Those aren't so bad. They're for the little kiddies! I personally like the ones where the make superheroes out civil servants.

Iron Eagle is awesome in its sheer 80's-ness. I don't recall any music specifically, other than hearing alot of Queen. Which is the hallmark of any great film, their song "One Vision" is in the movie. Flash Gordon, Highlander, Iron Eagle.... nothing but hits for Queen at the cinema! This is the soundtrack listing from the IMDB. Any movie that features the musical magic of Ronnie James Dio is fine by me. Even if he must hand his cape and scepter over to the D.

I disagree, I WANT ALL OF THEM! Well, whooppee for you. But do you have any reason why they should release them in order? I just want the fan-favorites first. I couldn't really care less if they reissued the ones I don't like.

Funny movie site. 100 worst movies of all time
Blaine23 replied to GobotFool's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Heh... Red Dawn surely must have been financed by the NRA. I know that I, for one, wake up screaming in the middle of night at the dread of being invaded by Cuba. Still they get props for putting what is easily the worst movie ever - Rhinestone. As well as the incomparably bad Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band starring the BeeGees and Peter Frampton. And Gymkata! Gymkata! However, I do think they tend lump some decent flicks together because of the bad sequels. Where they make a point to single out only the Cheech & Chong movies of the 80's, they then throw out that all of the Porky's and Police Academy films are terrible. The truth is both Police Academy 1 and the first Porky's are both excellent comedies of their time period and really only the sequels bring them down into poo-poo land. Like Skull Leader, there are always films I'm gonna completely disagree with the list. I may not think Armageddon is Citizen Kane, but I wouldn't put it in the Top 100 worst. If they took away that stupid "Animal Crackers" scene, it might not even make the top 500 worst for me. But the one I absolutely and completely disagree with is Natural Born Killers. They are just dead wrong on that one. It's an amibitious film. As is Mars Attacks! But they really missed out by not including Young Einstein, starring ass known as Yahoo Serious. -
Two things that might give you some kind of answer to your question - 1. Macrossworld. The actual site, not the forum, has pricing info in the toy reviews for older toys - here. 2. eBay. Do a search on Bandai or Takatoku and then click on "Completed Listings." This will show you actual, real world prices that individual toys have sold for very recently. You can't get much better info than that. But it definitely seems that the Takatoku and Bandai toy values have dropped considerably since Bandai's reissues and Yamato valkyries were released. Most of the folks here consider that to be a good thing as the prices seemed inflated before and now most seem more realistic.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

If hell really has an "Ironic Punishment Department," as seen on that old Treehouse of Horror episode, then I hope they have an infinite loop of the old SW Holiday Special for you. "So....you like Wookiees, do you?" Y'know... for just a minute there, I'd forgotten Itchy and Co. Thanksabunch. Still love the wookies, though... if the Special made me hate anything it was Bea Arthur. Okay. Well, it made me hate her more. -
Trust me, I know the feeling. Just wait until your kid is 3. Hell on two feet! Lol... no kidding. Graham you should plan on having some free time in, oh - maybe 20 years.

Hey man, I love the 1/55's like they were made of crack and I'm a junkie. But, there's no need to compare it to the Yamatos. They're all great toys. The 1/55 just happens to be a 20 year old design that's totally stood the test of time and emerged as a true classic among all transformable toys. That being said, if I saw some for $17, I'd have bought them all. Just because I could.

You guys know anywhere on the web I can pick this up? I've wanted to get Op & Megs WST, but didn't feel like seeking them out.

Yeah, I've been watching the reports on AICN on this movie for a month or so now - I can't wait. But I must admit, when I first heard there was to be a Team America, I kept expecting a motocross force. Now I just figured out why... I actually have this comic. I only remember that one of them was all mysterious, the Maruader and he looked like Snake-Eyes on wheels.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

Wookie goodness! Seriously, they could announce today that they've ditched the whole "Anakin Schmanakin" storyline alltogether and changed the title to "EpIII - Reign of the Wookie" and I would be the happiest I could be. Because... well, wookies just make everything better. Wookies unfortunately have been brought low, due to their lack of proper speech abilities. Sadly, the occasional wookie has been forced to eek out a living doing Skinemax features, such as - Wookie Lust 4 - Grunts of Passion, The Forbidden Fires of Kashyyyk, and the ever-popular Brown Fur Diaries - the series. Luckily Chewbacca never had to do this sort of work, being that he was a furry Radio Shack on legs for Han Solo. But he will admit to occasionally watching them, uh - when there wasn't anything else on. -

The hell you will. He's got a two day head start on you, which is more than he needs. Shawn's got friends in every town and village from here to the Sudan, he speaks a dozen languages, knows every local custom, he'll blend in, disappear, you'll never see him again. With any luck, he's got the grail already. I've offered before and I'll offer again and again. Any help needed with code, content layout, photoshop, etc - I'll be happy to help gratis.

