I know a certain member (does he still even hang out here?) that's really gonna love complaining about this thread!

Yes, you certainly do have a story filled with dramatics. Mayhap too much. You know... it's just an animated show, not a religion. There's no conversion required... though circumcision might be necessary - I'll check the by-laws. Macross & Robotech, we've all seen both and many of us were raised on RT. It's cool if you like both, either, or one a little more than the other. I wouldn't worry to much about "having your fandom in crisis"... just enjoy what comes naturally and welcome to the boards. Hell, you got the names right, that's huge for a "convert".

Weird... I think I found this site when I was on AOL using a 2400 baud modem.

question:anyone know good ralph bashki sites
Blaine23 replied to zeus the zentran's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah, because there were so many other American animators even trying to do something different than the Disney monolith mold during the 70's and 80's. Bakshi deserves credit simply for not being part of that machine and going the tougher road. -
Heh Heh.. He said rubbers. Heh Heh.

Good points, all. I liked the contained-ness of the original movie - it made it more realistic, in my eyes. I would assume by the title of 28 weeks later... that the only real way to make it a sequel and use that title would be to have mean that the problem wasn't as "contained" as the ending of the first film led you to believe. It wasn't as if we saw everything get neatly wrapped up at the end of the first film - in either ending. Containing a massive outbreak of some weird mutant zombie virus has got to be a bit difficult, y'know? A worse idea would be what you already stated - "Another Outbreak! This time... in Hawaii! NO!" Or the idea that maybe a few weeks after these original zombies die, they continue to mutate and come back. Hell if I know. All I do know is that I might give a rat's ass if the guy who directed Trainspotting, Shallow Grave, The Beach and the original was directing this one. Instead we'll end up with some studio powered B.S.

2500th Anniversary? I knew Macross was an old anime, but... wow.

Paint chipping happens with diecast. I choose to enjoy it because I believe a real valk would have chipped paint too.

Very ancient site... but still completely awesome. I think I'm more stunned that you hadn't seen it before now, A7.

For SALE Section needs some Rules!

I have to disagree with you, the Mechafreak incident is situational. Approximately once every year there is a major scam (excluding the auctions, trade, wanted forums since we're not discussing those) in the For Sale section. It's not like people are getting scammed every week or even every month. However, I do agree that the drama has always been there. What else would you expect from a bunch of 30 year old male virgins living in mommy's basement. There's one major difference between a business and the For Sale section: Business owners pay money to set up shop. None of us are paying a dime to peddle our wares here, if crap happens, oh well Btw, Kamineko, I think a pop-up is a great idea. Just as long as it's three lines max and uses simple terms. Anything more and a newbie will close it and dive in head-first. Eh, from a web design standpoint, a pop-up is most likely not going to be effective at all. I know for a fact my browser has a popup blocker and prohibits goofy javascript as well. To be truthful, I think the more we try to be "official" about how we do things in the For Sale area, the more likely it is some newbie will feel like it's MW's fault he got ripped off, should a bad deal occur. I'd hate to see that happen. Macrossworld isn't a service like eBay for buyers and sellers to use to make dough, it's a board to hang out and discuss things with like minded fans. The only real moderation that really should occur in the For Sale section is a continued warning that it's "buyer beware" and that people should be careful about who they send money to. -
I never minded the face... so I never tried to custom the visor... But nothing's creepier than when people try to paint the eyes on the Stick head... uber weird.

Glad you dug City of God, >EXO< I totally forgot to mention that it has some pretty tough scenes to sit through - but I saw it at the theater, so pushing "stop" wasn't really an option. Glad you stuck through it and dug it. I was also wondering why 1984 was so significant in Hirohawa's post... perhaps it's a personal year or something. Also Mr. March - This might be my new favorite quote. Good point.

No Danny Boyle is a very bad thing. It was his direction that made the movie more than crap, IMHO. Any sequel without him is just the studio seeing if they can milk a minor hit for a few more schillings. Do they still have schillings any more?

You would make a wonderful Dread Pirate Roberts.

secondly, why is it that you and Hurin(sorry to bring him into this) just "troll" around the boards looking to start beef or push peoples buttons? you really had nothing helpful to add, and the only reason you're posting here is to irritate me. normal person + anonymity + audience = total frakk wad. Oh, I get it... you've changed your ways. In the last week. Since you were gonna go hop on a plane and do justice on June 14th. My bad. I made a point to the thread regarding your plea for polite behavior in a For Sale thread. The point is simple - don't act like an ass in other threads, then complain about it happening in your thread. It comes off as hypocritical. The same advice really goes for anyone here, myself included. Also, I've got no beef with you and I'm not exactly known for being buds with your sparring buddy Hurin, either. If you think that I "troll" Macrossworld to pick on you, you're mistaken. I just put my opinion out there like anybody else. I might tend to take you a bit more seriously if you didn't curse in every other post, too. -
ROTFLMAO, JSArclight.... Oddly enough your incredible pitches only reinforced my first instinct when it comes to pitching movies to the Schwarz... I would have suggested he immediately option the Slade Ripfire series of movies, posted by brilliant comedian Patton Oswalt on the Mr. Show website, bobanddavid.com. Check them out here - Slade Ripfire: Deadly Blood-kick to Oblivion

I'M CALLING YOU OUT!! I'm really sorry... but aren't you the same Haterist that calls people out and schedules his vacation time at work to travel across the country and whoop ass? Oh, and not in PM, either. My point being, if you run around and piss people off in various threads across the board, I wouldn't be too stunned or indignant when it happens to your own Sale thread. Just my advice, take it or leave it. -
I suppose it'll happen when the now defunct toy company Gakken rises from the dead. 'Til then, I'd buy an original on eBay or hope for the best with Toynami.

Yes, that was spelled out in Macross Hobby Handbook, but may not be completely official. Ground Battroid Protector may be more official. I knew I'd read it somewhere, thanks Nanashi. Where is it referred to as Ground Battroid Protector?

How is it teasing you? They'll come out when they're ready. Get some patience, hombre.

I'd like to see Tarantino stop making movies all together, since he clearly has no talent. Yeah, that's, like, totally obvious because nobody goes to see his movies!

Cool! I did think it was possible for the photo itself to be not showing what panel lines are there... you can see bits of them in certain parts of the pics. I also don't agree with adding lines that aren't there - but this one looked pretty bare in those pics. I wonder if we'll see any other changes in the final design...

Non-transformable valks = none of my money.

Okay, those lyrics are completely beautiful... Which totally makes up for the unneccesary re-visit of Freddie Mercury in chain mail. I thought I'd left that behind in the late 80's. I was wrong. So wrong.
