  1. Who's pitching a tent pole for Robotech? Definitely isn't me.
  2. Nope, I enjoy watching it myself. I'm not just into the mecha and robot anime. Being in a couple bands myself, I guess that's why this one stuck with me.
  3. Pre....and....ordered!!! I'm hoping this spawns a re-release of the Zero valks, and the 0D.
  4. Daisuke WAS Toynami's division that did those toys. As of now, it looks like they're branching off into other venues. While it sucks that Daisuke was let go (he's very talented), I'm not much for seeing Robotech toys come out. It's better that HG realize that their market is drying up, than to keep on pretending that they're doing so much with the franchise. They won't make TPB print runs here due to market, they seem to have the toys drying up...hopefully it's a trend that keeps growing. Sorry, but I'd rather have the mess disappear, than keep great products out of the states, and the rest of the world for that matter.
  5. With the news of Toynami shrinking in size with the letting go of Daisuke, the guy who sculpted the Robotech toys, I wonder if they're moving on from doing more of the toys? It doesn't look as though they were planning on releasing their 1/100 line anymore, and by the looks of it and from the rumor mill, the Robotech toy line maybe vaporware. The sales of the Battlepods is very poor, and they are being sold at fire sale prices. That usually spells one thing, no interest.
  6. Kicker, those are a nice set of books. I love having a massive amount of reference material. Love it.
  7. I loved the movie. It was full of epic, but like I said, just didn't have the connection with it. It's also a little too flashy for my taste, but I do agree, it is a great looking valk. 2/1/12, I'm ordering the guitar. I'll probably take a bunch of pics of it when it's in.
  8. Currently watching Blue Gender, catching up on K-On!, and afterwards, will go ahead in finding something completely new to watch.
  9. Must....get....DVD version!!!
  10. Ah, OK. For some reason, see the purple, and think M. Nevertheless, I love those extra parts. If could, I'd totally make the M, but I also love the color of the the original VA-3. Guess it just comes down to preference, but if Yamato never makes these, I'm going to make both. Looks like the difference is mostly in the arms and small aesthetic parts. Below is just a portion of the part I'm working on now. There's quarter circle pieces that branch off the side of it, and curve with the upper part. I need to fix the program, as it's acting up, but it's still coming along.
  11. And it prints in ABS. Now, that is what I'm talking about. I'd like to see some samples of its work to see how accurate and how precise the printing is. If it's pretty clean, that maybe an option for me.
  12. Modern Eagles are beautiful. Wouldn't mind one, but the 513 is something I think I wouldn't be as fearful carrying around. It'll be 513 w/ 10 top flame top maple, Angry Larry color, East Indian Rosewood fretboard. It's gonna be around $3700. As for the yf-29, it's not that I didn't like it. I'm not one to buy toys just for profit, either. I think that in watching the second Frontier movie, the fact that it's only in it for a very short time, it didn't give me a connection with the toy. I'd rather have the extra funds to buy something I really have been waiting for. If they become available again down the line, I'll see, but priorities first, I guess.
  13. Mine is now sold off. I'm going to wait for the VF-4 with that, or just go all out and get the PRS 513 guitar I've been wanting to get for the past 2 years.
  14. Thanks, buddy. got some stuff done on it today, and I'll post up an update pic tomorrow for you guys. After this piece is done, I should be able to pound out about 4 original parts over the next few days. Then it'll be back to a slow grind, as I design the parts that need to blend into the current piece I'm doing. Ugh, just thinking about that is stressful. LOL.
  15. I like that scene, too. As for the sound of that part, it's done well. The fade out of Claudia, then the fade in of the ambient noise coming out of her memory. Hikuro, are you done with all the mixing voice and sound? Doesn't seem like there's much left.
  16. Yep, there would be lots to consider in how to approach it, but I really wouldn't expect anyone to contact me about it. While it'd be interesting if they did, I'd just care about getting an actual toy of the VA-3, in that sea green color, or the purple M variant. I have my Macross Chronicle issue with the VA-3M out, and it's a fascinating design. It'd require a rework of the arm design (haven't got there yet), the small booster tanks, and what looks to be harpoons on the wing hardpoints. There's also some strange looking parts that stick up over the wing (?), so maybe that's just a Zolan design thing. Haven't done too much designing yesterday or today. But will get on it again tonight. I've been lagging. Lots of other things to take care of.
  17. Gubaba, I'll create a track for you, and you just do your thing with it.
  18. Yeah, that'd be cool to get Yamato to buy the design. They'd probably have to redesign some of the parts, as they have better materials to use, and better engineering, but the base of what I might be able to do here is a lot.
  19. True, but there's not much difference in the content he brings to either of his podcast. That same type of idealism is what is brought over to the RT podcast, the same paranoia, same conspiracy formulation, same racial remarks, same idiotic idealism. Also, knowing that on that political podcast, the RTx.com admin was on there, just kinda makes you wonder.
  20. If they're going to do a VF-4, why would you want them to limit what comes with it to save a few bucks. They're going to have a set price in mind already, and it's going to be inflated, so why limit what would come with it? Might as well go all out, and get what it should come with, than have the bare minimum, and wish it came with more.
  21. You mean, he went from indirectly blaming Jews for the Holocaust, and claiming they inflated the numbers, to just talking about that stupid game mod? Yes, that statement is true, and these are the people the Robotech mods respect and partner with.
  22. Got a little stuck on this one part still, as there are a lot of curves that lead to sharp angles, unsteady grades, etc. It's definitely taking time to get this part right, and since it's a piece that needs to connect almost flawlessly to the lower outside portions, well, there's a lot more going on with it than just a simple design. Tommorow, I'll take a pic of the S.H.E. kit piece, and the step I'm at with said piece. I wish I had more time over the weekend to work on it, but it was party time for most of the weekend (can't complain about that).
  23. That's too bad for them, as they're going to be missing out on someone with talent. Good luck, Daisuke, on finding a place that will give you less stress, and more joy. Hope you stay in touch, and still have time to show off your work here from time to time.
  24. Yeah, I think with the first one you did, there were some vocal parts that were low, then next scene, it'd be much higher. I ran the audio of the video through Adobe Audition, and they look pretty level to everything else. You should keep the audio of this for when/if the Blu-Ray of DYRL comes out after the series on BD.
  25. Acrylic paints are "supposedly" non-toxic, but if you're worried about them, you could just pour a little at a time, thin it with water, and paint away. When I paint with my Tamiya paints, and handpainting, that's exactly what I do (although I use acrylic thinner). The amount of paint for that is so inconsequential, I've never really heard of anyone going any further than using good common sense, and just using what you need at the time. Stick to that, and you'll be fine, unless you have some sort of allergy to it or have any respiratory problems. Then I'd suggest consulting your Dr. first.
