King Conan? Guess who's playing him
Blaine23 replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Guys, it's not as though Arnie can ask his boss to take time off from work... he's a freakin' governor now. As for continuity issues... the aforementioned poo of Conan the Destroyer and Red Sonja have forced me to pretend they don't exist at all, so I've given up on continuity. -
The hideious misshapen black Testor's paint attempt at converting a Jetfire to a Skull-One comes to mind. My first and only attempt at a custom when I was about 12. Thank god there's no pictures.

Anime Network to re-air all 85 Robotech

I do consider Arkansas to be a backwater state... but that's just because I live across the river in Tennessee and we like to make fun of you guys. And nope, we don't have it here, either. Is AR on TimeWarner cable too? Hello, fellow Southerner! Let's get out our banjos and have us a proper duel! -
King Conan? Guess who's playing him

I wish they'd give 2 time Mr. Universe and Ahnuld pal, Ralf Moeller another shot at the role of Conan. He even has the bad pre-requisite accent (although his is German, not Austrian... close enough!). But perhaps he still has the stink of the failed TV series on him. The guy is friggin enormous and he wasn't too bad in Gladiator, either. Plus, he's not a wrestler! -
That does actually bring up a good point... Did Mikimoto design those... uh, space monsters? If not, who does design monsters, if Kawamori does the mechs and Mikimoto does the characters? Even as a M7 fan, I'm not a huge fan of the monster-ish designs. Though I will say that the Teletubbies are far scarier.

Yeah, well they match the oddball story and the oddball characters. C'mon, A1... even you have to admit that blood-drenched valks are cool. Particularly when it involves using a nuke on whale in space. That's just awesome.

Ain't no problem at all... after all the work I've done on the reg. Macross box, that should be a piece of cake. You guys just let me know when you find the design that works best for you.

Hee... I just saw my quote in your sig, MM... I guess we've found your pilot figure.

Oooo... did you hear that? he called you a bitch... C'mon ZD show him what you got... What's that? *wshshshwhshshshh Man, Blaine he said something about your mom... that ain't right... OK boys, FIGHT!!! No fights here... just silly insults. EXO... you're that guy that always tries to make it happen, though aren't you? I'll take you out instead. 3 O' Clock... in the playground. In all seriousness, if they do make a reissue of these someday, it would be cool if they addressed some of the paint issues. It'd also be cool if they fixed them up B4 they release any other "color" valks, like the CF.

Hmmm... not exactly the most awe-inspiring news. I'd just as soon they replaced the Oak with some other unknown behemoth. But, I will say this. I think that the Conan the Destroyer and Red Sonja movies proved without a doubt that the most important person to be involved in a Conan movie is John Milius, not Arnold Schwarzenegger. -
I am very hostile and I'm also 3 inches tall... How exactly does an MPC lover seem? What a weird insult. Well... you're a... you're a matchbox figure fan! As for you first, second, and third points... well, they're just goofy and I disagree completely. Feel free to keep waiting for that "soon-to-come" reissue. And try not to ever refer to anything as a "Hicky J"... that's just uber-fruity.

Another fan saved! Ignorance Is King!

That's just silly. I'm fairly certain Yamato doesn't "sabotage" releases in order to get you to buy a "fixed" version. Y'know... it's crap like that that makes me believe Yamato has got to have the most retarted fanbase on Earth. They go to the trouble to fix mistakes on later releases and they're accused of screwing them up in the first place to make more dough? They make mistakes... at least they do try to correct them when possible. And as far as waiting for a second release on Max & Millia... start holding your breath now and we'll all watch as you turn so many pretty shades of blue. I doubt you'll see a reissue, for the simple reason that because of the price, these won't sell near as many units as the first 2 1/48's.

I dig it quite a bit... I am a bit curious what her face looks like under there, though.

You can find that logo on either of the Soundtrack Vol 1 versions... I'll help you Photoshop out the sky and fill it in with black, if you need to. Looky here - Macrossworld Music CD's I found a different character collage on one of them. I might like it better... what do you think, Anubis?

You're in the same folder with Mil-tron, dude.

That's actually a pretty good point. The folks on this board seem to come off negative... but the fact remains that the minority of people that are really unsatisfied with these two toys are simply very vocal. Which makes since, because they're unhappy about it. Most here loved the toy, but there's not really much to praise that hasn't been already said in all of the other 1/48 threads. Kinda like the squeaky wheel gets the grease, the loudest complaining minority gets all the attention. Which would leave those who don't have the toy to think that it's a much, much worse toy than it is. Just something to keep in mind when you're reading bad reviews.

... and now there's reason # 4,030,512 that I'm glad as hell I'm never going to visit Iraq.

Intimidation through fear is always the best deterrant to children's curiosity. When I was a kid, my Uncle had moved into my grandma's house from college in Hawaii (lucky bastard!). Anyway, his room was entirely filled with everything on Earth that was cooler than the crap you can find in Grandma's house. Hell, it was cooler than my own room at home. He had surfboards, a waterbed (not common back then), guns, bow and arrow, all sorts of cool liquor bottles, a funny green thing I know realize was a big damn bong (grandma was pretty naive), and best of all... a giant stack of a 4 or 5 year subscription to Playboy. I was around 12 or so... and my Uncle would go to work and leave his door wide open. My cousins and I were dying to go in there, but we were terrified of him. He'd let us know in very clear terms if we stepped our foot across the doorway, he'd know, and we would be dealt with. In an unpleasant manner. Lord knows I wanted to... but I never crossed that door. My uncle was too damn big and scary...

Yeah, you'd definitely need to grab a new scan of it at 300 dpi or it'll come out looking fuzzy at best.

I heard of... but I had no idea they was real... They say them mods could kill you just as soon as look at you. I always figured they came from some place near the equator... said it reminded 'em of being back home in hell.

OMG, he's discovered the secret! You mean... Santa isn't real either? I am Lick Hunter! Fear me now!

b-a-d-o-n-k-a-d-o-n-k There's a correct way to spell that? Who knew Webster's was already putting out a New Ebonic Edition dictionary so quickly? Figs look good. Too bad they didn't come with the toy, but the thought is nice.
