  1. OK, for those that got them already......PICTURES!!!! please?
  2. Wow, I commend you for a second one. I'd love to get a second, but just to have one is good for me. My airbrush is itching for the regult, but he's gonna have to wait a bit.
  3. Most arguments I've seen here are pretty reasonable debates on the shows, and about ALL the toys and products out there. Fan politics are a lot of the reason the large group of us here in SoCal booted a few people. I really don't care what people like, but when one puts that above relationships and common sense, they have a serious problem.
  4. I have this kit, and by the feel of it, it has almost the exact same feel as bondo, which accepts paint very well. That "soaking" aspect of this material makes it great for absorbing the paint, and on a micro level, will probably cure some of it slighly lower than the exterior most material. This should help it to bond better than straight ABS plastic, from the look and feel of it. As far as the type of paint, You should be able to go with any type. For me, I plan to use either an enamel or something similar in strength, after a good primer. Maybe there's someone who knows more about this material, but in painting over bondo (a strong putty used mainly in the auto industry), it seems this is very similar in feel, but don't know about the performance qualities of it. This stuff is great, in that it is flexible, but very strong.
  5. Agreed, it's not a cheap shot if it's truth. I'm just sayin'. I wonder how many RT fans are freaking out that rtsurfer posted in here. Start the podcasts! Big news in Robotech has just occurred! Suckas!!!
  6. OK, almost there with this part. As you can tell, there's one curve that integrates into another curve, then needs to wrap around the back leg plate. Looking at the sculpted part, it looks like a somewhat easy design, Buuuuut, it's kicking my behind. With the main parts built up, it's now a matter of refining, putting out the details, and cleanup. I should be on my way to doing some more of the interior parts after this, including part of the leg that slided in and out to extend it during transformation. Anyways, here's the next step in this part.
  7. Beautiful. Love it. If this is an easy swap out, I'm in for one.
  8. I ordered mine with the Fedex shipping. Should be here by Wednesday.
  9. It does seem like a few have started hitting the panic button already after this one release. Omegablue, from what you wrote, you did make an assumption that leads people to think, that your thinking this will be a common trend now. It's nothing to get bent out of shape over, it's just what appears based off of what you wrote. I wouldn't be surprised if the D variant doesn't have any tampo printing. If we see later, different versions of valks come out without tampo printing, then I'd say we might be seeing a change. At the same time, I don't think Kawamori would appreciate all valks coming out with no tampo printing. I'd probably start rationing my purchasing a lot if that was the case, but until that happens, if it happens, I'm not going to worry too much.
  10. That is true. The "play dumb" role seems to be a very easy role to play for them, as is the talking out their @$$ role. It's also the two roles their vocal mods play, as well as their lunatic fringe.BTW, welcome aboard. Hope you take time to check out some of the other sections, and some of the pretty pictures around.
  11. Kinda sorta music related, but I just ordered this http://www.guitarcenter.com/PRS-2011-513-Flame-10-Top-with-Rosewood-Neck-Electric-Guitar-H71839-i1819135.gc Looking to make a lot of great music with it. In other news, has anyone heard the new Van Halen song "Tatoo"? Not too bad, and having David Lee Roth singing still sounds great.
  12. I wonder if they plan on paying the artist who performed the songs? Knowing how cheap they are, probably not.
  13. I haven't gone through all the pages here, but is there a scale associated with it, or is it non-scale?
  14. Who's pitching a tent pole for Robotech? Definitely isn't me.
  15. Nope, I enjoy watching it myself. I'm not just into the mecha and robot anime. Being in a couple bands myself, I guess that's why this one stuck with me.
  16. Pre....and....ordered!!! I'm hoping this spawns a re-release of the Zero valks, and the 0D.
  17. Daisuke WAS Toynami's division that did those toys. As of now, it looks like they're branching off into other venues. While it sucks that Daisuke was let go (he's very talented), I'm not much for seeing Robotech toys come out. It's better that HG realize that their market is drying up, than to keep on pretending that they're doing so much with the franchise. They won't make TPB print runs here due to market, they seem to have the toys drying up...hopefully it's a trend that keeps growing. Sorry, but I'd rather have the mess disappear, than keep great products out of the states, and the rest of the world for that matter.
  18. With the news of Toynami shrinking in size with the letting go of Daisuke, the guy who sculpted the Robotech toys, I wonder if they're moving on from doing more of the toys? It doesn't look as though they were planning on releasing their 1/100 line anymore, and by the looks of it and from the rumor mill, the Robotech toy line maybe vaporware. The sales of the Battlepods is very poor, and they are being sold at fire sale prices. That usually spells one thing, no interest.
  19. Kicker, those are a nice set of books. I love having a massive amount of reference material. Love it.
  20. I loved the movie. It was full of epic, but like I said, just didn't have the connection with it. It's also a little too flashy for my taste, but I do agree, it is a great looking valk. 2/1/12, I'm ordering the guitar. I'll probably take a bunch of pics of it when it's in.
  21. Currently watching Blue Gender, catching up on K-On!, and afterwards, will go ahead in finding something completely new to watch.
  22. Must....get....DVD version!!!
  23. Ah, OK. For some reason, see the purple, and think M. Nevertheless, I love those extra parts. If could, I'd totally make the M, but I also love the color of the the original VA-3. Guess it just comes down to preference, but if Yamato never makes these, I'm going to make both. Looks like the difference is mostly in the arms and small aesthetic parts. Below is just a portion of the part I'm working on now. There's quarter circle pieces that branch off the side of it, and curve with the upper part. I need to fix the program, as it's acting up, but it's still coming along.
  24. And it prints in ABS. Now, that is what I'm talking about. I'd like to see some samples of its work to see how accurate and how precise the printing is. If it's pretty clean, that maybe an option for me.
  25. Modern Eagles are beautiful. Wouldn't mind one, but the 513 is something I think I wouldn't be as fearful carrying around. It'll be 513 w/ 10 top flame top maple, Angry Larry color, East Indian Rosewood fretboard. It's gonna be around $3700. As for the yf-29, it's not that I didn't like it. I'm not one to buy toys just for profit, either. I think that in watching the second Frontier movie, the fact that it's only in it for a very short time, it didn't give me a connection with the toy. I'd rather have the extra funds to buy something I really have been waiting for. If they become available again down the line, I'll see, but priorities first, I guess.
