Ah, you just like having guys around that haven't fallen for the "rub my pectoral muscles and I'll buy you a Yamato" scheme that you've been using for years. I just can't figure out why >EXO< keeps falling for it, though. Seriously - I'm with A1, the n00bs are, for the most part, good folks. And to be back on topic... this thread amounts to yet another request by those who care about this site to try and help keep it current. I know it's an old subject - but it really is something that would be cool to address eventually.

It would be nice if they altered all that footage... but it would make even more sense if they were going to add/alter footage to sort out that weird mess of a Macross Saga ending... SDF-2? I don't see no SDF-2? All that being said, I dig the pic. As for continuity, they'll probably just say "Dana dyed her hair in SC, 'cause she's all girly! And now we're changing it back."

Back on the dub tip - while completely ignoring AgentONE and Hurin's Devil Went Down to Georgia bet (PS - Hurin, you should have asked for a fiddle made of gold, not $50 bucks!)... Another reason I think it may be likely that HG won't comission a dub for DYRL, is to protect their Robotech brand. Aside from "satisfying anime purists" by releasing Macross TV, Mospeada, and Southern Cross without dubs - they also are protecting Robotech by keeping all original material dub-free. Basically, they might not want people hearing Hikaru called Hikaru instead of "Lick Hunter"... it will just confuse their branding. But I've been wrong before, they may take that risk to milk as much money out of this as they can.

And it's also godawful. Even RT fans decry its existence. Hell, even Macek disowned it. Trust me, you're better off without it. For the record, CDJapan has just begun shipping Macross Zero 04, so technically it's almost out.

Actually, since they severed their communication - we have no way of knowing if they know what it is we want next. They can always read Macrossworld. That's clear as mud. "Norton, I know... that you know.. that I know... that you been watchin' me."

Something tells me that Yamato would be stoopid silly to not have any more 1/48's planned when the buzz (both here and overseas) on the 1/100 VF-0 is worse than asbestos underoos. Plus, the Koenig's obviously still a pretty good ways off. Mayhap Yamato is just being quieter than they used to be. It would be pretty ridiculous for no Canon Fodder 1A to be released since it's really just a repaint.

Well, you could consider Robotech a dub on top of a mangling. Something tells me that if they release DYRL in the states, it will be dubbed. I for one, hope that they get all-new voice actors if they do so. And, I'm on board with the "a dubbed or R1 DVD release would be great. More power to them. Please just don't f- with my Yamato toys!" Yes, we all hate HG for what they did to Macross originally. . . blah blah blah. But let's also be able to appreciate what they might do right in the future. In fact, if they do release DYRL without RT-ing it to death, I think it might be a small step towards redeeming themselves and recognizing their mistakes. . . as was their allowing the Animeigo DVDs. H True dat, but I was trying to point out that their last dub occurred about 20 years ago. And as usual, I don't care whether it's dubbed or not anyway. DVDs have this cool button on the remote that allows me to ignore any bad dubs. And Disco - Ewilen was praising your chutzpah a la Goodfellas. No offense was meant, I'm sure.

This definitely does smell a bit like Sunwards... the funny thing is that both of these companies do this stuff - announce something, put up a website, ads... then one stops the other, but behind the scenes. Basically we all sit around watching, speculating, arguing... and we never really see what happens. It sure would be cool if either the two companies learned to play nice, destroyed one another, or openly explained exactly what the deal is with this wacky licensing fued they got. Like that's gonna happen.

Again, I don't want little bitty weenie HCM Pro Macross toys... bring on the the Chunky Monkey VF-0 line, though... that's like my dream come true. And while they're at it - they really should finish their line of 1/55 VF-1 releases.

I've looked for cheap Max 1A's but they're not that common. If you can find one cheap - you usually still have to pay through your nose for shipping. I'd say they're all doing really well in terms of sell-through. With the 1/60's we saw huge clearance sales fairly early on for the Max and Hikaru 1A's. No such luck today.

it would be interesting if they followed the super possiables with DYRL MPC's and Strike Cannons...... Not interesting... more like inevitable. Hmm... well, we've all wanted a R1 release of DYRL for years, perhaps this could be a good one. I am curious why there's all this dub talk. HG hasn't dubbed any of the original anime used for RT - Mospeada, Southern Cross, or TV Macross - I don't see why they would here. All that being said, we've heard absolutely nothing from BW regarding all of HG's movements toward DYRL, so maybe it's legit. After all the crap with HG, I'm beyond caring that much anymore. Who here hasn't already seen DYRL a hundred times?

Never too late to order, my friend. But you ought to order real soon. Paul and I are finalizing the Mech box as we speak and it's looking even better than it did when I mocked it up. The thing I like best about DA's box is the top. I love the size and placement of the Macross logo and the watercolor sunset behind it. Awesome stuff.

Talisman movies' been discussed quite a bit on Ain't It Cool News. Apparently Ed Zwick (Last Samurai) is directing, Spielberg producing, and they're currently rewriting the script, so it might not be that soon... but it's a good thing because the old script apparently hugged nuts and mangled up the story pretty bad. As for how to buy the UK versions - Amazon UK.

I'm actually resisting the 1st chapter because that'll make the wait unbearable for me... Instead I've re-read (or audiobooked) all of the major Tower tie-ins - Little Sisters of Eluria, Talisman & Black House, Salem's Lot, Insomnia, and I'm finishing up Hearts In Atlantis. Great stuff... can't wait for Song of Susannah... and the British covers rock the house - even though I love Whelan, his 7 cover isn't doing it for me.

Because gaming magazine reviewers are soooooo committed to journalistic integrity and could never be bought or comped enough free crap and hookers to give higher reviews... Wonderfully bad idea!