Dude, HG Wells has been rotating in his casket at about 200 mph ever since that godawful Time Machine movie with Guy Pearce came out. He was already rotating before that from Kilmer and Brando in Dr. Moreau. And he likely never gets any rest in his grave from the countless awful versions of the Invisible Man that exist. If anything a Spielberg/Cruise announcement is probably the best news old dead H.G. has had in a long, long time. I'm also surprised that no one's mentioned Empire of the Sun as one of Spielberg's best. A Color Purple's a great film too.

Word to that. That's kinda why I've been staying out of it. But the last 3 designs are all fantastic and I'd get any variation on 'em. Great job, guys.

Yep... definitely looking this toy will be a highly discounted item in about 2 months. I'll pick one up for around $30-40. The other great thing is now I'll know which pieces to be extra, extra careful with - bummer about yours, >EXO<.

Ive seen Macross 1,2 and plus what am i missing
Blaine23 replied to VF-101Guy's topic in Movies and TV Series
Well - Macross DRYL is one DVD, a movie that basically retells MacrossTV with a slightly different story and all-new beautiful animation. It's a must-have. Flashback 2012 is one DVD, mostly music video animation and such - it's great, but not alot of story to it. All the Macross 7 stuff - the TV series, the movie, the lost eps, is all available as 2 big DVD sets - read any Macross 7 thread to see how much it loved and hated by fans. Macross Zero is on episode 4 - the last one should be coming out soon. Personally, I'm waiting to buy the DVDs as a set, once the series is done. It is a prequel to Macross, featuring the first test valkyries developed. All of the above are bootlegs and are subtitled - they haven't been licensed in the US and aren't likely to be anytime soon, due to licensing struggles between Harmony Gold (Robotech) and Big West (Japan). -
I've seen it. It was in a little bar off the coast of Atlantis and the Yamato YF-19FP was sipping a nice, cool mojito with Sasquatch and Jim Morrison. They were discussing how much they love to play Half-Life2 when they were interrupted by Amelia Earhart and the Lindbergh baby. Okay. That's not true. But it might as well be.
-
Ugh. But at least you're not turning it into a Robotech toy... so, I'll forgive you.
-
No crack for you! One Year! Seriously people - next it'll be the 1J's everybody's clamoring over. Save yourself the headache and buy them now. Because they'll seem really, really, really cool when they're overpriced.

It's yet another example of people censoring the brilliant but cutting satirical humor of a show that could only be described as subversive, entertaining, compelling... and yes, life-changing... that show is Alf. It's alot like the book-burnings and witch trials that have plauged our poor country for centuries and beyond. The higher forces will always seek to suppress the art of revolution. Damn the empirical forces that keep us from enjoying the raw, passionate genius of Alf without unneccessary blinders! Damn them to hell!

Well, the absolute worst thing about "the big surprise twist ending" is when you know that there is one coming. Even if you don't know exactly what it is - if your friend says," dude, that movie has such a surprise ending" - if you've got any sense you'll figure it out before it happens. This is assuming the surprise makes sense, is foreshadowed, etc. The problem with Shyamalan - we all know something's gonna happen at the end of the movie. It's never a surprise. Each time it's less and less successful and that's just the basic law of diminishing returns. Want to surprise folks, M. Night? Make a movie a movie that plays straight - all the way to the end. No one will ever see it coming.

Dude, when I pay $8 and give over 2 hours of my life and walk out with nothing to say but "meh" - it sucked.

Yep. This movie looks stupid. I didn't need see any special to tell me, though. I sat through Event Horizon and that was enough for me to figure out that any movie made by this tool would suck. The power of the licenses and the heavy marketing will pretty much guarantee a big opening weekend - but from every review I've heard, this movie is pretty much a sad effort. Sorry if that seems pessimistic to some, but I've seen alot of films for 30 years now and I'm getting pretty good at smelling a dog from the trailer alone. Besides, if I hear enough people tell me it's great - then I'll happily chunk down some change and see it - I'm always happy to be wrong, too.
