unit1.... bring it... i will buy it!
-
You wont regret it... they are serious mech crime/thriller movies. P2 has some startling similarities to the movie "the seige" starring Denzel Washiington, Bruce Willis and Annette Benning (but P2 came first and is much, much better - i was fortunate enough to be at the world premier too!!!!).
-
The floppy pieces of poo that Banpresto try to pass off as valkyries. They are by far the worst i've seen. Even Toynami has one up on them!
-
DUDE! you havent watched Patlabor!??! check it out after you're done with macross... its really good. Just stay away from the 3rd movie as its totally off on a tangent and sux. movies 1&2 rock, the TV show is also really good.
-
That is one the nicest macross pics i've seen... the lighting from the fold boosters just sets it off. better call the waaaabulance....
-
Sqidd.... i hate you. Nah just kidding, that looks amazing! I always look forward to your "strike a pose" posts
-
I'm with you and Dr Hingten on that Dobber.... its what got me into loving aircraft.. saw one when i was 5 or 6, and it was like" i waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant one" beutiful aircraft. - back on topic... would someone ( an owner of one or two?) maybe like to do an update post with a list of tried and tested fixes for the SV-51? This would help others (like myself) to not have to trawl through over 100 pages of posts. Maybe a pinned topic on fixes is in order? then we can maybe finally close this puppy down.

New Rules & Regulations Feedback Thread

Its a shame that things have come to this stage and this had to be done. I think the Mods of MW do a fantastic job (nice script on the rules Mods) and for the most part, everyone on here is / seems to be pretty decent. It saddens me that MW has had to take measures to protect itself in this way. -
Battlestar Galactica Discussion

Try doing a search for "galactica - second coming". This was a project by Richard Hatch to get a continuation of the original Battlestar Galactica series with some new tweaks. Hatch's idea was to tell the 'what happened next' while forgetting the awfull galactica 1980 fiasco. There was a pilot trailer made for this but i dont think it has ever beenn released online. as it happens, Glen A Larson and hatch both pitched the idea to studio execs just before Ron Moore, and it was a close run thing for a while but we all know the end of this story now... I would love to see the concept trailer for "second coming" because it apparently had some wicked evolution viper designs and some pretty cool cgi too. If anyone knows where to see this... post a link!
