  1. I didn't mean that Shadow Chronicles was the primary cause, but it definitely put the ball into motion. People were already getting feisty at the lack of news on the release of the feature, but when criticism was met with bannings, I think that caused the opposite of gaining fans to happen. More people were leaving than coming in. I can think of everyone that I knew from the forums then, friends, aquaintances, and all in between, and many just don't go there anymore. HG's choice to ban some people due to their criticism, ended up spreading to those that were friends of those people, and a mass exodus started to happen right after the release.
  2. If their goal was to bring in a whole new set of fresh fans into the fray, then they failed miserably. In fact, the only thing they really did after the release, was lose fans. Once HG went into defensive mode about the film, and started banning people who didn't absolutely love Shadow Chronicles, they started losing fans. I almost have to say that Shadow Chronicles was the thing that instigated the decline of the fanbase. It also didn't help that the ugliness of the staff started showing, as well as the nutjobs in the fanbase really started getting defensive with the staff.
  3. I have a friend that has some really rare Robotech songs that never made it to the screen. Unfortunately, those won't see the light of day until after their CD is out. Then it can be more of a "They still didn't get EVERYTHING." As for the rt.com link, I kinda expect something like that. Many people that like only Robotech, have been potty trained to only piss out ideas that are based on something already there, or repeat HG's vision of ripping from some other established story. It's nothing really new. You can go back and look at some of the old rpg sites, and they incorporate all Macross designs, and some from Gundam and Megazone 23 as well. On the flip side, you can go here, and see people attempting to design totally new mecha, and expand the Macross universe in their own unique way. It's one thing, even when I was a member on rt.com back in the day, that really annoyed me. It seemed, even back then, that Robotech has a way of stinting creativity amongst its fans, just out of its own creation. By that action alone, the fans (especially the vocal nutjobs) help keep Robotech in their stagnant position, unable to break free from the first 3 shows it started from. The best thing they can do to save themselves, would be to bring in all new designs, and shed off what keeps them tied to rehashed story and design. I say all that, but in reality, we're talking about one of the most unmotivated, uncreative Robotech staff. That'd never happen.
  4. This is why it'd have to be a co-investment to be made as a toy. I've heard of different companies partnering together to make toys, and this would probably be one of them, as Dengeki Hobby sponsored this toy design.
  5. Can't wait to see more pics.
  6. I don't think it'd matter if it was put up or not. They're probably sold out already.
  7. I don't know. There was a thread for the Wonderfest in the model forum. You can see if anyone writing there has gone. I'd love to get my hands on one of these. I especially like the metallic painting.
  8. I think the Winter festival, makers are only allowed to sell 20 of them (correct me if I'm wrong). But I would love to get one of those.
  9. I was thinking this would be a release on the scale of the Mass Production 1J. There weren't a lot of those made, and that was only in the series for a few seconds as well. The demand doesn't seem to be too hight for that particular valk, but they are hard to find. I wonder if this will be the same, or if it'll be one of those that's hardly made, and everyone wants one?
  10. come on preorder!!! i really like the different colored schemes. I hope this spawns more of the unusual schemes, and even the non-canon ones, like maybe a Minmay Guard, moon and Paris act. DOOOOO IT!
  11. I would prefer the 19 ACTIVE as well, but this is a beautiful color, and I will probably get this kit as well. Love the Thunder Focus kit.
  12. Now, that thing needs to have a real speaker built in.
  13. Well, that's definitely different than pins. Nevertheless, there is a fix to getting those parts of the 22's wings to stay in place. If you put a little bit of styrene in there, it creates some pressure on the hinge, and makes it sturdy. I had that issue with my Milia version, and it worked for mine. NMB4M fixed it up on mine. I try to fix things without the glue, polish, etc. if possible. Glue is my last ditch effort.
  14. Seeing all those pics makes me really want an Inbit in the correct scale.
  15. I was thinking the blue was a bit too dark, but it maybe the lighting, and it's hard to see the real contrast when the parts aren't put together. Oter than that, they're looking smooth as silk.
  16. That's good to hear that it works. Having loose toys can be a real bummer.
  17. I don't see why it can't stand on its own. Between the protruding chest and the mass that is past the shoulder, it almost looks balanced, if not a little top heavy. I guess if the diecast is put in the right places, it should work just fine.
  18. ^ I approve this message ^
  19. For December, 2012, that's enough time to scrutinize the design at all stages. I'm pretty sure Yamato will listen, especially knowing Graham gives them our concerns and questions. That's also a good amount of time to save save save.
  20. Finally watched Tactics on Netflix. It's from 04 I think, but since it's part of Stars, supposedly soon it won't be there. Good series overall. The main plotline doesn't get too involving until the end of the series, but overall, a good watch. Right now, I am watching Birdy the Mighty: Decode, which I originally thought would be kinda lame, but I have to admit, I'm prettey immersed in the story. It's got a really good plot, and very good characters. I'm watching episode 14 now, basically the start of the second season, and it's worth a view.
  21. I'm not that big on the CMs figures for the ride armor. The way the joints are connected with screws, and the plastic that's on them make them pretty fragile. The one thing they get big kudos on, is the fact that they made them all, including some variants. I wish Megahouse made them all, as to me, those are better (although they have some serious issues as well).
  22. Yes, and for what reason, nobody knows. You'd think she'd put the site up in Engrish at least, since if there's anybody in Japan that really cares about Robotech, it's the soldiers stationed there.
  23. Those were done awhile back ago.
  24. There's no speculation on my part. You did say you'd make sure both hinges fit in the same space together. If that news is coming soon, that's not speculation.
  25. When the designer uploads the parts into Shapeways, they have a chance to create a store. The creator can also decide what parts to put up for sale, and for how much, and as long as the creator wishes, the parts can be made available for as long as they choose. For that reason, you probably don't need to rush and buy the first version, or buy without making sure both pieces fit together. It sounds like that news will be coming very soon, and if all is good, you guys can buy as many as you like.
