We're talking about valkyries again, right? H That's pretty funny there, Hurin. Back on topic, anyone know if all of the Max 1Js have that white clip for the backpack? Mine does. And I'd throw in my 2 cents about women... but this is Macrossworld, not Loveline. You guys are blabbing more about women than women blab about men on Oprah. Next thing you know you'll be book clubbing and listening to Dr. Phil.

Another theory here... Maybe he intends to "murder" each valk differently and leave their "bodies" all over his town with messages like Sloth, Greed, Lust, etc... I've heard he has tons of notebooks filled to the tip of each page with tiny, tiny writing.
-
Perhaps he intends to buy 1 Millia VF-1J cast it as Snow White and use the 7 Maxes as Happy, Grumpy, Sneezy, etc... in some bizarre Macross/Disney diorama?

ADV press-release about EVA Platinum-edition (r1)
Blaine23 replied to treatment's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Good lord... well, since I've already purchased the R1 discs, I'll have less qualms than usual about picking it up once it's been ripped to a good bootleg release. -
There's not really alot of logic there, Drewby... you kinda come off like a dad - "You'll have nothing and like it, Spaulding!" If the avatar settings were 10x10 pixels one could say the exact same thing. Hey, if you can't make an av out of this, then you don't need it... now pick a block shape and be happy with it! AgentONE simply pointed out that there is a lot of wasted space in the area to the left of the posting field and we could use that space for bigger avs - without allowing anymore bandwidth. I don't see where any negative aspects are in that scenario, other than personal tastes (ie - it's bigger than 64x64... my eyes! the horror!)...

Bunnies! Loving Cats! It's an abomination!

TiVo (or in my case, Time Warner's DVR) is the bestest most awesome thing ever. I never watch commercials, I almost never miss a show, and I can pause it whenever the hell I want. It's so worth it... I pay $5 bucks a month and I can record about 30 hours of television - including being able to watch one show while I record another one. Or watch a recorded show while I record two different shows at the same time. Badass. But my predictions were totally correct on Kim - I swore there would at least be a partial relief from the godawful Ann Jillian hair. And an outfit that was less "Working Girl Barbie"... My only complaint is that she didn't have to infiltrate a local Hooters instead of the library... now that would have shot the ratings up about 5 full points.

I've never liked the paint scheme - I agree with Max, it's more than a bit fruity. But I do respect the hell out of the customizers who can actually make one.

Hey, I tried, I really tried... and I don't know if it was the crap animation, the way they reused footage at least a dozen times, the little fuzzy whatthehell that hung out on that dude's shoulder, or the faggy red valqueery with it's sound pods, and harry potter at the controls....oh and the music that sucked. Something about it just turned me off........ Well then you've seen it, MM... so I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to folks that saw this brief flash of SK's humor, poking fun at what would be an outdated design, in M7 - as a reason to not watch M7. EDIT in - imode, there's really nothing to defend. The paint jobs on the VF-1's are actually supposed to be funny.
-
Agreed... of all the reasons to hate M7 (and trust me, there are many valid reasons - all of which AgentONE will be happy to tell you) - this one is probably the least. I do think it's funny hearing people who've never seen an anime talk about how much they hate it, though. Informed opinions are so rare. Don't hate the valkyrie, hate the game!

My, that is gay.

Memphis, TN N 35° 9' 29" W -89° 59' 0" Now we can all find me or Elvis' gnarly old bones. -
Hey guys... let's be fair, here. Don't VF-1's deserve to dress up and feel pretty if they want to? For those of you who haven't seen M7, there's a pretty good reason those VF-1's are duded up like RuPaul... you do have to remember that by the time of M7, the VF-1 is completely outdated and out of service, only used at carnivals, airshows, and such. IIRC, Millia's VF-1 was in much better condition.

Opinion: best starfighter designs ever
Blaine23 replied to renegadeleader1's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
This thread looked really cool when I read the first page... now I'm scared of being jacked up in a "geekdown"... Ignore any you don't consider to be appropriate for this thread, I'm just putting down spaceships I like, you nerdy bastards. X-Wing Tie-Interceptor A-Wing Space Above and Beyond (whatever the good guys flew) Buck Rogers' pimp ride (but never, ever that godawful Hawk thing) Slave 1 Spike's in Cowboy Bebop And this one isn't in any way space worthy, but since 90% of our discussion involves Lucas' empire - I lurve the Speederbike. Absolutely the coolest thing in RotJ. Except for that whole "Luke and Dad kill that mean old man" part. -
Hee! I'd never seen the Man-Faye dancing before. Here I was trying to be original as well as evil. Mil-tron rules.

Same here.... Maybe I've just played Manhunt too many times... but having him standing there and staring at me is all f---ed up. He does do a nice moonwalk, however. -
It would appear that Minmay doesn't really need to worry about lack of guarding. Yet another great one, Anasazi.

What's wrong with my Yamato, Bandai, etc.
Blaine23 replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Looking at the list, I'd say Yamato wins that dubious horse race, hands down. I'd forgotten how buggy Yamato could be - I've been on a pretty nice streak of "no problem" valks (knock on wood - thunk!). Thanks for posting the list, Kev. It might be a bit scary to some, but it's worth it to remember and raise awareness about Yamato's sometimes problematic QC. -
No doubt... each time I hear about this stuff, I go running over to look at mine and make sure, once again, that I don't see any problems. Oh well... mine still looks fine.

In anticipation of KILL BILL Volume 1 & 2.

My GF loved it... She said it was one of the best movies she has seen in a year... She hates violent movies too. She discribes KB as a "feel good" movie. Weird, but same here. As I mentioned earlier, my GF bought the DVD (which is pretty rare for her) then bought the tickets to KB2 and we watched KB1 again, then left for the theater for part 2. My impression? Again, I've been impressed with QT all along, but once I saw these movies back to back, I'm even more into it. I can see why some people either don't like or are critical, but I was totally sold on both movies throughout. As for the B&W bits... I had no idea originally that it was done for censorship purposes. With Quentin's visual style, I found the switch to B&W to be a pretty cool visual effect, just like the change into that 70's HK style lens during the Pai Mei flashback. It looked and felt like every movie I watched on Saturday Kung Fu theater and it works for the movie to me. Personally, now I'm even more stoked to see the full DVD set when it arrives. My GF says it's now her two favorite movies, but then again she still loves musicals and Cary Grant films. Very weird. -
How many of you own the Takara 20th MP Prime?
Blaine23 replied to SupremeKaioshin's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Got mine right after Christmas. Love it. It's my favorite non-Macross toy in years. I thought about picking up the Hasbro one, but after looking at it, there's no real reason to unless you want backup or you're a completist. -
Hee... from his page - I like that a geek can work his body issues into his "continuity"... "It was those damn changes in the laws made me overweight! Not hours of inactivity broken up by donuts and pizza!" The sad thing is... if he'd spent half the time it took to make his costume on a simple diet and exercise plan...

Don't let Sebastian fool you. He is not really a low grade manager. He's actually like one of those James Bond villians who desires to rule the world, complete with a huge secret base on a deserted tropical island. Graham Damn! Graham! You were suposed to keep the secret! Now everybody will know my plans of ruling the earth with the Patlabors you sold me! Ack! At least my base is still secretly located. That is something. Maybe you need to save your money to buy a new fluffy white cat to stroke with your detachable metal hand.
