I was just poking around the link that IXTL posted and saw pics of the 1/60 TV Hayao Kakisaki VF-1A: http://www.yamato-toys.com/photo_data/view...1291/f/001b.jpg Don't know if anyone else noticed that yet.

Thanks for the review, it looks great! I can't wait to get mine. I hope the delay from Toynami is a short one.
-
Probably not Converters. They have almost zero die-cast.

Which one's the white VF-1S reissue? The VF-1S in gerwalk mode is also the grey reissue (note the Focker pilot name). The lighting makes it look almost white. The white VF-1S reissue had Hikaru's name. It's a bit clearer in this picture:

It looks like tampo printing on the leg landing gear door on the grey VF-1S in the foreground. Although it looks like the markings are the shoulders are stickers (you can see the sticker edges). I thought they'd be tampo printed.

Image Anime is the only place in Manhattan that I've been to with Macross items, but it's been years since I've been there (I thought they were moving to Queens, but I'm apparently wrong). Supposedly, Forbidden Planet has Macross stuff, so you might want to check that out. If you stop by, let us know what they have. It used to be a cool store even without Macross toys, so it's worth checking out anyway. Thanks!

I thought the last reissues had those stripes. It looks like the shoulder markings may be tampo printed this time.

Great news! I'm looking forward to going! -
Thanks! Looking forward to going again!

Looks great!

Image Anime (www.imageanime.com) is pretty close to Madison Square Garden. It's pricey, but it's got lots of stuff.

Macross universe UN military divisions
Sturmvogel replied to platypiman247's topic in Movies and TV Series
I think you're right. I thought Misa mentioned the "UN Army Pacific Fleet" in DYRL when she and Hikaru came upon the wreckage of the Prometheus. -
Yeah, the cheat codes are great if you want to try out all the levels and all the mecha without having to work through the horrendous story line.

It's in PA. I already bought 5 Arch Enemies Gundams ranging in price from $21.99 (KMart) to $24.99 (TRU). So I was a little disappointed to see them for about $14 last week at Target!
-
Gundams are also on clearance now. I saw Arch Enemies series Gundams at my local Target for only $13.98 each.

Did anyone else think of Scooby-Doo when he said "Mystery Squad" Shadow Force doesent sound that bad. But it also reminded me ALOT of Power Rangers! Wasent Power Rangers also originally Japanese? It DOES seem Power(ass) Ranger-ish. I thought Power Rangers was the lamest thing in existence untill Pokemon came around. "Shadow Force" kind of reminds me of "MegaForce." I guess Ace Hunter and Rick Hunter have the same last names, so that also sparked a similarity (I know it's a stretch).

Congratulations!

Very, very cool. I can't believe you crammed all that into 700KB. Great job!

Yep. And although they looks pretty bad, the quality is very good. My Zark looks brand new, but my bootleg Macres 1J is floppy and pretty beat up. And I personally prefer the Henke toy over the Banprestos.
-
Thanks for the info, this is good stuff. Here's a pic of the card for my "Zark" toy. And as you pointed out, on the bottom of the card it does say "Select" as well as "Mark".
-
Lastly, here's "Zark" in "giant moth" mode in front of the back of the Macres box. I thought the title of the transformation instructions was funny.
-
This is my "Zark" Convertor. It was my second Macross toy, but it says "Japan" on it. Could it be a repackaged Takatoku rather than just a bootleg based on the Takatoku Henke toys?
-
Well, I finally dug out my bootleg Macres valk (my first Macross toy). It looks like the bootleggers did a good job approximating the Takatoku box. It's my first time attaching a photo to a post, so I hope this works,

LOL, I love picking on Jersey! But that's only because I'm from Maryland, and Jersey is the only state with higher auto insurance But my wife has [italiangoombaaccent]family[/italiangoombaaccent] in Jersey, so we're up there pretty frequently. MMmm, white castle, and Gencarelli's bakery in Bloomfield.... You just can't get good bread like they have in Jersey, it's the water, all the pollution makes for such a nice chewy crust... Ha, good stuff! I was born and raised in NJ, but I moved to PA, so I can breathe much easier now! Yes, White Castle was fine dining, but White Rose was the ultimate. Kind of like super-sized White Castle burgers!
