Nope... but does it really have to be? Mechamaniac has a point. So do you. No debate needed. Respect each other's opinions and all is well. If the mods think its too much, they'll lock one, the other, or both. My $.02 - both releases are fine... paint job could be more perfect, but I'm thrilled with mine. Both of them. I can't tell that the Millia is any different than the Max, QC-wise.

I'd rather Yamato come up with a new paint scheme. Maybe something like the Advanced Valkyrie or a stealth-type or something. If you're gonna do limited edition repaints of existing toys, then you should at least vary them up.

I'd definitely say a 1/48 and FAST packs.

Well... maybe this is a negative toy forum... can't we be both? But to be more serious, just because someone thinks it should be posted somewhere else doesn't make the forum negative, it just makes it a bit anal-retentive. As for the APU name... I always thought you ran the Kwik-E-Mart, man!

Definitely a fake. Usually you'll end up at some site that's set up to look just like eBay, but it isn't - you can tell by the use of eBay as a subdomain. What it really is a DB area to harvest people userids and passwords. I read an interview with a guy who did this and just bragged about how unbelieavably easy it is to steal from dumb people on the internet. I thought of naive folks like my parents, etc... and it really made you want to find this guy and choke the life out of him.

Dedicated to Keith...and all other M7 fans
Blaine23 replied to John Focker's topic in Movies and TV Series
That pretty much sums it up, folks. I think some people are "in the middle" on M7, but the majority of folks here either love it or hate it. -
I actually think these fellows were ready to hunt you down pretty soon if you hadn't responded! Good to see ya, glad the project isn't dead, Spiffy.

Lordy, that's impressive. As much as I dislike MIB toys for myself, it is awfully cool to see them lined up like that. Neato, thanks for sharing.
-
That's because all of his women pretty much look the same. All of them look like Witchblade. Tomb Raider, Fathom, Wonder Woman... it's all interchangeable. Just my opinion.

Awesome! Thanks for the clarification, LePoseur... the lack of explanation made it seem almost impossible from the web page. I would watch this show daily. The meaner the reality show... the better. I'm only waiting until we start throwing wanna-be actors into a pit with Siegfried & Roy's pal Monticore the killer tiger. That's entertainment!

I really, really dig the way the costumes, hair, etc. are beginning to look more and more like the 70's vibe of ANH. Cool pics... I hope this turns out as good as it could be.

Paging Dr. Phil, Paging Dr. Phil... Just messing with you, JSA - I think the decision to not have kids is a particularly brave one, JSA - considering societal pressure, etc. There's a ton of folks I know that I wished had decided to not have children rather than have them and take their personal crap out on them. And (to be back on topic), one must admit that not having kids is easily the most effective way to protect your valkyrie toys from kids.

Macross 7 Sucks! Macross 7 Rules!
Blaine23 replied to Blaine23's topic in MW Site News & Member Feedback
It's not so much that they bother, they just derail any M7 question alltogether... remember, I'm not talking censorship, but rather organization. -
When you Said Guys in Black with Guns on Bikes I was thinking of Black Rain not Rush Hour 2 and that Asian Prince Dude looks like a girl Yeah, but ever since Rush Hour, every asian guy on a motorcycle makes me scream "Ricky Tan! Ricky Tan!" I dunno why, but it's fun.

Of "new" artists, I'd go with Ross. His work is revolutionary. I'm also a softie for Frank Miller's rendering of Supes in Dark Knight Returns. But to me, Superman's a classic, thus my pick is...

Not at all pathetic, that's just good Photoshop design skills. You're doing great layouts for someone unfamiliar with PS. Maybe try PMing around to see who has some copies of the books that doesn't care too much about the Spines to get some good scans. Maybe somebody with a damaged one, or something.

You mean guys riding around on motorcycles firing rounds from semi automatics isn't positive? Ricky Tan! Ricky Tan!

