As far as making durable parts, I would't consider the materials that Shapeway uses, very durable. Their white strong and flexible material is a plastic, but feels like ceramic. Basically, it's a powder that is mixed with a hardener from what I understand, so it's not bonded like injection plastic is. I think if you're looking to make shoulder fixes for Yamatos, or any type of replacement parts, if it's going to be something you move a lot, is going to take on weight, and it needs a lot of durability, that material may not be the one to use. The new printer that came out this year that does ABS maybe the way to go, but again, I don't know how it's cured on the ABS machine. If it's the same way, it's never going to be as sturdy as the original part. I use Shapeways myself, and it works, just not for everything.

I remember at Anime Expo people were asking about either the distributor, or the studio that was working on the LLA project, and he did mention that he'd have an announcement regarding all that before the end of the year. Oh well, go figure.

It's kinda found it way under the rocks of the Maya Islands. http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/magazines/mg-oct2002-page-21.jpg http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/magazines/mg-oct2002-page-23.jpg http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/magazines/mg-oct2002-page-24.jpg This was an old kit bash, it appears, that was done almost 10 years ago and converted to transform.

I just remembered something!!! Didn't Kevin McKeever promise to have an update on the distributor or something like that regarding the LLA project before January 1st? Somehow, everyone at HG, rtx, and rt.com conveniently forgot that, or I missed it in my scan of the websites.

In looking at the CG colors of the VF-25S, the new GE-55 Bandai release isn't too far off at all. The slight shade difference isn't a deal breaker by any means. Overall, this version of the toy is probably going to be the definitive version. If that is the case, I'm thoroughly satisfied with what has come out. This thing is going to be super badass once the armor parts come out.

Quick shot of my books on the shelves. I didn't take a pic of all the Macross manga on the third shelf cause it's a bit cluttered, and I have lots of other books there, too.

Meeting someone with common interest is one thing. Having the skills to not f!@# it up by being a super nerd, or using Robotech as a pickup is another.

Just contact ebay and have them shut it down. Having them lose a buck on a copied picture and the time may teach a lesson.

Damn, chalk that up to good memory. So, the trend seems to be to sell Robotech as a way to get all those single guys on nerd alert a woman. Let me set you all straight...Robotech logos and luggage tags will NOT get you a woman. If that's all you're relying on, it's going to be more of a detraction.

This is the one that screams to be left in fighter mode with that badass Skull logo on the top. Like a few here, I got my preorder in about two days before they arrived at hlj. When I read that a couple people on the boards cancelled their order due to worrying about something re: the color of paint on the legs, I was able to get one of those. This is my favorite valk right now,,,probably over the 17.

They once had a picure of a group of fans from about 7 years ago at one of Michael Bradley's band concerts, in which I was in it with my (at the time) ex-wife. The strange thing was, they put the pic up with the caption (paraphrasing) "Robotech is good for dates". Even back then, when I was in their good graces, I was shocked that they'd put up something so lame. I couldn't help but laugh. I know a few friends still remember that.

Sent you an email. As for an update, I'm debating using the CAD to redesign the front of the nose, and the backpack. The material I scratchbuilt this out of is great, sturdy, and will last forever, Buuuut, it's only as accurate as my sculpting is, and if I can design a hollow piece that has the panel lines already put in, I'm getting the detail, and lightening up the project all at the same time. Aside from that, the mechanics work great on it. Just transformed it yesterday, as I have two of the EPP pods for the wings, and they look great on it. For those following this thread, should I CAD the main changes, or continue to sculpt with what I have?

Oh, duh. I shoulda looked closer at them. Carry On.

LMFAO!!! I never read that before. So, that's what they think of their fans.

Looks great. I did notice that the yellow is bleeding through the kite symbol on the wing though. Other than that, looks great. Can't wait to see the toy complete in some good poses.

Luckily, when I got mine, I was able to get replacement hinges for mine. I bought this before getting those, simply because it was a toy I really, really had to have. I don't think anyone can answer that question for you. However, if I wer you, I'd try to protect myself as much as possible with the purchase, if you really want it.

Just got mine today, and I must say, I'm thoroughly enjoying it. It's sleek, and is really solid. I love the color of the gun as well. It has a non-toy look to it (finally) that goes well with the grey of the toy. I'm glad I ponied up the money for this item.
-
If it comes out to be that good, I'll buy some too. Although, it looks like I'll be doing quite a bit of mixing.
-
Mine is coming tomorrow, too. Left Anchorage at 1730 pst, so it'll be on the truck tomorrow.

I'm a fan of Robotech, but I have the sense to know that it just needs to disappear. I'd only be interested to see it resurface, IF, they were to bring it back without any of the usage of someone else's designs. They had their time to do something significant, and can't pull that together, so it should go away, and not be seen for quite a few years, at least 10. Do you think a lot of people would really feel it? I think they've created so many people who are critical of them, and people who just don't like them with all the bridges they've burned, I think if they tried that, they'd be hung by many, many people on the boards. Almost every fan made "Robotech" item I see on youtube, or article with Robotech mentioned, there always seems to be scores of people who are very critical, and doubtful of the current staff's ability. Sure, there's those that like it, but to me, it seems 50/50. Not a good rating when you're trying to build a reputation and a franchise.

As someone who's had about 24 Toynami/Aoshima alpha/legioss pass throug my possession, and I have had small issues to large issues with EVERY SINGLE ONE. After a few of them that were pretty much scrap-worthy, I was able to frankenstein some good ones together. I think most of the issues have been mentioned with them, from parts being over-glued, under-glued, shoddy, broken landing gear that doesn't clear the lowest part of the chest/belly, to the infamous crumbling hands. I recommend you stay away from those. As for the CM's corp. Brave Chogokin, they are made to play with. They can get loose after awhile, but they are a fun toy to have around. I've had 4 of them, but now only have 2, and I really like the fact that they made the drone version. The CM's Tread isn't in scale with the Legioss, and it has the artistic interpretation, but it's an easy toy to play with, and I don't have any issues with it. If you have to choose between them, I'd suggest the CM's packages.

The huge ego thing is definitely there. I'm sure HG could be burning down, and McKeever would still be trying to say how well the franchise is doing, and trying to convince us that there is no fire. As he's now supposedly the marketing coordinator, I wonder why he doesn't keep up with marketing trends and strategy? The general trend in marketing a product over the last 1 1/2 years, has been a strategy of honesty. When you look at all the issues that are coming with RT merchandise, the low demand for the battlepods, the fact that Toynami is letting people go, the stalling of the movie, the "hiatus" of Shadow Rising, etc, etc, don't you think fans would rather hear some simple truth to it? I can respect someone more for trying and not reaching their potential, than someone trying, not reaching the goal, and blaming it on everything else except them. Then when they start throwing other people under the bus, or using people who aren't around as scapegoats, it really only reflects a company that can't, and will never own up to anything, and the goal they try to reach changes. It's not about putting out a great product anymore, but feeding the egos that are in the office. It makes for intereting observation. It's like watching ants in an ant farm trying to build shoddy walls that keep crumbling after they try to move forward.

Good luck with that. Avid seems a bit testy when it comes to this stuff. I wish that Adobe Software I gave you would boot on your computer. Premier is very easy to use, as is the Audition sound editing software.

Well, people arguing over what Macross series is better is kinda pointless, but people have that need to try to prove their point, even when nobody cares. I always have this picture of some fat, sweaty guy with glasses, pounding at the keys of his computer in his bedroom of his parent's house. I usually get a good kick out of hearing people "over-b!tch" about some trivial issue.
