MSW's accurate description of what the substance is somehow sounds far more perverted than my jokingly perverted description. I find this ironic.

Blaine23 = totally hot for nekkid hot asskicking totally evil one night stand girl. Seriously. They need to quit with the Euro-trash and Arab villains. Bring on a mastermind with a great caboose. Sure, it isn't very realistic... but at this point - what on the show really is? Even better idea. Make it Kim Bauer. And dress her in leather. Please.

Well... sometimes toys get a little lonely and bored when sitting around toy shelves. Sometimes they're 4 feet away from the Barbie aisle and they can look... but they're still miles apart - seperated by packaging. What would you do? They got the time, it's not like they can go out and get a Skipper doll to relieve tension... it's only natural to find a little residue. Just hook 'em up with a paper towel or something and try not to embarrass them about it.

I would test a regular old CD or CD-ROM to make sure that it's not a physical malfunction (ie - the drive broken, unpowered, or unrecognized by the PC). I've never met a DVD drive that didn't also read CDs. If you can see the CD, then your drive and the computer are fine. That opens the question of what software were you using to watch DVDs in the past? If you turn off AutoRun, then the program that plays the movie, grabs screenshots, etc - won't automatically come on. I would follow Mike's suggestion and take a look at whatever software you were using to play movie DVDs. It might be that whatever software came with the computer expired, etc. Or it might be that you need to start that program manually, since you turned off AutoRun. If you need to get a DVD movie playing software - PowerDVD is an excellent DVD movie player for PC, as is WinDVD and several others. Good luck, MSW.

Loaded with weapons or not, a big rig just seems too big, too slow to accelerate, to difficult to brake, to likely to jackknife and tip when turning at high speeds, and too unable to get under certain overpasses to be an effective crime fighter. Unless it's Optimus. Well... yeah. But the helicopter merged with the truck.... that has to count for something... Well, not really. I grew up in the good ol' days of the 70's when big rigs were used for far more practical purposes, such as racing beer from Texas to Atlanta with help from the mighty Burt Reynolds. Or it was just a pleasant way to spend time with your monkey, like BJ and the Bear.

A Trio of Hero's set to join the cast of X3.

I never said card throwing could actually kill somebody... But it could break the skin and leave a nasty welt. -

I honestly don't have much faith at all in the X-Men franchise without Singer, but I'm curious to see what they do with it. And I've never been a Gambit fan, either. I live a few hours from Nawlins and Gambit's dialect is about as overdone as one can get. He didn't show up in the comics until I was through collecting X-Men anyway. However, apparently some people can use cards as weapons fairly well. Magician/actor Ricky Jay (card dealer in HBO's Deadwood) used to hold the Guinness World Record for being able to throw a card 190 feet at 90 miles per hour. That's kinda scary. He also could throw a card into a Watermelon from 10 paces. Ricky Jay on Wikipedia He wrote a whole book called "Cards As Weapons". This site shows the basics - Scans from Cards As Weapons It seems like the kind of thing I might get around to trying to learn if I were incarcerated and had nothing but time and cards. I'd learn that and the harmonica, too. -
I take it you didn't like The Highwayman. Dude... the Highwayman! Actually that show was kinda the proof that any sort of big-rig themed entertainment was dead as disco. It's a bit like putting the mirror under someone's nose after they collapse to see if they're still breathing. Or nudging a dead guy you found in the desert with your boot. The IMDB says - "A government agent in a supertruck named "Stealth" that is loaded with ultra-high-tech weapons and a helicopter travels the highways, fighting evil." Now if that doesn't sound like something I would have enjoyed in grade school, nothing really does. Yet, it sucked. It even sucked then, which is sad because I was willing to forgive just about anything at that age. What really elevated it to a level beyond just "lame" to "teh suck" was the inexplicable casting of Jocko as the sidekick. The guy's only claim to fame was appearing in very annoying Energizer battery commercials and shouting "OY!". I really think NBC kinda thought, "well... we made Mr. T a star... we can do anything!"

It wasn't his evil twin. In a rare example of the show making some kind of sense, thematically, Garthe (yes, with an an extra "E" for "EEEE-vil!") Knight was the actual son of the head of the Knight Corporation. When Michael died, he had extensive plastic surgery to "change his identity." Well, it turns out that the good folks at Knight Industries made Michael look just like Mr. Knight's wayward, unrepetantly evil, soulpatch-having son. Then Garthe shows up and he's all like, "WTF? Dad, you were really messed up! I think I'll make an evil 18 wheeler and destroy some shizznit." Thus Michael and KITT have to take him down and forever finally banish big rigs to the land of "not really that cool" after they'd enjoyed a long period of bizarre popularity due to the antics of Smokey, the Bandit, BJ, and the Bear since the '70s. And it let us see the true awesome power of Hasslehoff's dual role acting abilities. I still kinda feel bad for Garthe. I'd hate it if my parents disowned me and reconfigured some weenie stranger to have my face and then drive a magic car around and save local circuses and whatnot. Not to mention... look at that player! Now that is cool and sophisticated.

Thank you for this. I'm laughing so hard I can't breathe right.

Well, this is only my opinion, since the only MAJOR difference between all of the 1/48's is paint and head design - it's really up to what you like. But if I could only keep one of mine - it'd be the VF-1S with the Super/Strike Armor kit. You could totally do that for $200, if you shop smart, shop S-Mart.

