  1. At my time of preorder at CDJapan (about 10 minutes ago), it said their were 16 available. I've preordered, and paid for mine. Now there's 15 remaining.
  2. Ahhh, Sketchbook A. Been looking for that too. Maybe my problem has been just looking at ebay only and not looking at Yahoo Japan too often. Anyways, if you just so happen to see it, let me know. It's a definite want.
  3. I do have to agree, the engineering is cool and all. I've seen the blue one, so I'm kinda familiar with it. As long as you're happy with what you got for what you paid, then the amount is worth it. That's always the thing with niche toys. It looks cool with the fast packs. How many times have you transformed it?
  4. Circling the toilet, round and round we go. I think the topic is flushed.
  5. Why do so many people cite Wikipedia as 100% fact, when it's written by unauthorized people? Just because you quote Wikipedia doesn't mean that your argument is 100% all true. You might as well say that you're right because your neighbor said it was right. Wikipedia has been proven wrong many a time.
  6. I'm sure they do. Those are semi easy to find. I've seen those in close to mint and in box for about $100-$150. Those are cool. I like those simply for the fact that they are erasers first, and very cool erasers.
  7. Well, with such a small amount of them available, it's kinda hard to tell what they are worth. It's one of those things that some people are willing to pay through the nose for and have to have, or could careless about. I've seen one or two in my time offered at over $1000, which is crazy in my opinion, but like it's just one of those things thats value is different to each individual. For me, I'm not into joke machines, super deformed anything, so I think your best bet is to get info on how much 2nd owners of them paid. Not really a question I'd really ask someone though. That's their business.
  8. Sometimes, reading some of the comments here make me miss the days of reading fringe Robotech fans' explanations in the Robotech licensing forum. Talking about train wrecks. Good times.
  9. I have to agree. I think the true value of a show, and its display as good writing, animation, and so on, eventually shows in general consensus, sales, and its ability to sell the product. Good writing, if you look at it from an introverted veiwpoint, is all about what it does for you. It's not necessarily wrong, but if it doesn't match up with the populace, there's a disonnect. The fact that Frontier has connected with old and (many) new fans, I'd say the writing was very successful.
  10. "Well thank you mister obvious. This is true of every anime that has graced the tv screen since like forever." My thoughts exactly. Macross is the exact same as it was in its original run. As for the rest of your comments, your observations are severly flawed at best, and I severely question your judgment. While all that may be true in your own head, the facts tell a different story. Maybe reality isn't your cup of tea?
  11. I have a couple art books of 7, but missing that one. If you happen to see one in any auction sites, shoot me a pm. Been looking for that one, not diligently like I should, but have been looking.
  12. It's not like it wasn't present in the original shows, so the argument that it's soooo different seems more a rant of nostalgia. Yep, and there's A LOT more where those came from. There's also the direct subjects, like a showering Minmay, and the womanizing Roy. No different than today. The only thing that really changes, is us.
  13. I'll chime in on the title of the thread. Macross is what used to be. It's a show about the same fighters that transform into robots, with singing girls, a love triangle, aliens, drama, action, and an overall vehicle designed to sell merchandise on a highly successful level. It seems like what is left to argue about is what little differences there are in between them that don't make it an exact copy of SDF Macross and DYRL. In that case, of course they're not the same. If you want the exact same, hit replay on your DVD.
  14. There's always the unassembled kits, that have a white unpainted, unassembled figure you can paint.
  15. I hope it does come with a Mylene figure. Down the line, I'm really going to have to make the sound booster play music with real speakers.
  16. Gotta agree. All the craziness with the 171 and the 29 is just way too much to stress over. This, I know, is solid.
  17. Preorder goodness!!!
  18. Saw it, and it was just OK. Not a great movie by any means. The camera work was horrible, and for awhile there, I was getting a little motion sickness, which is very hard for me to get. I liked Batlle Royale better. As for the idea of skipping all the book turned movie in favor of books, I'm not a movie or book snob, so I don't think you're any better or worse off by watching them. I thought this would be a good movie to watch, and it was just OK. I enjoyed John Carter more.
  19. No, just making a comment that I liked it, in both languages. (Not saying that you are) I'm not the "Anime Snob" type. Whatever you enjoy works.
  20. No problem, I should've mentioned that I've tried the Testors sheets, and they don't work that well. They leave a silvering effect that makes them look like decals, and not like painted symbols.
  21. Nothing needed this time around. Put up some other stuff.
  22. It looks fantastic. I have my preorder in, so I'll be super anxious to see this on Blu-ray. If you guys can't get the rare set, you shouldn't worry too much. Save yourself some money and get the regular set.
  23. Yeah, it's a bit tricky with those two, but I usually go with HLJ simply because of their customer service. They'll quickly and easily replace broken parts. Haven't heard anything either way in regards to Amiami. Speaking of this release, I still can't figure out if I want one or not. I guess I'll keep looking, and if it happens to pop up in one of the places I order from, I'll get one. If not, oh well.
  24. There are other decal sheets that are much better. Can't remember where I got mine from, but the ones I ordered are very sturdy, and very high quality. I would advise to look online for other manufacturers. Testors is OK, but if you want better quality, it's out there.
  25. In regards to shipping, Amiami has always sent me large boxes as well. I think it's usually a better deal to go with hlj, and use Fedex. It's a little cheaper, and Fedex gets me my packages withing 3-4 days.
