Yes, and for what reason, nobody knows. You'd think she'd put the site up in Engrish at least, since if there's anybody in Japan that really cares about Robotech, it's the soldiers stationed there.

Those were done awhile back ago.

There's no speculation on my part. You did say you'd make sure both hinges fit in the same space together. If that news is coming soon, that's not speculation.

When the designer uploads the parts into Shapeways, they have a chance to create a store. The creator can also decide what parts to put up for sale, and for how much, and as long as the creator wishes, the parts can be made available for as long as they choose. For that reason, you probably don't need to rush and buy the first version, or buy without making sure both pieces fit together. It sounds like that news will be coming very soon, and if all is good, you guys can buy as many as you like.

The all black canopby is probably the best bet. I hope you can transform it without the paint scratching. If you can, you're set. If it is going to scratch. your next option would be 1)Recastin the two parts in black or 2) dying the two parts in black. Hopefully neither is needed. In anycase, thi is looking like a produced toy with high detail. Excellent work.

Yamato did do something. They were replacing shoulder hinges for quite some time. Graham at one point had quite a few replacement parts as well.

Bandai DX Chogokin YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie
Jasonc replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
If it hasn't been mentioned on hlj, you guys can be almost be certain HLJ will have it. They have a good relationship w/ Bandai, being they sell a ton of their stuff. I'm sure it's just a matter of confrimation of units before they put up the preorder for you guys. -
Get your dyes ready, guys.

Looks great so far. If you can improve the strength of the part when in battroid, that's even better. I have all the necessary replacement parts, but it's nice to know they're available, just hope for a very decent price.
-
If you can find one at hlj, or amiami for the regular price, you should jump on it. The Alto version, when it was gone, instantly went above $200. For Yamato, you may have slightly better luck, but even some of those simply disappear, and can't be found for .less than 20% markup above the MSRP. I've been burned by the waiting game, as well as many here, so play at your own risk.

Yeah, no luck in searching. I hope the best for you. It's sad that there's scum pods that do shady stuff for that. If he is stiffing you, I pronounce bad karma coming back to him 10-fold, and evertime something bad happens to him, he thinks back to this time.

All those Takatokus, old Bandai VF-19 Kai, V.1 Yamato VF-1, and the Robotech figures, that does take me back.Very impressive.

Well, to see people bickering and arguing, I'd say that's a form of being a liitle too tense/worried about a CAD design. Overall, I don't think there's a big sense of stir over the concerns, just hope it stays as such.

Those CAD designs look like the original designs. For all we know, it's already fixed, and we're screaming for nothing. Most of the time, we're surprised at how well the final production samples look. I've made my points with my opinion, as did just about everyone else. If Yamato wants to change it, they will. I wouldn't hit the panic button at this time, and mentioning your worries more than once doesn't count as two people's opinions. All we can do at this point is chill, and be civil (not panicking) about the evolutionary process of this toy from start to finish.

Yeah, I hear ya. I've been looking at different boards, here, and on ebay, and they're from $250-$600. There's on on sale here, the Beagle version for $500. Those may go as well, but right now, I'm trying to figure out getting this one sold.

Any updates? Can't wait to see the final product. -
Quick question. I have a Robotech version Scott Bernard MPC cyclone that I was thinking of selling for about $300. Is that a good price? Are they going for more? These things are so far stretched, that I don't know what to offer it at. I'd like to get as much as possible, but if I end up selling it here, I don't want to gouge anyone either. That's why I'm thinking $300-$350. Your input is greatly appreciated.

Definitely not due to "newness" of the valks, but the dollar/yen ratio. As of late, a lot of the "new" stuff coming out, especially from Bandai, has been gone from the get go. Example: the YF-29. Luckily for those still wanting one, it's going to be available again in a couple months. I think Alto's VF-25 is still hard to find, and I think the Ozma version is disappearing too. You may end up paying a premium for waiting, not getting them for less.

It's a great way to get high, but definitely not suggested. I've done airbrushing in my apartment. While not suggested, I am very careful. I tape a large box shut on the bottom except where I'm painting into. I keep my fan blowing into the box, so that the spray stays inside as much as possible, and I wear a respirator. I also keep the door open, windows open, and do it as close to the open door as possible. It works, and I've never had an issue with it, but again, not suggested.

Pretty sure I have that book somewhere. There's also the old Mospeada magazine. I was just flipping through that, and there's some great line art in there. There's a police Ride armor.

Romance in Anime Better or worse today?
Jasonc replied to leading edge's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I have a pretty extensive anime library at home, roughly 300+ titles. All of them range from the 80s to current, and this doesn't count what is available through Netflix. What I've noticed, is that what some complain they don't like in anime "now" is just a different rendition of what was back then, the same style that they are claiming was good. For example, take the "Harem comedy" anime. There were the exact same formula animes in existence in the so-called glory days. Tenchi Muyo, Ranma 1/2 quickly come to mind. For the mecha shows, there's plenty to name. I think it really does come down to age. Many of these older animes were watched when we were more impressionable, or during a time when we didn't have so many things to crowd our time and thoughts. These older titles had more space to occupy then. When a lot of us watch anime now, it's on a day off from work, while being on the computer, in the middle of a meal, or while writing checks. Hopefully you get the point. The main change is us, I believe, not the anime story. Secondly, I believe the move to CG and not 100% hand drawn really threw the older fans into a turn. To be honest, it took me awhile to adjust to not seeing the hand drawn stuff, or not to see the "anime magic" even as far-fetched as it got. I still get a little nostalgic when I see action sequences in Megazone 23, Gundam 0083, and the sort. However, it's just nostalgia, and when I watch current anime as objectively as possible, and with an open mind, I realize that the new stuff isn't bad at all. I believe most of the work comes from reconnecting with the love of anime, without any roadblocks, or biases. Over the past year, I've been able to rediscover how good anime is, and all the new stuff out there. It's not worse, it's not even really all that different, there's just a lot more to choose from, compared to 15+ years ago. It's still just as good as it was then, I believe it just takes the older anime fan a little more work to get to that place to openly see that. -
It really depends on what fighter you like better. If you like the VF-1, the v.2 is a great line and aside from some QC quirks, is a good toy. If you like the Frontier VF-25 look better, then the renewal version is so far new, and relatively available and viable as well. If you lke both, then both those versions are what you wanna get.

I'd pay decent money for a Yamato version, but not about to spend $500 on a set. Especially considering there are 3 versions??? As for the CMs upgrade parts, it would've been cool if they added missile hard points on the Tread wings for those missile spreads.