My bad. Don't post for a few months and you forget how, apparently.

It's not like every moron's cousin on Earth doesn't have another 5000 torrent sites out there with the exact same crap. The funniest thing is... I never d/l movies. I hate watching pixellated, crappy sounding versions of multimillion dollar features. I'll stick to near-perfect audio CD rips, programs, TV shows that my TiVo for some reason missed, and tons and tons of pR0n. The MPAA don't got no beef with me... it's just every other copyright holder, really.

Great moments in anime....done in MS Paint

Great thread. golly, this even lured me back into posting... of course, I suck - but isn't that the point? It's similar to that FLCL pic, but mine's young Basara and his mountain. -
Come on... as much I love White Drewby, he can't photoshop that well. Damn it, I did it.

As soon as I'm through laughing about the idea of coming to an anime fan board and asking for dating advice, I'll try to give you an answer... But for right now... I simply can't catch my breath... laughing too hard... -
Heh, perhaps Lucas will treat us to some Wookie rap Graham We should be so damn lucky, Graham. Holla!

I have to admit I like Macross 7 quite a bit. Mainly I like the fact that it presented Macross in a very artistic manner. As annoying and uncommunicative as Basara can be, his vision and strength to believe in what he does is inspiring. I like the fact that they did away with the traditional space opera plot in order to try new things. Some of these things worked (theme), some of them didn't (protodevlin character designs) for me. Like everyone else who watches the first few episodes I was off-balance and getting pretty sick of the repetitive music. As the show progressed I became more connected to the show and found that the music was getting better and more varied as the show progressed. The plotlines became more focused and the characterization grew as a result. I found that instead of hating Sound Force and wishing they showed more traditional military mecha combat, I was instead waiting for Basara to show up. Ultimately when I think of Macross 7 I think of Basara singing at a mountain and the image makes me smile. In my opinion, it's probably the most powerful artistic theme I've seen in anime. It isn't for everyone, but if you can get past the preconception of what every Macross show should be... then you might find yourself genuinely appreciating the show for what it is.

It's Aisha Tyler and she was on Talk Soup, Friends, and she's currently on CSI... she's a busy gal. Her character is pretty unlikeable on 24, though... which is a first. She's usually hot and funny. I watched all 4 hours last night (thankyou DVR!)... I totally agree on the unnecessary Driscoll's daughter crap. You'd think a woman in charge of counter-terrorism would have enough sense to hire a private caregiver or something. Either way, it stinks of stupid future plot line. I do like the focus being on back on Jack. This season seems to be one of the better planned of the 3 so far. Instead of having such giant twists, they need to focus more on building tension each episode. I'm actually one of the few people who really enjoy Chloe. It's probably the most realistic character on the show. She's annoying, pushy, whiny... who doesn't have someone like that in their office? I'm looking forward to seeing how evil the evil Turkish family is. There's something really wrong about that mom, she creeps me out big time.

I love Highlander... but I'm totally confused by this topic. You guys keep mentioning sequels and TV and some guy named Duncan... in my world that doesn't exist. On planet Blaine there was only one Highlander movie and it was rented about 8 million times on VHS when I was 13. It had a kickass soundtrack by Queen that I had on a BASF cheapass quality dubbed tape from my best friend's album version. And I distinctly remember beating the hell out of that same friend with a stick while both of screamed "Princes of the Universe". But I sure don't recall that they ever made those godawful, pieces of poo sequels and televsion programs. And it's really much, much better this way. (See... folks... denial can be a good thing.) And just for the record - "It's better to burn out than to fade away... my my, hey hey" - Neil Young, Hey Hey, My My and then, "I got something to say: It's better to burn out than to fade away" - Def Leppard, Pyromania When I was a kid I liked to think that the Kurgan was all about the Def Leppard. These days I prefer to think of him as having spent some time in Canada in the 60's with the mighty Neil Young. Good review, A7

I'm really looking forward to it. As much as I liked Michelle, Tony... and really, really lusted at Lil' Kim (when she wasn't looking like Ann Jillian's hotter clone)... I think the show got a bit bloated. I didn't worry that they'd kill off any of the regulars, so it's more fun when it's Jack vs. the Universe. Honestly, the only person I miss is Nina. They should've built an entire season around her.

Eh, my fiance and I made a rule. I have my own space for my collection of toys, and all DVDs (anime or otherwise) are kept in our TV Room. It works pretty good for me, because limiting the amount of space I use keeps me from letting any collection get out of control. I love my anime & popculture crap as much or more than your average geek - but keeping such things in one area and letting the rest of the house look like a grownup's is a good thing.

Thanks for the daily reminder of why I should be glad I could care less about professional sports.

My poo has officially started a JSA boycott. Sorry. Scopedog looks great... I'll be getting one when it's domestic.

I wasn't aware of the that. Yay for Gaiman! Damn skippy. The Tony Twist ruling is a bit sad for free-speech, but McFarlane deserves to be slapped around for the B.S. he's tried to pull with Gaiman. Hopefully all of this will boil down to someone re-releasing the incredible Alan Moore and Neil Gaiman runs of Miracleman which have been kept in Todd's vault for the last 15 years or so. BWA! Sure, he may be free... but there's simply got to be some kind of price on that doofus' head by now, BSU. If not, I'll pitch in a few extra bucks.