Those designs look really good, Anubis... my favorite is the M+ Mech, but I'm not really a fan of that character collage on the left. In fact, I'd say the biggest problem I have with all of the designs thus far is that it's the same 5 or 6 images just being rotated around. We definitely need to get some of those artbooks scanned...

Thank you, BSU. And it ain't the eyepatch, she'd be hot in a clown outfit.

Ducktales was a kids show... meaning it was for kids, so when I WAS a kid I was into it. I've outgrown it now, but at least the show wasn't sissy... It wasn't teaching kids to lose their grasp on the realities of war or greed especially... Life lessons were learned in that show and the tough Mo-fo's servived. M7 is a kids show that teaches kids how to lose their grasp on reality, embrace the weakness and standing against authority just for the sake of standing against authority. It's about ducks wearing short pants. That's all I'm saying. Besides, I was just razzin' ya. According to a one minute Google search, your favorite duck show debuted in 1988. I was 14 by then, so to me, it's a baby's show - for little brothers and sisters. For all I know Duck Tales was the most important work of fiction since Citizen Kane - I was already too into guitars to even think about watching kiddie crap like that. I'm sure the underlying message of Duck Tales was quite masculine.

Yup. I think the film looks exceptionally cool. The filtered light and the obvious effort in set design are really different compared to most of the crap I see being released in the summer. As to whether or not it's a good movie... remains to be seen. I think the delay to September was done both to save it's chances of being buried under Spiderman2 as well as make it better, in both effects and editing.

I like both films. Ringu scores big points for being the original, but I liked Verbinski's direction better in The Ring. If Dreamworks had any sense, they would have put them out together as a set with some freakin' extras. As it is we get two film-only releases. Yawn.

What does the R2 Blade Runner feature? The R1 Blade Runner is Ridley Scott's crap director's cut with Deckard's commentary deleted, and with extra scenes folded in to make the viewer believe that Deckard was a replicant, because that is what Ridley Scott thought despite the fact that Philip K. Dick himself has said that he never intended for Deckard to be a replicant. . Aside from that, the issue of Deckard's narration...there are some of us that LIKED that part. IMHO, it gave the movie an old world detective novel feeling that matched very well with the retro futuristic setting, and especially Deckard's character. I think that the R2 version has the commentary and is minus the scenes, but I'm not sure. I like both versions, personally. Blade Runner and Dune both need a good release that has both cuts of the film and loads of extras. Sorta like the Anchor Bay 2disc Army of Darkness or even better - my favorite DVD release yet - Brazil: The Criterion Edition. But I'm glad they're finally a better version of Predator. Now if they could just get around to my other Special Edition dream releases... Raising Arizona, Dazed and Confused, Office Space, and about a million other flicks that deserve a serious SE treatment.

As someone who sat around waiting for new Macross products from 1991 to 2001 - and getting none, nothing, except bad Joon's bootlegs and $1000 price tags on old Bandai's and Taka's - I have to tell you that you're probably looking at this through rose-colored glasses. I've seen a ton of speculation here... but I haven't seen much proof that Yamato is A. Scaling back their Macross releases. B. Not making enough money on Macross. We don't know what the next (or any) 1/48 will be, but I've yet to see them sell at clearance prices like the 1/60's or have extremely small production runs. I'd say we don't know much about their future plans because Yamato is just being more tight-lipped about all that, for various reasons. They definitely seem to be making a move toward selling the VF-0S at a size and scale that is more affordable... but they're much more likely to sell that toy to a "new, young fan" of the current OVA. Perhaps they realized that the "long-timers" who can afford high priced, big items will buy 1/48's and Monsters and Q-Raus will buy them. Now they're simply looking to get a wider market for their toys on a show that is actually current, not 20 years old. Again, I think it's a bit too soon to run around with a sign that says "The End is Nigh!" And AgentONE knows far too much about DuckTales for a guy that bashes M7 for being fruity.
