Okay, it's been a while but I've finally taken new pictures of my custom. Hey Shawn, here's more pictures for the customs section.

Wow! It's been a while and I am in the process of getting my digital camera fixed but here are some Battroid pictures of my Angelbird for those interested.

Here's one item that Rosario L had in the works. I REALLY wanted some of these but to my knowledge he never made them available to the masses. Where are you Rosario, I still want some of these!!!

Do you guys remember VF1-X.com? I was inspired by the 1/55 custom Angelbird created by Jung that was featured there. Here's a picture of it.

At this time I have 12 stripped 1/55 valkyries waiting to be customized. I do have one incomplete 1/55 Angelbird valkyrie that I'll probably sell on eBay. I'm a little short on space and with 12 other valkyries waiting in the wings, I need the space. As for a whole squadron, it's definitely a possibility. There's been such an Angelbird drought in the Macross community that I'm not above overcompensating with 5 of them. To answer your question myk, I'm not really into the 1/48. They're bigger with more bells and whistles but they're just not as fun for me as the 1/55. I really miss the days before all of the Yamato's and Bandai reissues came out. There was so much creativity here. Hopefully, customs will once again become the driving force it once was. I really looked forward to seeing when some of the original customizers like Jung, KidKorrupt, RTH and Rosario debuted their 1/55's. It was like Pimp my Ride Macross style. Viva la 1/55!!!

I don't have any additional pictures yet. If at all possible, I'll add a Battroid picture by Monday.

I've been away for a while but this is one of the projects I've recently finished. I'm going to be taking some digital pictures this week and I plan on adding this to the custom 1/55th gallery.

After the feet were corrected, my friend decided that he liked the hood idea from Windcharger (Overdrive). He then cut the piece connecting the hood to the crotch and drilled a small hole. He then put a counter-sink into the piece still connected to the hood so that the screw sits flush inside the plastic. Here's a close up of the modified area. -

Next he carved some slots into this piece so that it can snap back into place. This allows it to be moved to the side while in bot mode. -

I was really unhappy with the Gobot looking head on Alternator Lambor (Sideswipe) so I decided to make a new one. If there's enough interest I'd consider recasting. Also, a friend of mine decided that he needed to fix Sideswipe's feet. He removed the pin that I've pointed out below. -

Hey all, I've been away for a while but in my absence I've been working on a few things that I'd like to share with you. This of course isn't a finished project but it's not far from it. BEHOLD SIDESWIPE!!! -
This is the LED VF-1A that I want. I found this picture in the completed items section on eBay and have wanted one ever since.

First, the Genuine Bandai 1/55's are no longer being made. If you want an almost genuine 1/55 currently in production, it would be the Happwell version below. Unfortunately, I don't know where you can get one. The local Walmart used to carry Happywell products but never the 1/55 valkyries. As for the others, it would seem that only the $5 carded bootlegs and the seemingly better quality LED light versions are currently being made.

Hey Solscud007, is the LED bootleg that you have a white or red one? I've been wanting one of the red versions for a while now but I'm unable to find them in Chinatown, SF or at the local flea markets. Where'd you get yours? Could you get more? Valkfan

" now i have to go look at the stupid toy again?!?! All joon's or just the patriot? mine has blue inner and red outer... is that how it should be?" 339173[/snapback] All Joon's that I've ever touched originally had the tailwings placed in backwards and this is the reason that the tailwings stay loose when snapped into place in fighter mode. You'll notice that the tail wings have a flat side and a rounded side. The rounded side should always be placed as the inner wing. Kidkorrupt's old website has an illustration of the correct wing position here. Just click on "customization tips" on the left hand side and then "JOONS 1/55 BOOTLEG MODIFICATION ( BY ROSARIO LOVE )" Valkfan
